'Meeting him'
'Don't call me selfish I ain't sharing, this 60/40 isn't working. I want a hundred of your time, you're mine.'
out a shaky, nervous breath as I prepared myself to face the man behind me. I turned my head to face him, and gulped in fear. Taking a few steps back in the process.
The man in front of me stood around five foot seven, and had deep, brown eyes but had a hint of blue in them, he had a jet black mullet that was a bit outgrown, and he had a sharp jawline. His face strongly held a stern glare, as he harshly questioned me.
"Are you deaf? I said what do you think your doing?" He surprisingly had a very deep voice, one that didn't match his face. I was roughly pulled back into reality as he spoke again. "I u-uh." I fumbled over my words as I searched desperately for an excuse.
He sighed as he dug his ringed hands into his pockets. "Let me guess, you were looking for a way out. A way to escape. Well I'm sorry to crush your dreams sweetheart, but you aren't getting out." He Teased as a patronising smirk snaked onto his freckled face.
I turned around to run, my breathing drastically quickened as I sprinted down the long, winding corridor, as I swung round corner after corner, it was all the same long corridors, everything looked like same. It was like one endless labyrinth, leading to nothing but fear, anxiety and disappointment.
I could feel the hot Adrenalin pumping through my veins as I ran down the royal looking corridor, I forced my legs to run faster as I could here the heavy footsteps of the intimidating man behind be run after me, shouting profanities, adding to my growing fear.

He was clearly faster than me as I heard him getting closer and closer to my panicked figure. I loudly gasped as I felt him crash into me, sending us both tumbling onto the marbled floor bellow. My head painfully hitting the hard floor, causing a ringing noise to sound in my ear for a few seconds. He was quick to recover from the fall, and quickly grabbed me by my waist, and flipped me onto my back, he breathed heavily as he straddled my waist and held my wrists together to keep them in place, his chest rising and falling with very breath.
After a few minutes in an uncomfortable silence, before I heard his sickening laughter as he tightened his deathly grip on my wrists. "I'm slightly disappointed, I honestly expected you to be a little more smart, on the bright side, Han owes me 300,000 won." He cruelly snickered at the end of the sentence, making me grit my teeth in anger.
I failed to realise the slow footsteps behind us, as the young hacker, Jisung approached us. "Speak of the devil." The black haired man muttered as his agonisingly cruel smirk returned to his gorgeous face.
I twisted my neck around to catch a glimpse of Han, my neck painfully turning in a awkward direction. His dark eyes flickered to mine as I caught sight of him.
His iconic smirk rested on his face as cocked his head to the side. "Nice seeing you again [name" he happily chirped as he noticed my irritated glare, "actually I'm glad I found you, we have some great news for you!"
I felt my stomach drop as I heard those words, good news? They're letting me go maybe? Maybe I can finally go home... I got lost in thought as I failed to realise that the man with the black mullet had roughly lifted me up by my waist, and forced my feet to stand weakly on the floor.

Han cruelly laughed at my distraught state, and took a few steps forward. Causing the man with the mullet to tighten his painful grip, making me wince in pain. Jisung ran his smooth fingers through his messy brown hair, before turning back to me and the other man to speak.
"It's time you meet him. The man who we answer to. The man who is going to tell both you and us, what the fuck is going on."
——————————
tapped my foot against the floor, forcing an echo to bounce off the walls. I looked around awkwardly as we waited outside the huge door of what I assumed to be the bosses office.
Jisung sighed in irritation before turning to me. "Can you stop doing that." It wasn't a question, more like a demand. I immediately stopped tapping my foot against the marble flooring, causing the corridor to fall into silence.
An uncomfortable, chilling shiver ran down my spine as I heard a deep voice, like the man who's name I had yet to learn, laced with a thick Australian accent. Telling us to come in. I took a deep breath before turning to the door, I can do this.

of them walked into the spacious room as the BangChan sat opposite the others, studying them with a cruel, patronising smirk.
"You're Late." His honeyed vocals met their ears as he lent back into his chair, his platinum blonde hair falling onto his face. He was wearing black dress pants, a white dress shirt, slightly unbuttoned at the top, exposing his collarbone, the shirt was rolled up at the shoulders, and was clearly made out of an expensive material. [name] nervously gulped at the the sight of the scar that ran across his face from his eyebrow to his lower cheek.
Han rolled his eyes and sighed in annoyance as Bangchan criticised their late timing. [name] shifted anxiously as she shuffled her feet behind Han, almost for protection.
Bangchan stared at her in thought for a moment, making her squirm under his intimidating gaze. "Han, Felix," both the men glanced up at Bangchan as they heard their name.
"Step outside for a second, I need to have a private conversation with our dear little [name] here."

Lone: The Wanderer [Dropped Version (includes original draft of the rewrite's first volume)]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 2 chapters per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] A/N: This story is in the middle of a rewrite, so please forgive any noticeable plot holes and wonky chapter numbers. I am working on it every day, so understanding would be greatly appreciated. The new cover art is a courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge

A note from the Author: PLEASE leave a review and alert me of any plot holes, weak portions, and anything else. I am in desperate need of beta readers and feedback. I wrote this around the new year, 2020. It's about 40k words and the first in a planned series that follows Gar "Alany" Darron and his agency of detectives as they track missing persons in the city of Throne. I have the sequel planned but not written. Once this one is completely uploaded, I'll be uploading another, unrelated series that as of right now is roughly 160k words long, and somewhere in there, I'll write the sequel to Frame of Mind. I plan to go back and forth between the two series for the foreseeable future. Thanks for reading.
