《Family Comes First》Reality Hits Hard

I was back in Jimmy's room. Actually Jimmy and I's room. I walked over to the window and wrapped my hand my hand around one of the cold metal bars. I built up and the strength in my arm and gave it a big yank. I wanted to see if it was secured tightly. I sighed when it didn't budge at all.
Jimmy opened the door and walked in. We just ate dinner. Well, I didn't eat. I just pushed the food around on my plate. All I could do was focus on a way to escape. Every window had bars on it, the doors locked from the inside and when I walked around the house I couldn't find a phone anywhere. Escape seemed almost impossible.
Jimmy walked up to me and pressed his lips against mine. I continued to stand there frozen. He had kissed me many times throughout the day, and I gave up trying to push him away. It ended quicker if i just stood there and didn't do anything.
My arms hung down by my side ashe had one of his hands on the back of my head and the other was around my neck. His hot breath filled my mouth. When he was done he kissed my forehead.
I heard somebody run up the stairs quickly. It must have been Tommy. I couldn't imagine Charles running up the stairs that fast. Tommy started yelling something, and Jimmy backed away from me. It looked like he wasn't suppose to be anywhere near me. Like he was going to be punished for kissing me.
Tommy opened up the door. His face was read and sweat was dripping off of his flesh. He was panting and bent over.
"Come on! There are two down by the lake!" he yelled at him impatiently.
Tommy ran back down stairs, his limbs flaring out. Jimmy followed him, but stopped and turn around in the doorframe. His dark eyes locked on mine. He looked out the door and then back to me.
"Stay here. No matter what you hear do not leave this room. And I mean it. Don't open this door," he explained to me. He closed the door and I could hear him run down the stairs.

I looked out the window to see Jimmy and Tommy running across the field. I don't know where they're going. Maybe a hunt. But to hunt what? Tommy said he found two. But two of what? I waited impatiently by the window and started shifting my weight from foot to foot. About thirty minutes later they came back home.
They were carrying a girl. Tommy was holding her by her feet and Jimmy had her arms. She was violently moving and screaming. My heart dropped in my chest.
Humans.
They were hunting humans.
I thought it was sick that they kidnapped people, but what are they going to do with her? Was she a girl for someone else?Or were they going to kill her? Torture her?Hopefully, I wasn't just seeing this correctly.
As I watched them enter the house I ran across the room. I put my ear against the door, but I didn't need to. The girl's high pitch screams ran throughout the house. Her screams were muffled when a door slammed shut, but I could still hear them. Every scream caused my body to flinch. What were they doing to her?
I moved back over to the window. My legs were shaking as I walked. Tommy was running across the feild again. He said there were two, so there must be another. If I ran down the stairs I could maybe get them to stop. She would run away and tell the police and they'll come and I can leave. The worst thing I may face are a few punches and kicks from Jimmy.
In my head it sounded like the perfect plan. But I couldn't move. I was too stunned and my body felt numb.
When Tommy came back he was dragging a man by his leg. He was lying there lifeless. As they came closer I could see that his throat was slt and he was covered in his own blood.
I covered my mouth and I don't know if it was to stop the sobs or the screams that were building up in my throat. I slid down onto the floor. I let all of those tears I have been holding back all day fall out of my eyes.
They kill people. I'm in a house full of killers. Escape was now impossible. If I did find an opportunity and I didn't make it, they would kill me for sure. But if I stay in this house then that wasn't really living.

I sat on the floor sobbing like a toddler. I continued to hear that girl scream. I dug the palms of my hands into my eyes and dug my finger nails into my scalp. I know for certain now they're going to kill that girl. Why couldn't it be quick like the man's?
I let ugly sounding sobs leave my mouth. I felt frustration building up inside me. I kicked my legs out across the floor. I couldn't help myself. I let another scream go. I wrapped my arms around myself and rocked back and forth. This was so absurd, it had to be some kind of awful nightmare. I couldn't hear the girl's screams anymore. She must be dead.
The tears had to stop before Jimmy, Charles or Tommy saw me like this. I couldn't stop it though. The water continued to flow down my eyes and down my cheeks.
I could hear the thudding sound of somebody coming up the stairs. The door creaked as Jimmy walked into the room. His jaw dropped when he saw me crumpled on the ground. He ran over to me and got down on his knees. He moved my now wet hair out of my face.
"Juleit, it's alright," he told me quietly.
I pulled my sleeve over my hand and used it to wipe the tears away from my eyes. I tried to slow down the breaths I was taking. Like usual, Jimmy's eyes were looking at me softly. It was hard to believe that those were the eyes of a killer. I looked down to avoid his eyes, but what I saw was much worse. His hands were covered with blood; the blood of the girl. I moved my eyes back up to his. His eyes weren't nearly as bad as the blood. He brought his face closer to mine.
"It's okay," he said soothingly. "You need to know that I would never hurt you."
He got up and went to the bathroom connected to our room. I could hear a steady flow of water left the sink. Hopefully he was washing his hands. I stayed on the floor because I couldn't find the strength to stand up. When he came out of the bathroom he had a blackcase in his hands.
"I'm just going to give you something to help you sleep," he told me.
I could hear him unzip the case. I tried to see what he was doing, but his body blocked my vision. When he turned around he had a syringe in his hand. It must be what Charles gave me the night he took me. I didn't want to be knocked out again. I didn't know what they'll be doing to me when I am.
"No," I whined pulling my arm against my body.
"Juliet, it's alright. I just want to help you," he said soothingly.
"No," I continued to whine. "Please, don't."
"Juliet. Stop. Please," he said pulling my arm out towards him. I tried to wiggle away from him, but he traced the skin over my arm with his thumb. He pierced my skin with the needle and I closed my eyes until it was done.
"Wasn't that bad? Was it?" he asked me once he had finished. I opened my eyes and watched him put the syringe back into the bag.
My eyelids started to feel heavy. I was passing out much quicker than when Charles drugged me. I'm now even more helpless than before. What were they going to do to me once I was unconscious? Would they rape me? Of course they would.
Jimmy walked back over to me and pressed his warm lips against my forehead. He took my arm and pulled me back up onto my feet. My knees started to buckle and I fought with them to keep them straight.
"You can't walk, can you?" he whispered into my ear.
Before I could answer him, he slid his arms under my knees. He lifted me up and curled me into his body. Jimmy carried me over to the bed and placed me down gently.
I couldn't open my eyes anymore. Moving my fingers became harder and harder. I would panic if I had the strength.

She bled out on her front doorstep following a sudden three-day absence. Seven years have passed, with her little brother—Adam—now standing at eighteen years of age. Following his sister's death, he lived the life of a delinquent, wandering the grimy streets of the city of Steeldale. It is a world where a cherry red sky gazes down upon a fragmented continent, on which civilisations from other worlds have been dumped like refuse.
