Little trodden steps down that path

Ringing giggles in that bubble bath

The woolen mittens on small hands

Tiny red noses lost in winter lands

Those building blocks in Lego house

Sneaky slippers trotting like a mouse

The stories woven under the blanket

That dance class and jingling anklet

Playing around in the rain puddles

How we chuckled in warm cuddles

Days when tooth fairies were reality

And the bruised knee was a calamity

When words were such a mystery

And water colours painted history

I know that my childhood is all gone

But still, even though I have grown

How they make me smile at all I hath
