Kelly's POV
It's been a week since Randy was arrested and I am so deeply worried for brooke! It seems like each day she is getting worse. She may not have noticed. But she holds everything really close to her eyes to read. I am just worried about her sight. We have an appointment with the optometrist soon, but I am so worried about her. Why has all of this happened so fast?
Brooke's POV:
Everything is fuzzy. I guess it's because of all my crying. I haven't been going to school because I can't concentrate. My mom thinks something is wrong with my eyes, but I don't think so. My mind is off in a different land where my dad was still here and never hurt me in the ways he did.

With the story only focusing on her, I can keep the mystery suspenseful and the reader can experience what Jessica is experiencing. It is a typical YA style, but it is fun to write as your main character. There are changes, but the first and second books will be similar to the third-person chapters.
