My heart flutters like the wings of a bird

Which until now laid unmoving on its back

At first it shakes and stands without a word

Unsure of its existence or what it lacks

My heart warms much like the sun in the sky

Bathing carefully through a cold winter day

A bird and a sun in darkness passed by

It's been so many years since I've felt this way

Though it might be an impossible thing

Or a slightly small ridiculous notion

I would love to one day hear my heart sing

With nothing but the warmest of emotions
