"We'll be back at like 5, is that alright?" Louis asked the 'ferry fella'.
"That's fine. So, who's this Tomlinson? A boyfriend?" Higgins motioned to Harry who was now off the boat and crouching down next to some sort of bird that for some reason hadn't run off.
"No, no. That's Harry. He's been staying at mine for a while."
"You two seem pretty cosy."
"Yeah I suppose. But we're just good friends."
"But I'm sure you'll be more. Bye Louis, have fun!"
And he started up the boat before Louis could reply, the noise of the engine cutting him off.
Louis just shook his head, giving a wave before turning back to Harry.
"I've made a friend." Harry grinned, bright eyed as he pointed to the bird. "He's called Richard."
"And what type of bird is Richard?"
"A pigeon you twat."
"Alright, alright. Sorry. It's not my fault, he's the wrong colour and he's missing an eye and a foot."
"I know. That's why I'm taking him back with us."
"H, we have two cats back at home."
"Yes but they're nice cats."
"I'm afraid we can't carry Richard around with us all day."
Harry stood up, blowing a kiss to Richard but a pout was on his face. "I feel bad."
"Richard the dodgy pigeon will be alright love. He's probably got a family."
"Okay." Harry sighed.
"Are you alright?" Louis asked, knowing the sigh wasn't just because he had to leave Richard.
"What if I see someone I know?"
"Where are you from again?"
"Near Manchester. But I live in London."
"We're in Cornwall. I'm not sure we'll see anyone you know."
"But what if we do?"
"H, I know it's scary but what would they do? Realistically?"
"Quite a lot." He admitted.
"Like what?" Louis asked softly.
"Beat me up. Shout at me. You know, the usual."

Louis frowned, wrapping an arm around Harry's waist and tugging him closer. "We won't see anybody and if we do I'll look after you."
Harry just nodded, leaning into Louis slightly as they began to walk. "Where to first then?"
"Wanna go to the market?" Louis suggested.
"Yeah. Is it good?"
"It sells stuff." Louis shrugged, "I don't know. I've not been here in a while."
"Christ there are a lot of people." Louis muttered.
"And pigeons."
"Richard's family and friends."
"Oh my god." Harry suddenly stopped, looking into a shop window.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah."
"What are you looking at?" Louis squinted.
"There's a little gold heart locket. It's adorable and so pretty. I think I'm in love!"
"You should buy it."
"It's too expensive." He sighed, beginning to walk off.
"I'll buy it for you then."
"What? Don't be ridiculous."
"But you want it."
"It's fine, I don't like it that much anyway." Harry shook his head, obviously lying.
"Yeah, yeah course. You don't like it but it's made you fall in love. Makes total sense, my bad." Louis rolled his eyes, speaking sarcastically.
Harry blushed a little.
"Come on, let's go and look at it at least. They might have more stuff but cheaper." Louis tugged at Harry's sleeve lightly.
"Okay." Harry gave in easily, trailing after Louis.
As Harry began to look around Louis ambled over to the counter.
"How can I help you?"
"You know that gold heart locket in the window? Is there any chance you can reserve it for me? I'll come by today to fetch it."
"Yeah, course mate." The young-ish bloke nodded.
"Thank you so much." Louis beamed, "what time do you shut?"
"5:30. Anytime before then will be fine to fetch it."
"Again, thanks lad. Dunno why you would but don't mention it to him." Louis nodded his head towards Harry who was looking through some rings.

"Got it." The man nodded, giving Louis a smile.
Louis thanked him once more before walking back to Harry. "Anything you like?"
"There's stuff here that I like but not really that I love."
"Shall we move on?"
They did so, Harry dragging Louis into shop after shop and pointing out clothes he thinks Louis should buy.
Louis bought some of the ones he thought might suit him, and by the time they were ready for lunch Louis had a fair few clothes, thankfully. He hadn't bought new clothes in a while, always having no idea what he was even looking for.
Harry had insisted on buying a little cat ornament for Louis, white with little pink hearts, and for himself he'd bought a matching bunny.
Louis thought it was adorable.
//
"Lou, how do I look?" Harry giggled, pulling a feather boa around his neck.
"Fab-u-lous darling." Louis put on his best Craig Revel-Horwood act, flicking his wrist.
"Should I buy it? There's 4 for £3." He held up a purple and black one, the green still around his neck as he continued to look for another colour.
"Definitely. They're sick. Only if I can have one though."
"You can have this one." Harry pulled out a light blue one, "it matches your eyes."
Louis wrapped it around his neck, taking out his phone. "Selfie time!"
Harry grinned, opening his mouth slightly and tilting his head as Louis stuck out his tongue.
"Can you send it to me?"
"Of course." Louis looked at the photo. It was adorable.
They paid before walking outside the shop, Harry looking through his bag.
"Right I need a wee." Louis stated, "do you wanna meet me outside that record shop you wanted to get something from?"
"Yeah, okay."
Louis gave him a thumbs up before making his way to the jewelry shop from early.
He collected the locket with a grin. Harry was going to be over the moon.
//
"I've got a surprise for you Harold." Louis whispered in his ear as he creeped up behind him.
Harry jumped, turning around looking slightly shocked before a smile spread across his face.
"Do you?"
"I do. Let's go wait for the ferry and I'll give it to you then."
Harry nodded giddily, "okay."
They began to walk, Harry trying to find out what the surprise was- despite the fact that the ferry was only 2 minutes away.
"We're here. What is it?" Harry asked excitedly. "Is it another cat ornament? Or a bunny? Or a bambi?"
"You mean a deer?" Louis chuckled.
"Yeah, is it a bambi?"
Louis's heart melted at the fact that Harry called all deers Bambi. Harry just kept getting more and more adorable.
"It's not a bambi I'm afraid. But it's even better."
"Better than a bambi?" Harry jumped up a little before seeming to catch himself getting too over-excitable. "Sorry, just tell me to shut up or-"
"It's better than a bambi." Louis smiled warmly. "Now why would I tell you to shut up?"
"I'm being annoying aren't I?"
"No Bambi, you're not being annoying. You're allowed to have emotions you know?"
"But I can keep them to myself if you'd prefer?"
"No. Absolutely not. I want to know all of your emotions."
"Okay." Harry sighed softly.
"Close your eyes and hold out your hands."
Harry did so and Louis placed the locket in his hands.
"Open."
Harry gasped, a grin breaking out across his face. "What?"
"If my face isn't in one side of it I'll be very disappointed." Louis teased, enjoying the way Harry didn't seem to be able to stop smiling.
"It will be." Harry admitted quietly.
"So, do you like it?"
"I fucking love it." Harry murmured, before practically pouncing on Louis tightly.
"Alright, alright. Steady on." Louis laughed in surprise, stumbling back with the force of the hug.
"You're the best person in the world." He said under his breath, placing a small kiss on Louis's cheek.
