《To Be A Dad (Irondad and Spiderson)》19: The Good Doctor

Stephen Strange was excited when Jarvis reached out to him and didn't hesitate to invite Tony to his home so they could talk. He wasn't expecting to see Tony with a child. Then again he never really kept up with the media, but he did feel bad for not keeping up with Tony. He and the billionaire were friends for some time, both early in their careers but once things got more complicated they fell apart. Tony was the only man who Strange actually got along with, not finding him too annoying.

Either way, he was happy Jarvis reached out to him and was delighted to see Tony and Rhodey and the new CEO of SI and Tony's kid. Stephen was sure that his heart melted when he saw the child hide away in Tony's neck. He definitely looked like Tony, big brown eyes and fluffy brown hair, the only difference is Peter has delicate pale skin and Tony has a nice tan.

"Mr. Stark." Stephen greeted and Tony smiled, happy to see his old friend.

"Doctor." Tony chuckled before looking at Peter. "This is my son, Peter." Stephen smiled, not huge on kids but he guesses he could make an exception.

"Hello Peter, I'm Stephen." Peter shyly looked over, causing the surgeon to coo at him. He offered him his hand and Peter hesitantly shook it.

"Gonna help daddy?" Peter asked a small frown on his face. Stephen had to say Peter was truly adorable.

"Yes, I'm gonna help your dad. Can he have candy?" The doctor asked Tony who nodded and Stephen mentally thanked Christine for the taffy she gave him earlier before handing the pink-colored candy to Peter. The child shyly thanked him and took the sweet.

"Let's go inside and we can discuss." They all took a seat, Peter sitting in Tony's lap, looking around the huge living room. "You can let in explore, everything can be replaced." Tony looked at Peter seeing the child look at the huge window that overlooked the city.

Tony let Pete go and the child looked over at him hesitantly before walking away from the group. Peter walked to the huge window, looking out and sitting. Peter had never been to any huge city, he's been so used to peaceful and quiet Malibu, so he was fascinated to see all the skyscrapers and different cars that littered the streets.

He giggled as a pigeon landed near the window, the gray bird moving its head to look at him. He looked back at his dad who was still talking to Stephen. Peter kept his gaze on Stephen, the taller man seemed scary but his dad seemed to look very worried.

Is daddy okay? Peter wandered over, gently pulling on Tony's pants making him look down to him. He smiled and lifted him up into his arms. "So is it possible without too much risk?" Tony asked the doctor who was still looking at the files.

Stephen often did surgeries with a very low success rate, but this was different. Usually, he didn't do surgery on friends, on people he knew, but Tony needed his help. And he's guessing he isn't doing this for himself, he's probably doing it for Peter. "There are a lot of risks, but I can do it, we just have to work quickly. In the end, though Tony it's up to you."

They held eye contact for a moment and Stephen had concern and determination written all over his face. Tony nodded. "Let's do it." Stephen smiled, he glanced at the child who was looking at him with hopeful eyes. Stephen would try his best for Peter.
