《To Be A Dad (Irondad and Spiderson)》14: Jar and Pete

Peter leaned against Jarvis, eyes drooping as he watched the older man flip a page. He reached out to touch the face of Peter Pan, giggling softly. Jarvis smiled and brought the kid closer, cuddling him.
Peter snuggled into Jarvis' coat, yawning as he clutched the fabric. "Do you want me to keep reading?" The older asked, gently rubbing Peter's back. The child nodded, glancing over at the brightly colored book.
"Yeah." He mumbled, nuzzling back into the new human. Jarvis kept reading, chuckling quietly when he heard soft snores. He closed the book, setting it aside before cuddling Peter to his chest.
He doesn't remember dozing off, well not exactly dozing, just entering the network and catching up with things. But he only woke up when he felt someone come into the room.
"Who are you?" Pepper asked when she saw Jarvis was awake, eyes on the child in his lap. "Tony didn't tell me of any babysitter or nanny."
"Miss Potts you have to keep your voice down." Jarvis smiled a bit at the shock on her face. "I can assure you I am no stranger. "
"Jarvis? But what happened to you?" She watched as he got up, bundling Peter up in his arms. She didn't miss the possessive hold Jarvis had on the baby.
"Sir and I were busy on a project, but now that I am complete, he should be able to take care of Peter full time." She didn't really trust him but didn't voice her opinion.
"Is Peter okay with you being, " She gestured to him. "Human?" She finished, following him upstairs to Peter's bedroom.
"He was quite delighted to have finally met me. " The tall man gently put the little one down, wrapping him up with a blanket, then motioning Pepper to follow him. He left the door just a little bit open before walking towards the lab.

"What is it with you always being his favorite?" She chuckled, following the blond. He smiled and shrugged.
"I guess he just likes me."

Jarvis pouted at Peter, making the two-year-old pout back before giggling. The man smiled and gently poked Peter's sides, making him laugh. "No Jar! No!" The toddler giggled and pushed away his hands.
The blond chuckled and stood up, placing Peter on his hip. "Want to make a cake?" He asked, grinning when Peter jumped in his arms.
"Yeah! Chocolate?" The older nodded and sat him down on the counter, grabbing a chair and letting the child stand next to him. He glanced at the clock, they had about an hour before Tony would come home.
Peter watched as Jarvis added different ingredients into a bowl. He then slid it over to the child. "Can you mix this?" He would glance over every once and a while, mixing a bowl of frosting, smiling as Peter mumbled and hummed.
Peter blinked when Jarvis smeared red frosting on his nose. "Hey! Not nice!" The boy giggled, reaching into the batter to smear on Jarvis' suit.
The older chuckled and grabbed a towel, cleaning off the goop. "That wasn't nice either Pete." Peter stuck his tongue out, watching the blond pour the batter into a pan.
Tony came in an hour or so later, chuckling as he saw Peter and Jarvis add sprinkles to a red frosted cake. "What did you two do?"
Peter turned and jumped out of the chair, hugging his dad. "Daddy! Cake!" Jarvis smiled and leaned against a counter, watching Tony pick up Peter.
"Welcome back, Sir. How was your meeting?" The genius walked closer shaking his head slightly?
"Terrible but I think the cake can make my day better. Will you share?" He asked Peter, who nodded cutely.
"Course!" He giggled, reaching out for a piece. "Me first!"
