《Stolen // Irondad》Chapter 7

"Do I have to go to school?"
Peter glanced up at his dad, his eyes wide like a puppy's. It had been a week since they had rescued him from Hydra - and he had spent most of that time under constant watch from both Bruce and Stephen.
Tony looked at his son, Peter's expression made him feel guilty: and he wasn't sure why. As he sat down beside him, he ruffled the kid's scruffy, brown hair.
"I thought you liked school, Pete."
Peter looked at the floor, trying to avoid eye contact with his father, "I do, it's just... I don't feel ready to go back yet."
Tony didn't know what to say: he didn't want to force the kid into a hard situation, he just was certain there was more to the story.
"Well, you can stay off today. But tomorrow you're going. And that's final."
Tony stood back up, pulling the Iron Man blanket off of Peter - wrapping it round himself.
"Hey that's mine!", Peter exclaimed, jokingly, as he jumped up after his dad.
"And it's got me on it."
They laughed. Moments like this made Peter forget about all that had happened to him, but it wouldn't last long. Eventually... it would all come flooding back.

Peter followed Tony into the dining room, taking a seat by the table. His dad passed him a plate - a full English breakfast on it.
"Dad, are you going to stay at the Tower with me?"
"I've got a meeting now, kiddo, but I'm sure someone else will be around."
Peter nodded his head, stuffing his face with all of the food on his plate. He'd probably just watch movies all day - at least he didn't have to stay in the medical room. But his hunger didn't completely mask his disappointment.

"If it makes you feel any better, Spider-Boy, you can come on patrol with me later."
Peter smiled, that did sound like fun, "Yeah, maybe I'll do that."
Tony put on his sunglasses; then he hugged his son, stealing a piece of toast off of his plate.
"Bye, Underoos," he said, as he walked out of the room.
"Bye."

Clint walked in on Peter, as the kid was putting his empty plate in the dishwasher.
"Hey, Peter," he exclaimed, sitting down onto the sofa, picking up one of the fluffy, white pillows: and throwing it at the teen.
"Hi, Uncle Clint," he muttered, catching the cushion.
He walked over towards the older man, sitting down next to him.
Clint picked up a copy of Star Wars: Revenge Of The Sith, and passed it to Peter, "Wanna watch this, with me, young Padawan?"
Peter sighed, embarrassed: "Sure thing, Master Kenobi."
By the Battle of the Heroes scene, Clint and Peter had acquired two lightsabers - reenacting the fight.
"This is the end for you my master," Peter yelled - attacking Clint with his plastic, laser-sword.
"It's over, Peter, I have the high ground," Clint replied, jumping from the floor onto the sofa.
"You underestimate my power!"
"Don't try it."
Peter jumped at Clint, and got knocked to the floor - but instead of feeling the light, toy weapon hit his body, his Uncle started tickling him.
"Hey," Peter protested, trying not to laugh, "Stop, Clint, Stop!"
"Are you admitting Hawkeye is stronger than Spider-Kid?", he teased.
"Spider-Man! And no, Spidey is way stronger than bird-brain."
"Bird-brain? Alright then."
Clint continued to tickle the boy, only stopping when Steve and Nat walked into the room.

The three made eye contact, and after a pause of silence - they all burst into laughter.
"Hey kid, glad to see you're doing well," observed the Captain.
"Oh... Uh... thanks," Peter stammered, not knowing what to say.
Nat walked over to the pair, who were lying on the floor. "Get up, I thought we'd take you two kids somewhere."
After they were both stood up, Clint out his hand on his chest - pretending to look offended, "Did you just call me a kid?"
Nat acted shocked, and annoyed at herself for making such a mistake, "Oh dang it, I meant to say baby."
Peter smirked, as he watched Clint shove Nat backwards.
"You wanna go there, Romanoff?," he joked.
"In front of the Spiderling? Maybe not."
Both Steve and Peter were now midway through a fit of giggles, both trying their upmost best not to give in to the humorous situation. And both failed, miserably.
Nat glared at the soldier and spider, a fake frown across her face. In one of her hands were the keys to an Audi, one of Tony's probably.
She simpered, "Come on, boys, let's go."

Peter still didn't know where they were going: even now that they were in one of his dad's car - driving to whatever destination Nat had planned for them.
Instead of talking to the two of his idols, and Clint, he spent the whole journey staring out of the window. Occasionally, one of the adults would check on him, asking if he was okay, then he would reply with a grunt: signally he was fine.
Then at last, after what seemed like forever - they reached their destination.
Peter leaped out of the car, with a smile so big he would have won the award for the largest grin. Nat had brought them to:
Peter had never been before. Or at least he hadn't since he had moved in with his Aunt and Uncle. If he had been with his parents... well he couldn't remember.
The only person who looked more excited than Peter was Clint. But of course he did. He was Clint. However, before Nat would let the pair out towards the park - she handed Peter his suit.
"We can't have any rumours spread about the Avengers and the teenager now, could we?"
So Peter reluctantly put on his suit, realising he probably should of asked his dad how the air-conditioning worked.
The group bypassed the entrance queue - after the security guard had taken photos with Nat, Steve, Peter and an extremely flattered Clint. I mean who ever asked him for photos? This meant they could get in without the hassle of waiting in line for hours.
"Which ride first then boys?," Nat asked, hoping they'd choose the right option.
"Can we go on the Hulk ride!" Peter pleaded, and even through his mask you could see his puppy eyes showing.
"They have a Hulk ride, but no Hawkeye one? What's wrong with this place?" stated Clint, who was actually a little annoyed.
"Come on, Spiderling, I have a feeling we won't have to wait in queue for long."
The three boys and the assassin rushed off into the crowd, headed for Islands of Adventure.

Starchild
“It’s life’s illusions I recall. I really don’t know life at all.” from the song, Both Sides Now, by Joni Mitchell Starchild is an adventure novel set within an understanding of reality that is rooted in Eastern spiritual traditions. It takes as its starting point experiments in remote viewing that were genuinely undertaken by the American military in the nineteen-nineties under the name of the Stargate Project. It then imagines how a more advanced attempt to weaponise the capabilities of consciousness might have been developed in the present day.The story then explores how Ultimate Reality might respond to such a threat.Deep, elemental forces thus bring together Samantha Martin and Sahadeva Varma, old colleagues from the Stargate Project, to avert the apocalyptic consequences of this military attempt to weaponise consciousness. This fast-paced story spans genres including romance, action, adventure, science fiction and more. Although this story is based on concepts drawn from established spiritual traditions, these have sometimes been extrapolated to the point of very extreme speculation for the needs of an adventure story.Much of the underlying philosophy, however, as explained in the dharma talks given by Samantha Martin, is paraphrased from the guidance of respected spiritual teachers. Scheduling: Starchild is a previously unpublished novel of one hundred thousand words which was serialised in weekly instalments over twenty-five weeks from 15th November 2021 to the 29th April 2022. Each instalment contains five chapters – an average of approximately four thousand words in each instalment. Amir: A Short Horror Story
"My throat became dry; my tongue felt like sandpaper scraping against the top of my mouth. My mind became fuzzy. I had no chance of survival against this, this thing, and It was toying with me. It seemed to see the fear in my eyes and laughed, the metal sounding voice screeching like nails on a chalkboard. " I wrote this when I was young, and I haven't touched it since 2019, so don't worry about it.
