《You Don't Scare Me ( Laughing Jack X Reader )》Chapter 35

(Y/n) shivered as the cold water dropelts ran down her neck. Her teeth were chattering. She was still in better shape than if she had gotten her clothes wet. She was actually doing pretty well considering her current situation.

Once she ran from the river, she ran until she was sure she was close to her time limit. The forest seemed to only get thicker. She wanted to climb a tree but she had done that already and it didn't really work out in her favor.

She quickly decided against it. As she continued moving in an unknown direction she came across a hole dug underneath a large oak tree. It reminded her of the rabbit hole Alice fell into in one of the children's books her mother read to her as a child. She envied Alice, she would much rather be chasing a rabbit than be chased by a monochrome clown who kills children as a hobby.

The hole was dug into pretty deeply, she couldn't see the end, "this could be a good spot to hide", she thought. This could be a successful hiding spot but it could also be her doom. What dug that hole? Whatever it was, was it still in there? Not likely because knowing the creatures she has already encountered it most likely would have attacked and/or killed her already. The better question would be would it come back? This would mean certain doom for sure. However, life is about taking risks and she was pretty sure she only had a few minutes left, meaning her hands were tied.

The malnourished girl took off her shoe and tossed it into the hole. Once she was 100% sure nothing was lurking in the shadows she hopped in the hole much more gracefully than Alice had in that silly book.

She sat on the ground, back facing the darkness. The light reflecting off of the snow was the only light she had, it would be stupid to just crawl into darkness. She scooted backward, hands feeling around behind her waiting to hit some sort of wall or end to the little caver, which did eventually happen, just much later than she expected.

The hole seemed to go back at least 8 feet, which is much more than she had originally thought. She continued to feel around, it was much harder to see due to the lack of light. Her right hand grasped something hard and smooth, she pulled in front of her and brought it close to her face to attempt to see what the mystery object was. As her eyes adjusted to the dark, she could vaguely make out the shape of the object, it took everything she had to suppress the scream that formed in her throat. She was holding a human femur.

Jack quickly teleported into multiple places throughout the forest, he didn't know where his plaything was, but he let his pal EJ place the girl somewhere in the uncharted forest so it would be fair. Sure he was a lot of things, but he wasn't a cheater. He liked his games fair, it makes it all the more satisfying when he wins. As true as that may be, it doesn't take out the fact that he did enjoy the occasional loophole. He loves how angry his victims get when he slips through the fine print of their deal.

This would be no exception with (Y/N). She was by far his most interesting and exciting playmate. She was emotional, smart, and even though she is terrified most of the time she does her best to hide it from Jack, that's Jack's most favorite thing about her. Her pride.

The clown continued to teleport deeper and deeper into the woods, looking for his most prized possession. Too bad for you luck seemed to be on his side. The clown kneeled to get a better look at the tracks that were pressed into the snow. They were indeed yours, he smirked to himself, this was going to be easier than expected. It had only been 10 minutes and the clown had already caught your tail. Jack was indeed pleased with himself. He popped a small piece of candy into his mouth, quietly humming to himself as he followed your foot prints that were pressed into the snow.

Jack reaches the river in around 10 minutes, even though it took you around 20. His strides were 2 times larger than yours, this was to be expected. But LJ's smile seemed to fade once he realized that your tracks led into the river and didn't come out the other side.

He knew you weren't dead, he can thank the lovely mark he gave you for that one. That didn't mean you weren't dying, the mark couldn't tell him that. He didn't want you to die so soon especially to have something as silly as hypothermia take you out, that would be a bummer. He wanted to play some more. Your sudden death would surely devastate him.

He had to find you sooner rather than later, he couldn't draw out his fun as he had first planned. His original plan was to find you quickly and watch you struggle to escape until the very last minute, making you think you've won. He wanted to watch all your hope you had built up drain from your face right before his very eyes!

As much as he wanted that to happen you were no use to him dead. He signed, crossing his long arms across his chest. He then pouted like a toddler, grunting in irritation. He knew you were smart but he was hoping you would have another nervous breakdown and panic, leading you to lose your touch and slip up a bit.

Now it was very obvious to the clown that you have come up with some sort of plan. He grasped his chin with his right clawed hand in a thinking matter. He could just teleport but he could risk missing more of your prints, but if he did he would cover more ground. He decided to teleport every 10ft or so, to cover as much ground as possible but being careful enough not to pass you.

"Jack has most definitely starting searching", you thought. You cuffed your hands, brought them up to your mouth, and exhaled in an attempt to warm them. Once you somewhat pulled yourself together after discovering you were sitting in a hole full of human bones, you started counting so you would somewhat have an idea of how much time you had left. If your numbers were correct Jack had started looking around 50 minutes ago, so he had around 10 to find you. Again this is your estimate that could be off, which you hoped not, your life depended on it. You haven't heard a sound of any kind in the forest above you. You wanted to look out but you were afraid of walking right into Jack or whatever the f**k inhabited that god damn hole you were currently squatting in.

This last hour has to be the longest of your whole life! What were you gonna tell everyone once you went back home? "Hi sorry mom I got taken by a clown that kills children and I lived in a dusty crusty old mansion full of murders lead by a faceless man for a couple of months?"

You shook your head at your bluntness. You were gonna need years of therapy after this experience.

Snap! "Oopsies!"

"Oh sh!t", you thought.

Quickly covering your mouth to silence your breathing as much as you could, not wanting to alarm whatever was standing just outside the hole opening.

"Oh Gumdrop! Where are you?! Hehe!"

The clown called out childishly as if you would answering him.

God damn he caught up to you quickly.

You began to slightly panic, you were so freaking close to home. You didn't think you left any tracks leading to the hole but now you were second-guessing.

"Ya know Gumdrop, I was so sure I would find you super quickly, hehe. But once again you surprised me".

That stupid giggle always freaked you out.

"You can come out honeybun~ I know you're in that hole."

Was he bluffing?

The sound of crunching snow, grew louder as the clown approached the opening.

"If you come out on your own I will make you sufferless~".

If you didn't come out would he wait till the last second? Did he really know where you were? Why didn't he just drag you out now?

You decided to stay silent willing to call his bluff. His shadow began to cover the light from the mini cave's entrance.

"I was hoping you would have it the fun way", you could just picture the nasty smirk he had on this face. The sinister one he showed you right before he hurt you. You squeezed your eyes shut and hugged your knees tightly, pressing your forehead against them, waiting for his monstrous claws to dig into your flesh.

"Let the real fun, begin~"

The feeling of pain never came but the ear pricing screech was enough to make you fall over and cover your ears.

Jack assumed the girl was in the oversized rabbit hole. He would rather not go in to get her though, considering the clown hated small spaces thanks to his past pal Issac. Alas, he had to do what had to be done. The clown looked over the hole opening smirking as he did so. Readying his claws to drag the small girl out of the hole.

Jack immediately spun around when the ear-pricing scream rippled through the air.

The clown groaned in annoyance when he saw the source of the noise. The hairless clawed monster famously known as the Rake was staring very intently at Laughing Jack.

Jack laughed manically quickly realizing that (Y/N) was probably hiding in the beast's den.

"Oh my dearest (Y/N), you most certainly have gotten me into a rather big mess", Jack laughed.

"You always know how to keep me on my toes hehe!"
