《Historical Hamgelica》A Letter

A week later
"I'm going on a walk." Angelica called as she headed to the door.
"Be back before night!" Her father said, glancing up from the newspaper.
"I know father." She said, closing the front door and headed downtown.
Angelica walked into the tailor shop and was quickly greeted by what seemed to be the owner.
"Welcome Miss, are you here to find a new dress, or perhaps have one fitted?"
"No, thank you. I was just stopping by to talk to my friend-er, someone who works here."
"And who might that be?"
As if on cue Hercules walked up. "Angelica?"
"Hey-"
"Oh, my apprentice?" The man glanced between Hercules and Angelica, "How about I give you the rest of the day off Mulligan?"
"Oh-really? Thank you sir!" Hercules ran off to the back, coming back after a minute with his jacket. Angelica was waiting outside.
"Hey-" Hercules said and she spun around to face him. "Why'd you come here?"
"What, I can't just want to see an old friend?' Hercules raised an eyebrow, "....And I needed out of that damn house."
"And?" Hercules said, not letting up.
"And...I wanted to ask you about Alexander."
"There it is, come on." He said, starting to walk away from the shop and Angelica followed beside him.
"Nice beanie." She complemented before stealing the dark blue hat off his head, putting it on her own.
"Tha-hey!" He protested.
Angelica laughed and ran ahead of him. Happy that not many people were out at the moment.
"Angelica, what the heck? We're not teenagers."
"No, if we were teenagers then you would corner me against a wall to get your beanie, then stare into my eyes and I would knee you and run away."

"Haha." Hercules said, walking up to her. "Give me my hat or you aren't getting any advice from me on Alexander."
Angelica took the hat off, handing it back to him. After he put it back on he pulled a letter out if his coat pocket, handing it to Angelica.
"What's this?" She asked, taking it and turning it over.
"A letter from Alex to you. He didn't know where to send it to get it to you, so he sent it to ne and asked me to get it to you. Came in today."
Angelica opened it quickly.
Dearest Angelica,
I already miss you, and I'm sorry for however long it takes for this letter to get to you. I didn't know where to send it to get it to you the quickest. Hopefully it doesn't take too long if Hercules does his job.
Anyways, I've already had to leave New York again. For the most part, I go wherever General Washington goes. I believe we're supposed to come back in a few weeks. I sincerely hope we'll be able to meet each other again. The ball comes to mind at least once a day.
I imagine you may want to know how the war is going. Well, I can't help the most with informing you. Washington has yet to let me see battle since making me his right hand. I hope that will change soon, I ask him almost everyday if I could lead a battalion. And everyday he says no.
I miss you already Angelica. A person to talk to about important things. I don't get to see Hercules, Lafayette is off leading. I have John Laurens, but he is still a soldier so I don't even get to see him much. But you were something different, someone I could truly talk to and feel comfortable with. Someone who agrees with me, and if you didn't you would bring up truly good points and make me think. A level of intelligence one doesn't get much anymore.

Sincerely, Alexander Hamilton
Angelica read the letter quickly, smiling slightly at it. Hercules tried to look at it but she quickly put it against her chest.
"That sweet huh? To the level of hiding it?"
"More like it's just private?"
"Mmh. Whatever you say."
"Would you shut up?" She asked, jokingly.
"Sorry, I don't think I can do that."
Angelica grinned before they both started laughing and kept walking.
"So I have a question about Alexander," She said as they walked.
"Mmh, what is it?"
"Who the hell gave him permission to be that attractive?"
Hercules laughed, "I'm going to have to ask how he manages to charm every girl next time I see him."
"It's not even that but just...what's behind his eyes and his intellect and…" she trailed.
Hercules just stared at her for a good few seconds, "Girl, really?"
She looked back at him.
"This is probably the most hopeless I've ever seen you. You really like him that much?"
Angelica bit her lower lip out of habit. She does whenever she's thinking or worried.
"I don't know. I'm usually the rational one who doesn't run into everything, but…." She shook her head, "It doesn't matter. My father would never let me.. A man like him, he's penniless and according to my father, my one job is to marry rich. To social climb because he doesn't have any sons."
"Screw him."
"Sorry?"
"Your father. He doesn't get to control every aspect of your life. You should be able to marry who you want. Not just the ones he deems okay. He's too hard on you. He always has been."
Angelica looked down, not saying anything.
They walked silently for a while.
"I should probably head home. My father is going to wonder why I've been gone so long."
"Let me walk you home?"
"If my father sees you he'll probably kill you."
"Alright, bye Ang."
"Bye Herc."
The embraced before Angelica left, going back home. When she got home she headed straight to her room to write back to Alexander.
Dear Alexander,
I've missed you as well. I will hardly be able to wait until when you and Washington come back. When it comes to Washington just wait. You're time will come and he will let you lead will he believes the time is right…
She continued to write for about an hour.

Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image

Zombies
This is one of three stories that I am offering as a test run. If you like it, then I'll choose to continue working on it. I have a whole plot line ready to explore! What can I say, I'm a sucker for rebirth, regression, and transmigration stories. This one is a regression story. The main character get's yeeted back in the past, to where the end began. Read on tortured souls as I do my best to break the weak, and sooth those who don't have a soul to break. I spent some time trying to make a story that explores all the gritty situations a resident of the apocalypse would encounter. Unfortunately, I do struggle with pace. I get just as impatient as you when I can't get to the next bloody encounter. But I despise OP characters, and I really wanna stop and explore the fascinating death of civilization. I write this in hopes of making a main character who get's to be the bad-ass I can't be, without, you know, skipping the good stuff.
