《Dr. Fate》We are together

💙
After a consultation and scheduling a surgery for tonight, I stop by Aria's room to check up on her and her parents. They ask me how Lana is and I inform them that she is doing fine right now. Like the last time they ask me to tell Lana that they are here for her and wish they could go see her. Of course Lana already said she understood and Aria's well being is more important than baby injuries.
After leaving Aria's room, I head back to Lana's where I find her sleep wrapped in Alex's arms with her parents nowhere to be found. Walking up to bed, I wake Alex up and glare at him.
"Why the hell is she sleeping? She's not supposed to fall asleep."
He shrugs and stretches. "If I had known I would've kept her awake."
Grumbling, I gently turn Lana off of him and cup her face in my hands. "Lana, wake up baby.
A soft moan leaves her lips and her eyes flick to mine before a smile reveals itself on her face. "Hi."
"I told you not to go to sleep," I grunt.
My anger and jealously dissipates when she hits me with an adorable pout. She's a heartbreaker and I can't help but kiss her while Alex slowly slides out of bed and picks up his keys from the bedside table. Sadly our kiss is cut short when Lana grabs Alex's arm and kisses his cheek before saying their goodbyes and watching him walk out.
"I don't like him," I admit running my fingers over her jaw and subtly inspecting her eyes.
Lana smiles and places another gentle kiss to my lips. Then her facial expression turns serious and she locks eyes with me before saying words that throw me a little off balance.

"Promise not to hurt me," she says.
I would never hurt her. I want to make her happy and I want to love her and I want her to love me. But I don't want her to confess her love for me after a traumatic event that makes her question life or death and confess her love for me.
Bending over her, I kiss her lips and whisper two simple words. "I promise."
"Thank you for being here for me," she sighs.
"I would never leave you." And it's true.
Lana just smiles and pulls me down next to her, wrapping her arms around my waist and holding me close. She's so beautiful and amazing. I brush my thumb over her cheek, gently pushing her hair out of her face. She smiles up at me and rests her head against my chest.
I can't help but smile as I look at her. How did I get so lucky? After a few moments Lana asks for food and I go to the cafeteria to get her some food. When I come back she's not there.
First I check the bathroom and when I don't find her I ask one of the nurses, where she could possibly be at and she says on word: Aria. I should've known.
Taking the elevator and walking down the halls, I go to Aria's room where I find Lana laying in bed with Aria. Did she limp here? What am I going to do with this woman?
"Someone doesn't know what staying in bed means," I deadpan.
Lana just shrugs and glances at Aria. "I am in bed, just a different one."
Giving in I pass her the food and sit down in an empty chair. For hours we spend time with Aria and her family and I leave Lana there when I have to go back to work. I really wish I could spend all day with her, but at least she's mine. She's my girlfriend. We are together.

Summoner's Journey
[Before you read - the story is officially dead. The reasons behind it are posted in the last chapter.] In a magic world on the verge of an industrial revolution, Ari Ragnarsson must uncover the truth behind his parents' disappearance. They were part of an organization known as the Order, which protects mankind from various threats - both human and supernatural. Now, after Ari's brands finally manifest, he leaves the safety of his village and travels to the continent. Strength is all that matters in this world and he must learn how to control his powers. There, he meets a man from another world, who's being hunted for merely existing. Their fates become intertwined, but not in a way either of them would appreciate. Author's note (contains minor non-story related spoilers about the MC and setting) This is a progression fantasy with LITRPG elements sprinkled on top. The main character is not a spellsword, but a summoner/support mage hybrid. Since he wasn't ambushed by a random god, there's no cheat item/spell and he has to rely on his skills and wits to survive in a world full of monsters. The story tries to show the moment when the old starts to be replaced by the new, with a healthy dose of magic and a little steampunk in the background. Also, it revolves around a party dynamic akin to RPG sessions. No health/mana bars. Numbers are secondary and the LITRPG elements focus more on classes/spells/runes and their evolutions. Tables are sparse at the beginning, but from chapter 7 onwards they appear more often. Still, I won't be copy-pasting the whole character sheet dozens of times per chapter.
