《Kink // Luke Hemmings [COMPLETED]》-Chapter 3-

I brushed my fingers roughly through my hair before going downstairs to meet up with Luke and Amy. Somehow they had dragged me to come on a double date with them and their friend. By them, I meant Luke because he kind of set up the whole thing. All I knew about the guy I was going on this date with was that Luke owed him. I was in no fit state to dress up fancy just to go to Nando's with what I class as my friend and my sister + a random guy I've never met and probably will never see again. I simply wore a pair of grey skinny jeans and a loose flowery yellow top with a red flannel over the top. I wore mascara, eyeliner, and a nude matte lipstick.
"Right let's go then" I sighed as I came to the bottom step of the stairs. Luke smiled warmly at me but avoided eye contact which was odd but I didn't suspect anything. Amy, on the other hand, looked mad at me. If looks could kill then I would be dead already. I ignored her though and got into the back of Luke's car praying this night would hurry up and be over.
-----------/-----------
We made it to our table where my mysterious date was. He seemed like a simple guy. Short hair, glasses, button up shirt (which made me feel incredibly uncomfortable due to the fact I was heavily underdressed compared to everyone at the table) and loose jeans. He looked slightly older than me which I didn't mind but he just wasn't my type. He spent most the night talking to me about his crummy job which consisted of him checking things off a list all day. That involved a lot of effort on my behalf to act interested and fake smile like there was no tomorrow. My hopes for the night to speed by were short-lived and Luke and Amy decided they didn't want to help me talk to this man (who I later found out was called Ian but he failed to mention that). Instead Luke awkwardly glanced in our direction and occasionally "accidentally" kicked me under the table when we were "engaged in conversation" or we seemed like we were really "hitting it off". The night finally came to an end but that was not the end of it. I was so close to leaving the man who had bored me for two hours straight and going home to get changed into my oversized t-shirt and eat 50 tons of ice cream because, In all honesty, I didn't enjoy my food that much so I left most of it. As I was saying goodbye to Ian he asked the one question I was hoping he wouldn't ask. "Hey, can I have your number?" I felt like running away at this point. I had enough on my plate without him pestering me everywhere I went. I tried to come up with a clever answer that would let me get away but alas I could not. Just as I was about to give up Luke stepped in.

"Hey, Ian. Listen mate I'll see you soon. Yeah? We gotta go now. Gab you can get in the car now. See you mate" Luke waved at him as I practically ran and dived into the car. As we drove away I sat in silence taking a mental note to myself: thank Luke for saving you back there and kick his ass for making you go on that double date.
--------/--------
I threw my apartment keys onto My kitchen counter before going to the fridge for the ice cream I had mentioned previously. While sitting and eating Becky made her way over to me with the classic curious face of hers. "SO was the date fantabulous?" Becky asked stealing some of my ice cream.
"No, it was awful. The guy was nice and all but he was such a bore. He didn't make me laugh or even smile the whole date. I mean even Luke does yet he couldn't."
"So I'm guessing he wasn't the love of your life then" Becky slightly laughed at my exaggerated version of the night. I shook my head vigorously. "You know, Luke seems nice. Why don't you try to get closer to him"
"Not this again beck. I told you already, he's dating Amy and I'm not attracted to him like that"
"OKAY OKAY, I know he is but If you do feel certain feelings for him don't feel bad about it. Also, tell me because I can help"
"Becky, no. If I ever feel those things I cannot let them escape because Amy may be a bitch but she's still my sister. I'm not going to make Luke choose"
"So you do like him?"
"Well- no. I don't. But he is a really good friend of mine now and I'm afraid I might lose him because of Amy" Becky looked to her lap and gave me back the silver spoon that had remains of chocolate ice cream on it. She stood up and looked down at me. "The heart wants what the heart wants..." and with that, she wandered back to her room

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
