Jayla's pov
It has been a few months after the attack and two years since my brother left. He only texted my parents and that's how I would find out he was still alive. Now that I think of it he might think that I took his spot light when I was born because we were never really close. Even if I tried when I was young and followed him he would always send me home. Today was a special day since it was my 18th birthday. The weird thing was that I was not feeling any different from any other day. I brushed it off and continued my day like every other day. "Jayla your going to be late to school today!" My mother yelled as I heard her around the kitchen ready to go on her morning jogs after dropping me off. "Mom you don't have to drop me off I can drive you know," I said while stuffing my face with her home made beignets.
"Thanks mom for these they are soo good," I said as I enjoyed them to the fullest. "I'm glad and I'm driving you for that reason that you are my baby girl and I won't be able to drive you around for much longer," she said giving me a side hug, "mom you will always drive me around when I don't feel like driving," I said and she gave me a side glare and I just giggled. "Ok we'll time to go and happy birthday my princess," she said before grabbing her keys and giving me a kiss on the cheek before leaving to the car. I soon followed her not minding my scar any more since it keep the mean girls out of my way. A lot of them heard what happened and others created roomers. Either way they were too scared to ask the truth and I keep it that way to keep away from them.

Later at night my parents made me a special dinner. I was happy to know it would just be the three of us and that no one would be staring at my scar. People tend to stare even if they don't want to. Anyways dinner went fine and we watched a movie while we waited for my wolf to wake up and start shifting. The latter it got the more worried we started to get that we ended calling the doctor. Soon he arrived and did a regular checkup on me and said everything was ok just that my wolf might not want to show up soon as to protect me from the pain I would feel of being rejected. And that we needed to be ready because it would be a long day process. We all nodded at the new information and we got ready for bed.
After my birthday I started to get headaches here and there but as time went they started to get more and more painful. My eye sight started to get blurry or my hearing would get that annoying ring to it. After a few days I ended staying home and started homeschooling because the pain would get really bad I would sometimes faint from it. This did not only take a few days but started to go on for weeks. After a month of being in pain it was lucky a full moon tonight. I started to shift. I screamed my lungs out until finally it happened. I was on all fours and was staring at my self in my rooms mirror. My parents started opening my balcony doors so I would be able to stretch out and go on a run. As they did that I keep my eyes on me a beautiful wolf.

She was all black but still had some features I had. My scar sill on the left side of my face but I was happy that I had finally got my wolf. We jumped out the window and landed swiftly on the ground. Then we ran as fast as we could all the way to the lake that was near our pack. I love to go there during the spring when the flowers were in full bloom and the crystal water was running down the water fall. I have not been here in a while last time I did come by it was fall and now two years later it is the middle of winter. I will make sure to come back in the spring I said to my self before running back home.
