"Shana sweetie hurry up! Or otherwise, we are going to miss our flight!" Mom yelled from downstairs, papa carried her luggage to the Uber waiting outside.

"I'm coming! just give me one sec.."

I exclaimed back eyeing the stuff plopped around, I am nowhere near finished. Placing the last of mom's medicine I carried on with packing my clothes and other stuff that mom will need for the little expedition that she had planned for only two of us.

My brother was leaning leisurely on my door, giving me a stink eye and sarcastically retorting."You have been saying that for the past half hour."

I know it's a little confusing so let me just give a quick recap of my story...

I'm Shana Rajput, 24, with an amazing family and excellent degree in business from the most prestigious college of India, Delhi university. my mom is English and my papa is Indian and I have only one sibling that is currently standing at my door right now, my little brother Noah... I know nowadays mixed children have all the hype..but from childhood, I have been an introvert..not only because of being mixed but also due to having unique talents. The only closest friends that I have is my best friend Diya and Arman... they were always there for me whenever I needed them, I know Diya from kindergarten and Arman from Primary school. So my mom and papa see Diya as their second daughter...I have been residing in Delhi, India for as long as I remember and let me tell you we do have wi-fi here.

I love my family more than anything.... and the love that my mom and papa share is something that I dream of having in my life. My mom after her marriage came to India with my father. but we were that extraordinary family in India that stood out almost everywhere because of mom and me being me an introvert usually didn't like the limelight...but Diya and Arman were the only ones that didn't saw me as an alien, that's the reason we hit it off quickly... but Arman went to Russia to complete his business degree so that he can help his father's company...but we talk and catch up once in a while...

But these were all small problems that we faced...everyone has some in their lives, the main nightmare began six months earlier when we found out that mom was diagnosed with lung cancer.. my world had stopped... but after two months, I, papa and Noah decided that we will fulfil mom's every wish and her treatment will continue as doctors are suggesting.

That's the reason I am roaming in my home like a lost penguin, scouring things for our trip, mom always yearned to go on a trip with only me, without the boys, she says it'll be our ladies time making Noah groan in frustration every time.

Two hours later we have a flight to the Maldives. And currently, I'm losing brain cells here in my luggage. Anyways back to my brother.

"I realize as much but I have to pack all the things that mom is going to need there. Noah, you know how serious this is....." I replied while settling another pair of sundress in the suitcase, I slightly saw him rolling his eyes at me.

I will deal with him later after the trip. I have to knock some senses into him before he gets anymore out of his perceptions. This is the least I could do as his elder sister.

After another fifteen minutes and a whole session of shrieking and screeching I was finally done with packing, my suitcase in my hand and myself at the top of the stairs.

I just hope I didn't miss anything and this trip goes well...I mean what could go wrong in a six days trip to the Maldives...absolutely nothing...

Maldives here I come...
