《Hearts Of Glass #AdultFiction》Chapter 26

Gisette turned away from the front desk and saw Sarah outside on the sidewalk with Tex. She went straight to the elevators and entered the doors, pressing the button for Sam's floor.
Gisette pushed on the door, as Sam opened it, entering the room before he had a chance to speak.
"You left me at the bar last night!" She said furiously.
"I didn't leave you alone! Georgie was with you." Sam answered.
Gisette whirled around to face him, and narrowed her eyes. "That's not what I meant and you know it. We were just getting started, Sam. We were getting back together."
Sam shook his head. "No, we weren't."
"How can you say that?"
Sam saw the hurt in Gisette's eyes. He answered her in a soft voice, not wanting to cause her any more pain.
"Gisette, I'm sorry about last night. I can promise you that it will never happen again."
"You've said that before. You can't keep fighting it. You want it as bad as I do, Sam." Gisette stated.
She walked over to him and ran her hand down his bare chest, her fingers playing with the black hair on it.
Sam grabbed her hand and held it away from him. "This is what I mean. You have to stop doing things like that."
"I can do this with any other guy in the band and it doesn't affect them the way it does you." Gisette leaned against him and touched his chest with her fingertips, watching the skin shiver at her light touch and felt the muscles tighten.
"Now tell me that there is nothing between us." She said.
Sam took a step back from her. "Not anymore. It has to end here and now."
Gisette crossed her arms and leaned back on the wall, eyeing him narrowly. "Maybe your girlfriend should do the same then."
"What do you mean?"
"I heard two older women talking on the elevator this morning. They entered from this floor, so I'm guessing this is the floor their room is on. They were talking about a couple that was sitting in the hallway last night." She paused for effect. "The two were actually going at it, right there in the hall. The old ladies were appalled that this couple didn't take their lovemaking into their room."
Sam stared at Gisette. "That could have been anyone here."
"I don't think so. I think it was your own little Sarah."
Gisette mimicked the old ladies. "That little girl with the pretty long hair."
"We all made a lot of mistakes last night." Sam said shortly. He was trying not to picture Sarah with Tex, but his mind was filled with images of them together.
"Why are you and I the ones to pay? Why do you and I have to stop seeing each other while she runs off for a rendezvous with Tex this morning?"

"I don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Sarah went to breakfast with Trish this morning."
Sam headed for the door, pulling it open and Sarah spilled in after, her hand still on the doorknob.
Sam saw Tex standing in the hall and lunged at him, pushing him up against the wall. He grabbed Tex's shirt by the collar, twisting it in his fist.
"Stay the fuck away from Sarah!" He growled.
"Sam!" Sarah ran to him, pulling at his arm. "Let go of him!"
Gisette ran up on Sam's other side and put her hand on his shoulder. She spoke in a low, urgent voice.
"Stop it now, Sam. This is between you and Sarah. You can't jeopardize the band over this."
Sam angrily looked over at Gisette. She saw the fury in his eyes and she squeezed his shoulder tight.
"Think Sam! Think before you do anything." Gisette hissed.
Sam let go of Tex and stepped back, still glaring at him. "Stay away from her. I will kick your ass if I see you with her again." He directed his glare to Gisette. "Band or no fucking band!" He turned sharply and went into his room, slamming the door.
Tex straightened up off the wall and looked at Sarah. "You know where to find me if you need anything." He nodded coolly at Gisette and walked down the hall to his room.
Gisette looked at Sarah, who was watching Tex, her mouth open and shocked look on her face.
"This band better not break up because of you."
Sarah jerked her head around, giving Gisette a frosty glare. "Oh fuck you, Gisette. If it breaks up, it won't be because of me." Sarah turned and went into her room.
Sam was standing at the window, hands in his pockets, with his back to the room.
"What went on between you and Tex last night?" He asked Sarah, softly, while he stared out the window.
"I told you, he brought me back here after I was sick. He was taking me to his room, then going to get you." Sarah sounded defensive as she answered him.
"What happened before I got here? Before he took you to his room."
"Maybe we were doing the same thing as what you and Gisette were doing at the bar." Sarah snidely reminded him. Sam closed his eyes at the vision of what they could have been doing.
"And this morning? Why did you meet him this morning?" Sam turned to face Sarah, and leaned against the window sill, questioning her.
"I didn't plan on meeting him. I was with Trish, remember?" She stopped and it dawned on her that Gisette must have seen her and Tex this morning.
"What did that bitch tell you?" Sarah demanded.

"She said you were having a rendezvous with Tex. I didn't believe her until I saw it for myself."
Sarah walked up to Sam and stood before him. "What you saw out there was nothing more than two friends. But tell me, if I had walked in here a few minutes before, what would I have seen?"
"Nothing, except us talking."
Sarah shook her head, sadly. "I wish I could believe you, I really do. But you don't even seem to see when she's making her moves on you. And you fall for it every time. What is between you two? What kind of hold does she have on you?"
Sam turned to look out the window again, he chewed his cheek as he struggled for an answer. "I wish I knew." He whispered.
Sarah's heart gave its final crack. She gasped at the pain of it and struggled to stand straight and not double over. She managed to sit in the chair, drawing her knees up and wrapping her arms around them.
Sam knelt in front of the chair, holding onto Sarah's arms, he looked in her eyes.
"When Gisette and I start talking, I don't know what happens........" He lowered his head on her legs, shaking it as he spoke in anguish. "She just has this way to...it's her voice...fuck! I don't know how to say it!"
"So you think you still have feelings for her?" Sarah asked in disbelief.
"I don't know! We have a history, Sarah!" Sam stood up and shouted at her. "There are feelings involved!"
"You asked me to marry you! How could you do that if you still have feelings for her?" Sarah shouted in frustration.
"I know that if we're married, I will love only you. You will be my wife, that's a big difference from being my girlfriend. We would be tied together by our vows."
Sarah's hand found her necklace and she rubbed her fingers over the stone. "What about the vow you made with this? Doesn't it count?"
"Sweetheart, I vowed to love you. A marriage vow would just reinforce that one."
"No, I'm sorry." Sarah said, sadly. "You have to prove you can keep the first one."
"Then I will. I will show you that I can love only you." Sam stood up, pulling Sarah up from the chair and held her tightly. "I love you, sweetheart."
Sarah wrapped her arms around his neck, and sighed. "I know, Sam and I love you too."
Sam pulled Sarah up for a kiss, that turned into a long, slow, breathtaking one, as he walked her back to the bed. Sarah felt the back of her knees hit the mattress and lay down, slowly pulling him with her, both still enjoying the kiss.
As Sam slid his hand up her side, she suddenly pictured him with Gisette last night. She squinted her eyes, trying to shut it out, but it ran over and over in her mind, like a movie.
Sam felt her change in mood, and drew back to look at her. "What's wrong?"
"I'm sorry." Sarah covered her face with both hands. "I keep seeing you with Gisette."
Sam exhaled loudly as he flipped onto his back, "That is fucked up, Sarah."
"I know, I can't explain it!" She leaned over him and Sam saw the tears glistening in her eyes as she asked him. "Can we just......" Sarah bit her lip and swiped at her cheeks. "Can we just not do it right now?"
Sam felt the wetness from her cheeks on his chest, where Sarah had laid her head. He wrapped his arms around her. "Yeah..sure, Sweetheart." He held her close as she softly cried.
Sam eased a sleeping Sarah off his chest and onto her pillows. Then he lay down on his side, propping up his head so he could look at her. His hands ran down the length of her hair, and lifted the ends, watching as they slid through his fingers.
He wished he could start yesterday all over. There were so many things he would have done differently. And Sarah would have never been hurt so bad. Now, because of his actions, she was in pain and he felt it to his very core.
An idea popped in his head, and as he lay there, playing with Sarah's hair, it grew into a plan.
Sam went to the connecting doors to knock, then thought better of it and used the hallway door. He didn't want to wake up Sarah.
Georgie answered the door, with a bath towel wrapped around his waist. He cocked an eyebrow at Sam. "This better be some fucking emergency."
Sam looked over Georgie's shoulder and saw Trish in the bed with the sheet pulled up to cover her nakedness.
"I'm sorry, man. But I just got a great idea for tonight. I was hoping we could get the guys together and talk about it."
"Go, Georgie. Or I won't be able to walk by tonight!" Trish laughed.
Georgie smirked, "Go get the guys together and come back. I'll be ready."
"I'd kinda like to meet in one of their rooms. We might have to go over a song."
"Then come get me when everyone's ready." Georgie closed the door, then swung it back open, a look of caution on his face. "What about Tex?"
"I'll handle it."
