《The Bookstore》Chapter 12

Katsuki and Izuku sat in the hospital chairs munching on their cinnamon rolls silently.
When Katsuki finished was when he finally decided to speak up, "Is it true?" He asks.
Izuku stopped chewing and looked over at him, "Is what true?"
"Is it true that it's my fault you're deaf?" He asks not to make eye contact with the other man.
This question caught Izuku by surprise, but he knew one thing was true and it was that he wasn't ready to have this conversation just yet.
Katsuki raised an eyebrow at the silence which told Izuku that he was waiting for an answer.
He knew this conversation was going to come up either way as long as he kept running into Katsuki.
He took a deep breath and said "yes."
Katsuki just let out a whisper, "When?"
"It was that day after school when you got mad at me because I applied to UA, when you made that explosion."
Katsuki remembered that explosion clearly, he remembered that he slightly lost control over his quirk and made a bigger explosion than normal.
He played it cool like he intended to do it and left Izuku on the ground, he would have never expected something like this would happen.
"I'm sorry," was all he could say.
"I know," Izuku said standing up, "Even as bad as you were as a kid you would never try to hurt someone permanently. What happened was an accident and you didn't mean it, no one would have guessed that the outcome was the loss of hearing."
Katsuki was crying now.
Not a lot of tears but just a couple streamed down his face.
He sniffles and wipes his nose with his hand.
"Do you hate me for that?" He asks.
"No, I don't hate you." Izuku says, "It was years ago and it isn't that big of a deal anymore."
Izuku had thought about these conversations for days since Akio last brought it up, in the end he decided to forgive him.
He was just a stupid kid when he did it, its obvious that he had matured and isn't that bad anymore.
Katsuki smiled and got up to throw his napkin away, he came back to ser Izuku on his phone.

The door rings and both Katsukis and Izukus eyes dart towards the sound.
Izuku groans as Denki Kaminari enters the room.
"Oh hey Freckles, um yeah, so my nose started hurting a lot and there was a hospital right here where I decided to check it out." Kaminari says, he turns towards Katsuki and smiles, "Hey Bakugou! What are you doing here?"
"I'm just here to make sure his friend is ok," Katsuki says, "What are you here for?"
Kaminari turns his head at an angle facing Izuku.
Izuku's face was red and he was trying not to laugh waiting for him to answer.
"Someone decided to attack me at the fucking cafe today," Kaminari says, keeping eye contact with Izuku.
"Aw that sucks, there are some really crazy psychopaths out there who do stuff like that. I hope you're ok," Katsuki says sitting down next to Izuku.
Izuku's eye twitches, "Maybe the person had a perfectly good reason to punch you."
Kaminari was now the one trying not to laugh, "Deku! There's no good reason to randomly punch a hero at 9 am."
Izuku took a sip of his coffee, "You'd think so."
Suddenly there was a loud cry that echoed throughout the hospital and the two heroes immediately sprung into action.
"What was that?" Kaminari asks Katsuki.
"Oh that's just Akio, I know this because he made the same sound when he stubbed his foot yesterday,"Izuku said, throwing his empty coffee cup away.
Soon after that Akio came through the doors holding his nose and glaring at Izuku.
He was grumbling something and took the cinnamon roll out of his hand and took a bite out of it.
"You didn't say that fixing a broken nose was going to hurt that bad," Akio grumbles.
"I never said anything about whether it hurt or not," Izuku says, playing with his hair.
"Whatever," he says rolling his eyes.
"Woah dude!" Akio looked up to see Kaminari smiling with bruises forming over nose.
"Charge Bolt? Woah you are like one of my favorite heroes!" Akio got a closer look at the bruising, "What happened to your face? Did I miss another fight?"
"No I was attacked by a certain someone," Kaminari says discreetly nodding his head towards Izuku.

"Seriously Izuku? Two in one day?" Izuku looked away and didn't say anything, "But like- why him though?" Akio asks.
"It's a long story that doesn't concern you. And before you say anything, I bought him a drink, " Izuku glared at Akio.
Izuku gets up and pats Kaminari on tha back and whispers a quiet, "Again I'm sorry."
"Well anyways, it was nice meeting you Kaminari and it was good to see you Katsuki. I gotta get going for work or else my boss will get even more mad," Izuku yawned, waved and walked out the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of course that was a lie.
In reality he was just going to meet up with Kirishima and vent to him about all his problems starting with the whole Kaminari thing.
"What do you mean that it might be your fault that Kaminari asked me out?" Kirishima says slurping on the strawberry banana smoothie he got.
"Well I may or may not have ran into him today," Izuku said slowly choosing his words carefully.
Kirishima frowned, "That was you wasn't it?"
Izuku chuckled nervously looking around the room except at Kirishima, "W-what do you mean it was me?"
"I saw Kaminari earlier when I left to meet up with you. I noticed he had a black eye." Kirishima explains.
"In my defense, I didn't know that he was going to not fight back ok? He's a pro hero and he should know how to deal with random people attacking him," Izuku said, whispering to the rest, "I was also really pissed off about what he did to you."
"That doesn't mean you fucking attack him!" Kirishima cries.
"Im sorry, I didn't know what the hell I was doing!"
"Fine, fine, now what does that have to do with you being the reason he wont date me?"
"You know about him and Shinsou right?" Kirishima's face turned into a scowl and replied with, "Yeah, he cheated on him with some whore."
Ouch, that one really stung.
Izuku clears his throat and continues, "Kaminari told me that he didn't have the guts to do it because he was afraid that your guy's relationship would end up like theirs."
Kirishima understood it now and kind of felt bad for pushing him so much.
"Oh also..."
"Yeah?"
"Um yeah so it was a while ago I used to have a thing for sleeping around with random guys and let's just say that I ended up meeting Shinsou at a bar one day."
Kirishima's eyes widened.
"Wait so you're telling me that you were the person that Shinsou cheated on him with was you?" Kirishima asked.
"I'm going to be honest right now. I had no clue he was in a relationship. If I had known he was I wouldn't have stepped anywhere near him no matter how smoking hot he was. Kaminari didn't deserve what happened." Izuku ranted, "Maybe if i wasn't such a horny teenager and just studied like normal people-"
"Then Shinsou would still be with Kaminari right now," Kirishima interrupts, "Yeah, they would still be together and I would be heartbroken and alone."
"Your right..." Izuku says.
"I don't really give a shit about Shinsou because I never knew him, but some selfish part of me is happy that he cheated on him. Because now Kaminari moved on." Kirishima says.
"Thanks Kiri, you make me feel so much better now," Izuku says, giving him a big smile.
"No problem," Kirishima says, returning the smile with one of his own.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Izuku groaned as Shindou chewed on his bottom lip.
He was currently straddling the taller man while he had his wet tongue shoved down his throat.
Akio was out with his friends and Izuku knew he wasn't coming back until the next morning.
It was kind of crazy that Shindou randomly showed up at his door again asking for him to forgive him.
And of course being Izuku he did.
He was feeling extra forgiving today for some reason.
And now they are making out on his bed with Izuku's fingers grabbing at his brown hair.
He gasps as Shindou moves his lips onto his neck and starts slowly sucking at it.
When he was satisfied with the marks he created on his neck he moved his lips back to Izuku's.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

From the nothingness I appeared. Bodiless, voiceless, ageless, I have only thoughts and emotions to guide me. My one connection to the world lies in the hearts of a small colony of lizards, just on the cusp of maturing. I reach out to them without hands, inspiring them to be more than what they are, shaping their bodies from visions of lost memories. But where do the memories come from? I am always left with more questions than answers. In my lonely shapeless existence the lizards cannot hear my words, and they cannot feel my touch, and I must wonder, do I even really exist? --- Called emotional, abstract, and beautiful by readers, this story is an observational account of a disembodied entity that has the power to influence and change a race of mildly intelligent lizard creatures. Memories of a previous life often serve as inspiration, but also generate questions as to whom the entity might have been before it became an Overseer. (presented in short chapters) (Thank you readers for getting my story into the top 5 ;u; ~
