《gilbert blythe and lucas jade zumann imagines》Lucas Zumann|7 minutes in heaven pt. 1

You weren't the most outgoing teenager. Most of the time you spent your nights at home watching movies or drawing stupid things that'd just get thrown away later.

It's not that you were a loner, or some girl with insane anxiety. Sure, you had it, but that wasn't why you stayed home all the time. The comfort and smell of your room just seemed to make you forget about your worries.

Stupid worries, the kind teens have that won't matter quicker than the problem came.

It's Friday night and all you wanted to do was curl up in bed and binge watch a show on Netflix, Supernatural was your go to right now, but no. Your friend, Alec, was dragging you to some girls party.

She promised it wasn't going to big, 30 or 40 people max. And you blindly agreed, mainly because she was mentioning how you hadn't done something fun on a weekend in forever.

"If some boy touches me in any way without my consent we leave automatically, okay?"

Alec rolls her eyes at you, "okay fine. But I highly doubt that will happen."

You sat in the passengers seat with your heart beating out of your chest. Nerves seemed to be swimming around you right now, pinching and poking at you until you got to the house.

There was about a dozen cars, a lot fewer than expected.

"Watch me walk into a room where a girl is getting fucked and I have to apologize, just like in the movies. I'm telling you Alec, you know how bad my luck is! Do you remember freshmen year when I liked Preston Argraves, and I saw him at Walmart and ran into the carts? That was so embarrassing. I bet there's gonna be some cute boy who sees me do something stupid," you had to catch your breath. At this point your were rambling out of anxiety and nerves.

Alec locks her arm with yours, "I promise that I won't let anything bad happen to you. If a boy touches you, I'll punch him. If you embarrass yourself I'll face plant in front of everyone. See, problem solved." She wears a proud smile on her face.

"You're too good for me."

"Yeah I am."

When you entered the smell of sweat and alcohol seemed to hit you in the face. The music was loud, playing something you didn't even recognize. People were dancing, some closer than others.

"Do you want me to stay with you?" Alec asks.

She knows that sometimes you want to venture off on your own and others you want someone so close they're breathing down your neck. It always all depends.

Right now you had random strangers brushing up against you, and the number one thought was space.

"You can go, I'll be fine."

Alec kisses your cheek before running off to either make friends or get drunk, probably both. You weren't sure how Alec was your bestfriend. You'd known one another since 2nd grade, but you were the polar opposite from her.

She was/is a wild child who likes doing something insane and new just about every night. Sure, you'd like to be like her at certain times. But your mind constantly hits you with the what if's, so you tend to just lay low.

You really weren't sure what to do. The couch was full and had couples making out on it, and every where you turned there was drunk people grinding. Sudden regret of coming settles in your stomach.

Your eyes begin to scan the room for some sort of exit, the front door wasn't an option. There's no way you were going to even attempt in pushing past the grinding couple.

Before you knew it you were walking towards the back of the house, It's was just as crowded as the front. But luckily the back door wasn't blocked by anyone besides a trash can. You easily pushed past it and ventured into the warm air. You took a deep breath, loving the way it all felt.

No unwanted bodies presssed against yours, it didn't smell like sweat, and the music wasn't as loud outside.

You scanned the deck for somewhere to sit, and that's when your eyes met his. You knew exactly who it was, Lucas Zumann. He had been in your 5th period math all junior year, he actually sat behind you.

Lucas' eyes sparkled under the dim lighting. He was sat on the further side, watching you. In his lap sat a cat, which wasn't something you were expecting.

"Did your bring a cat to the party?" You ask.

You aren't entirely sure why you're talking to him. But he didn't make nervous, a sense of comfort radiated off of him.

He chuckles, "no, but I wouldn't mind taking him home. He's very sweet."

You smile at Lucas before making your way over to him.

"Do you know it's name?" You ask.

His head shakes, "I don't. He was just out here when I came and we became friend, but I think bear is a suiting name."

Lucas watched you as you reached out to pet the cat, him automatically leaning into your touch.

"Aren't you a sweetheart," you said in a high voice. It was a bit embarrassing because you hadn't meant to talk to the cat like it was yours, but you did anyway.

He softly chuckles at your actions.

He likes the way your face lights up when the cat purrs at your touch, but he doesn't say it out loud.

"You're (Y/N) (Y/L/N) right, we had math together?"

You just about screamed when he said that. Lucas remembered who you were, and not a word had been spoken to one another the entire year. You'd always found him cute, hot actually. But you never act upon crushes, too much fear of rejection.

"I am, and we did. You're Lucas Zumann, right?"

He nods in respond.

Silence comes over the two of you, but it wasn't awkward. It was that kind of silence that was comforting and spoke for itself.

Lucas wondered what you were thinking about as your eyes stayed glued on the random cat in his lap. He likes the way your lips pulled into a smile everytime it leaned into your touch. Lucas had always found you pretty, breathtaking actually. But he wasn't the best when it came to talking to girls.

They scared him, all of them seemed to just want him for certain things and he could never give them what they wanted. Most teenage boys want to find a girl at a party, get drunk, then have sex in their car.

But Lucas rather look at a girl from afar and wonder when was the last time she cried. Weird thoughts like that. He didn't think with his dick, which was something he wanted everyone to know. But instead he stayed silent.

"Who dragged you here?" He asked, breaking the silence.

You stopped petting the cat and sat back in your chair. It's as if Lucas can read you without much effort. He brushed a curl out of his face while waiting for your response.

"Who said someone dragged me here?" You asked, completely avoiding the question.

The cat jumped out of Lucas' lap and walked away from the two of you, probably feeling the tension growing.

"No one, I can just tell. Coming from a person who was also dragged here."

You bit your bottom lip, unsure of what to say. You didn't want to admit that he was right, that you were in fact dragged here. But him saying he was also in your position made you speak up.

"Alec, my bestfriend."

Lucas nods, "this girl named Quest made me come. I don't know her well, but she told me if I didn't come I'd lose all my friends. And when I said I didn't care she drove to my house and made me get in her car. It was an interesting experience."

Quest, you knew exactly who she was. The loud girl that all the boys liked, but only for the use of getting in her pants. And she was easy, and it's not meant to be an insult, it's the truth. And if she dragged Lucas here you knew he was her new target, but you couldn't imagine the curly headed boy giving into her sexual tricks.

"Do you like her?" You asked, not caring if it seemed like you were nosy or weird. You probably weren't gonna talk to Lucas again after tonight so why hold back your questions.

He knotted his eyebrows together, his button nose scrunching up with them.

"No, not at all. She's too, let's say, experienced for me."

His words came as a relief to you. And you weren't entirely sure why.

Silence came once again, but this time it was a bit awkward. Mainly because of your question. But that's the last thing Lucas wanted, silence. He wanted to ask you millions of questions, the ones he thought of as you'd play with your hair in math class.

He wanted to ask what you did in the small black journal you always pulled out after tests. Or why every new pencil you got was yellow. He wasn't a stalker, just very observant.

But instead of that he asks, "how come you aren't Inside?"

The way you lick your lips makes his face feel numb for some reason. Anything you did have him weird feelings.

"Why aren't you in there?" You asked, once again avoiding his question.

"I asked you first."

You stayed looking into his eyes, searching for something. But you weren't sure what you were searching for. Maybe a glint of something bad that'd make you go back inside, but nothing. His eyes stayed innocently sparkling in the low light.

"Because everyone was grinding and I was uncomfortable. Plus all the pretty girls were making me feel like I didn't belong."

Lucas figured you didn't find yourself pretty, your lack of confidence was one of the first things he noticed about you.

"You're pretty," he blurted. He immediately regretted it and wanted to sink into the ground and never come back up.

His words made you blush, no body had ever called you pretty before. And the fact he was blushing also added to the flips in your stomach.

"Thank you Lucas, that's sweet of you to say." This time there was no backlash, just a nice response.

He wasn't sure what to say now, not being the best at conversation. And you could tell, because he was looking down and figiting with his fingers.

"I would romantically offer to drive you around while listening to sappy music, but I can't leave my friend," you aren't sure why you said that, you just wanted to say something.

Lucas smiles at you, "that's too bad. I would have enjoyed it."

"What kind of music are you into?"

Lucas had to think for a moment, being put on the spot usually makes his mind go blank.

"Oh, um, uh-" he makes eye contact with you. It eases his nerves. "I like Panic At The Disco a lot-"

You cut him off with a squeal and he watched as your eyes completely light up. He isn't sure while that makes his heart race increase, but he can sure feel it. The way you lips curve into a excited smile makes him want to always be the reason you're smiling.

"I love them! I've never met someone who actually liked them. Most people are like, Panic at the disco who? Or they only know their one song, I write sins not tragedies, but everyone knows that song. I'm actually going to their concert in a few months and I'm so excited. Their new song say amen is so amazing and when Brendon hits that high note I literally lose my breath. Their music is so underrated and I wish-" you stop talking.

When you realize your talking a lot you usually stop and mumble a small, "sorry."

Lucas isn't sure why you're apologizing, he liked hearing you talk. But he also liked the way your eyes got bigger and bigger and the way the light in them seemed to get brighter. The way your hands talked with you made his heart unnaturally happy.

"Why'd you stop?" He asked.

Now your eyes were on your shoes, and your hair dangling in your face.

"I was talking too much," you say simply as if it was obvious.

"Actually you weren't talking enough," he said, followed by a chuckle.

His words made your heart flutter.

The two of you sat out there for another hour, talking about life and how you weren't excited for senior year. But sadly everything comes to and end, for his conversation anyway, but the night was just getting started.

Lucas was in the middle of talking about how he didn't want to go to college when the back door swung open, and out came Alec.

"I've been looking everywhere for you!" She was obviously drunk. Her hair a mess and her lips swollen, most likely from making out.

"Okay so Quest is starting a game of 7 minutes in heaven, so middle school I know. But ya know why the fuck not? Okay anyways she needs like two more people I think so you two get your asses up and let's go!"

You and Lucas exchange a look, both unsure.

But you answer, "sure. I will."

Lucas ends up agreeing as well, only because you are.

Alec leads you guys upstairs into a small bedroom, there's eight other people in their. And you didn't know any of them besides Alec and Quest. Also Lucas.

You aren't too sure what you're in for, and neither does Lucas.
