louis walked into the kitchen nervously, thumbs twiddling together as he looked at his boyfriend, harry, who was sitting at the dinner table while he read the morning newspaper. harry looked up at his small boyfriend when he heard his small feet pattering into the room.
"good morning, darling," harry said, hinting at his boyfriend's nervousness. "everything alright?" he asked, making louis nod slowly in return.
"yeah, yes, everything's fine! it's just... i was wondering something..." louis said, trailing off a bit at the end, causing harry to raise an eyebrow at him as he laid the newspaper down flat on the table before standing up, making his way over to his boyfriend.
"what's up, buttercup?" harry asks, hands reaching up a bit to cup louis' cheeks. Louis blushed a bit, glancing up at harry as he wrapped his short arms around his lover's waist.
"well, i just wanted to know if... if i could borrow your car?" harry opened his mouth to speak, but louis kept talking. "now, before you say no, i know it's new! i'll... i'll be super duper careful and---" harry placed his pointer finger over louis' lips, chuckling quietly.
"lou, lou, babe. shh, you can borrow my car all you want, baby." and that made louis' face light up with excitement. harry just smiled fondly and handed over his keys, watching louis skip out of the house in excitement.

it wasn't even a half hour into driving when louis accidentally dented harry's brand new car. he was in tears on his drive home, sobs escaping past his lips as he made his way up to the front door and inside the house.
harry came rushing to him, cupping his face in his hands once again and asking him "what's wrong?", "are you okay?", and "are you hurt?" louis just shook his head after every question harry asked.

"louis, please tell me what happened, baby," harry whispered, a frown playing on his lips. louis glanced up at him through his damp eyelashes, sighing quietly before he whispered, "i dented your car, haz..."
harry sighed in relief, pulling his small boy into his chest as he kissed the top of his head gently, rubbing the smaller boy's back carefully.
"it's okay," harry said into louis' fluffy hair.
louis thought harry would kill him.
but he didn't.
