《Full Sun || Haechan》26

I tried getting a hold of Haechan all day but all my calls were sent straight to voicemail.
What did my dad say to him? Why is he ignoring me? Does this mean its really over?
I angrily threw my phone on my bed. I felt like I couldn't breathe. Suddenly my large room felt so small. The walls seemed to be closing in on me.
I couldn't take it anymore. Without grabbing anything I headed out of my house.
"Y/N were are you going?" I heard my mother yell for me as I walked out into the pouring rain.
"Y/N!" I purposely ignored her calls.
Without realizing, I had wound up standing in front of the twins house. I knocked on the door waiting for an answer hoping it would be Hyunjin.
To my surprise it was somebody that I least expected.
"Renjun?" I stared at him in confusion.
"Y/N you're soaking wet! Why aren't you wearing a jacket." He scolded me while pulling me inside.
Seeing him made me burst into tears.
"He lied to my Renjun-ah." I continued crying.
"Whats going on?" I heard Hyunjin's voice ask.
"I don't know, I was about to leave when I opened the front door and found her completely drenched in water."
"Y/N whats going on?" Hyunjin grabbed my hand softly.
I looked at him with broken eyes. " I think its over Hyunjin-ah. He left me."
"What do you mean he left? Did something happen between you and Haechan."
"My parents came home early and found out about Haechan and they were mad. I'm almsot 18, I should be allowed to date who I choose. I don't care if my parents are against our relationship but Heachan......Haechan left me even after he promised that he wouldn't."

Hyunjin brought me into a warm hug. "Its going to be okay y/n, everything will be okay."
After Hyunjin let me borrow a t-shirt and sweats, he made me some warm tea and we sat down in the living room. I was much more calm and we were able to properly talk. Renjun had already left but he left me a small drawing on sticky note to cheer me up.
"Why was Renjun here earlier?" I asked out of curiosity while I smiled at the small drawing.
"I asked him if he could help tutor me with our physics homework."
"But isn't science your best subject?"
"I've been struggling lately." He rubbed the back of his neck.
"Sure you are." For some reason I didn't believe he was.
"Enough about me." He quickly changed the topic of the conversation. "What are you going to do about Heachan?"
I lowered my gaze after hearing his name. "I don't know. Tell me what I can do when he's ignoring me?"
Hyunjin frowned.
"What if your dad threatened him like in those dramas? You know like, stay away from my daughter or ill kill you." He did a terrible impersonation of my dad which made me giggle.
"I'd almost believe that if we didn't know how much of a softie my dad really was."
"That's true." Hyunjin laughed. "Remember when we were kids and all our families would get together for big dinners."
"And he would sneak us chocolate bars before dinner behind our moms backs." I finished his thought.
I hugged my knees to my chest and reminisced all the good times our families shared before we moved to Seoul. I was now wishing I would have never moved here.

"Lets visit Busan." I told Hyunjin.
"When?"
"Tomorrow."
"Tomorrow!" He repeated and quickly sat up straight.
"Yes Tomorrow." I smiled widely. "Come on Hyunjin-ah, you said your parents and Eunji were gone for the weekend anyways."
"But-"
I pouted my lips. "Pleaseeeeee." I whined cutely.
He sighed. "Let me call your dad."
I cheered knowing that my dad could never say no to Hyunjin.
After a few minutes Hyunjin came back into the living room.
"What did he say?"
"He's arranging for us to stay with Minho's family for the next 3 days. Get ready because we are taking the 5 am train."
I hugged Hyunjin tightly. "Thank you Hyunjin-ah."
"Yea yea, just help me pack some clothes." He playfully pushed me away.
Since we didn't stop by my house, I wore a large hoodie and these ugly sweatpants that Hyunjin had let me borrow. I wasn't to worried because I knew I had spare clothes at Minho's family home.
Growing up my family was always closest to Hyunjin's, Minho's, and Seungmin's family which is why we spent most of our childhood together. Even as we got older we were always very close until the day I moved to Seoul.
We arrived at the station at 4:30 Am and waited to board our train. It was too dark to see anything once we departed for Busan causing me to quickly doze off and sleep throughout the whole ride.
When we finally arrived Hyunjin woke me up.
"Come on, Minho's waiting for us."
I rubbed my eyes and stood up reaching for our suitcase in the over head compartment. When we got off the train Minho was waiting for us near the exit. My eyes widened in happiness when I saw him.
He looked at me and sighed once I stood in front of him.
"Is something wrong?" I asked avoiding direct eye contact.
"You know I should be mad at you but just seeing you makes it hard to do so."
He finally broke into a smile and pulled me into a warm hug.
"I missed you penguin."
"What did I say about calling me that." I rolled my eyes.
He chuckled and hugged me tighter.
I sighed and hugged him back. "I missed you too."
He let go and eyed me from head to toe. "What are you wearing?"
"It's a long story." Hyunjin interrupted and handed the suitcase to Minho.
"Let's hurry up and get to your house so I can finally change out of these hideous clothes."
Hyunjin lightly slapped my head. "Next time you can come here by yourself."
I stuck my tongue out at him.
"Somethings never change." Minho laughed and helped us to his car.

Alexandra Bedford is a weapon, a young woman with telekinetic powers capable of leveling entire cities, born to fight in the desolate remains of post-apocalyptic North America. There is only one problem: she may be losing control of her abilities. Sixteen years after a global pandemic devastated the earth’s population, the lines in the old United States have been drawn between the Cheyenne Directorate in Colorado and the New England Alliance on the East Coast. The Directorate, of which Alexandra is a part, is a small but powerful organization dedicated to returning the country to its former glory. However, when a diplomatic mission to the New England Alliance goes wrong, Alexandra finds herself at the center of a bloody civil war. Battles are fought on the old highways and in dilapidated towns and once-great cities. And as the conflict escalates, all of North America faces the threat of being burnt away by nuclear fire. Against this backdrop of war, Alexandra tries to uncover the long-hidden secrets behind the plague, her abilities, and the two men fighting to decide the fate of the United States - Henry Bedford, Alexandra's father and leader of the Directorate, and John Martin, the mysterious figure at the heart of the New England Alliance who may hold the key to everything she seeks. None of this will matter, however, unless Alexandra can prevent the power growing inside her from taking over and consuming the very world she is fighting to save. Author's Notes: I appreciate you taking a look at my novel, The Girl from the Mountain. If you're a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, military thrillers, and/or cosmic horror, I think you'll enjoy this story. I completed the novel's first draft back in 2011 and made significant changes in 2016. Since then, I've more-or-less sat on the manuscript while working on other projects. Thanks to a bit of prodding, I've decided to send this story out into the wild with some touch-ups and additional revisions. I welcome any comments or criticisms, and I hope you enjoy The Girl from the Mountain!
