The heroes open the door to a now crowded room.

King: Welcome brave heroes. We have gathered the greatest warriors in the land. These brave souls will fight the waves along side you.

The 5 heroes walk towards the center of the room from the door in order of right to left: Itsuki, Ren, Naofumi, Motoyasu and our favorite badass Sung Jin-Woo.

Naofumi: 'So what do we do now? Have turns choosing our party members...... daaayum there's a real looker too!'

The redhead looks at Naofumi and smiles. He smiles and looks away blushing.

Jin-Woo: 'I feel that weird presence from yesterday again. Could it be that the incarnation is here?'

Jin-Woo looks around the room for the presence he's feeling and his eyes land on a red haired girl. And when he sees her he instantly realizes that she's the fragmented of the goddess.

Jin-Woo: 'So this is the person I have to kill in order to save these worlds. I'll stick a shadow inside of hers so I can track her. She has red hair too, that means she's the princess too, that'll make things harder. Also why is she smiling and looking this way...... oh god no, now I'll have to deal with his heartbreak when I kill her.'

King: Our future champions, the time has come to begin your journey.

Naofumi: 'What!? They're the ones who get to choose!?'

Jin-Woo: 'So they're choosing who to partner up with. Well I just hope I don't get a lot.'

As all the volunteers pick what heroes to partner up with. Naofumi looks behind him and sees no one picked him. And while Naofumi panics about not having anyone, Jin-Woo didn't get anyone too.

Jin-Woo: 'This result is better than I imagined. Can't say the same for Naofumi though.'

Naofumi: 3 there, 5 there and 4 there... hey yo king!?

King: I have to admit, I didn't expect this.

Kings advisor: No volunteers? They must have no charisma.

Random guy:

King: I have ben made aware of an unsettling rumor. As you all may know, the legendary heroes come with a firm understanding of our world. And it seems the shield and mage heroes lack that knowledge.

Naofumi: What!?

Ren: It seems you were right Jin-Woo. Someone was spying on us.

Motoyasu: Yea it looks like it. Guess he can actually sense presences.

Naofumi: 'Just because of a damn rumor!'

Either way, Ren you don't need 5. Give a couple of them to me.

Ren: Well I'm a loner. If you guys can't cut it I'm leaving you behind.

Naofumi: Hey Motoyasu help me out. Isn't this unfair.

Motoyasu: I'm just surprised all my teammates are girls.

Naofumi: Hey Jin-Woo what do you think of this?

Jin-Woo: I agree it's unfair to leave you with no members since you're a defensive class. But I can't say Im complaining about myself. Since I'm a loner like Ren. But since we can't force them to join you, but I can help you search for companions if you want.

???: Sir hero.

Everyone looked behind them.

Fragment: would you kindly allow me to switch parties and go with the shield hero.

Motoyasu: A-are you sure?

Fragment: I am.

Jin-Woo: 'God damn it. Why of all of them did she have to join him.'

Naofumi: 'It's her! She's really joining my party.'

Jin-Woo: Naofumi I know you're low on party members but I highly suggest you stay away from her. I know you like her but trust me, she's bad news.

Naofumi: What are you talking about Jin-Woo. She's ok, stop being paranoid.

Jin-Woo: Naofumi I'm serious. Do not let her join. I can help you find members but not her.

Naofumi: Have a little faith Jin-Woo she's good.

Jin-Woo: Well I warned you. 'Well seems like the king did send a spy on us. And now that Naofumi's alone the secret princess joined him. But what are they planning to do with him. Better put a few shadows on Naofumi in case something happens. Igrit, take 20 shadow infantry with you and go to Naofumi.'

Igrit: 'It will be done my king.'

King: Is there anyone else who can join the shield hero?

...

King: Hmm, so be it. We shall take other measures then. Every mount the heroes get money for their adventures. But this one time, the payment for the shield and mage hero will be higher. The mage hero will receive a 1000 silver, the shield will receive 800 silver and the rest will receive 600 silver. Procure all necessary equipment and begin your adventure.

All heroes except Jin-Woo: Yes sir.

(Timeskip)

(Location: front gate)

Motoyasu: Later Naofumi. Take care of her, you hear me. And Jin-Woo, good luck with recruiting.

Jin-Woo: 'Like ill be doing that.'

Itsuki: We can't help you guys directly, but I can at least wish you the best of luck with recruiting.

Ren: Till next time.

Jin-Woo: Naofumi, before I go, will you please reconsider my offer. Again, trust me, she's not who you think she is.

Naofumi: Jin-Woo you'll see she's not bad. Trust me, I know she's not.

Jin-Woo: Well I cant change your decision. Only thing I can do is wish you the best of luck with digging yourself out of the grave mistake you're making.

Naofumi: What's his problem?

Fragment: Sir hero.

Naofumi turns around.

Fragment: I didn't introduce myself back there. My name is Myne Sylphia. It's a honor to fight with you.

Naofumi: I'm Naofumi Iwatani, nice to meet you.

Myne: My pleasure.

Naofumi: She's so friendly, open and warm. I mean, she joined me when no one else wanted. Jin-Woo is so wrong about her.

(Timeskip)

Now that their journey has started. Jin-Woo has set out on a quest to upgrade and learn how to use his weapon.

Jin-Woo: 'Motoyasu and Ren said this area has 2 dungeons and a good population of high level monsters. For everyone else, going here now would be a death wish, but for me, this will be a walk in the park. Literally. And they also said I can collect different forms of my weapon by feeding it different materials. And as a mage I can copy weapons as long as I have the materials. But for now I should try and combine my weapon with my magic.'

As Jin-Woo thinks to himself he comes across 9 level 10 wolves. They look at him with mad, hungry eyes, but they don't realize just who they ran into.

Jin-Woo: But first...

Before he finishes his sentence he dashed at the wolves and instantly cuts them to pieces with a dagger made of black mass.

Jin-Woo: Some monster hunting.

(Timeskip)

After our hero arrived to the forest he went to the 2 dungeons his colleagues told him about. He encountered a 7 level 15 monsters and 2 level 23 monsters. It's safe to say he was quite disappointed at how weak they were. After he went through both dungeons population of monsters he got to level 24. Seeing how weak they were he just settled on looking for loot and minerals. After that he wanted to try and combine his mana with the weapon.

Jin-Woo: 'Ok Fangs how do I do this?'

Fangs: 'you need to let the mana of the weapon flow through you. Right now it's just crashing into your mana and not doing anything. From what I can tell this weapon was made for humans that had little to no magical power so the weapon can just take over. But you my king, you have to let it flow through your body and inject your own mana into it.'

As Jin-Woo does this a bright flash of light starts emanating from the blue gen on his hand and dies down. As Jin-Woo doesn't know if it was a success or not something pops up in front of his eyes.

Jin-Woo's eyes widen. He hasn't experienced something like this since he still used the system. He quickly goes to check on his stats and weapon.

With this a big smile grows on Jin-Woo's face. It was a success. He's even gained the root he needed to trap the fragment with, and managed do gain a few useful powers. Only thing he couldn't figure out is what we're the negative effects that were nullified.

Nows the time to start learning to use it. But as he looks around he sees it has gotten late. So he decides to go back.

Jin-Woo: 'Before I go back, I at least have some time to clear another dungeon in the next area. Then I'll go do some research on the waves.'

As Jin-Woo said that, suddenly, blackness surrounded him and memories he didn't have before appeared in his mind.

Jin-Woo:'What's going on! What am I seeing!?'

???: Why are you doing this to me, I've done nothing wrong to you!

Jin-Woo recognized the voice. But couldn't think of who it belonged to. As he looked back he saw the weak, younger version of himself, crying and leaning on a tree, bleeding from his left arm and head. And when he turns his head to where the other version of himself was looking at he saw people who looked like bandits.

Bandit1: Simple kid, we were paid by an adventurer to kill you because you killed her father. So she wants revenge for his death and paid us to hunt you down.

Jin-Woo weak: But I didn't kill anyone! I was just summoned to this world and I'm the mage hero. I'm here to save people!

Bandit2: Oh really, then use your legendary weapon and save yourself. Unless you're lying to us.

Jin-Woo weak: But I'm just a mage. I'm not fit for defense and I'm only level 1. Please just spare my li-.

With a swift cut bandit2 cut the weak

Jin-Woo's neck and he started to drown in his own blood. And shortly after died from blood loss.

As the memory ends the life of the previous versions of himself flood into his mind. And Jin-Woo experiences several deaths he had from previous timelines. And in Jin-Woo's mind, there begins to manifest an amount of hatred and rage he never had till this moment. Through his memories he sees the incarnation directly or indirectly responsible for his death. Now he knows what he has to do,

(Timeskip)

It was now late at night

After he cleared a 3rd dungeon in another area he choose to set up camp in the forest. He sets up a tent that he kept in his dimensional space.

When everything was set he went in the tent to get some sleep.

As Jin-Woo rests a few bandits slowly creep up on our hero.

Bandit1: Is that our target. He doesn't seem so tough.

Bandit2: Well he seems unarmed. And also looks like he's using magic.

Bandit3: A mage maybe?

Bandit4: Whoever he is our client is gonna pay us good money for his head. So I don't give a damn what he is.

Bandit5: Let's have 3 of us stay and guard the area for unsuspecting monsters. And 2 go and kill the guy.

As bandit1 and bandit2 go to the tent. The other bandits scatter around the area.

As they think they're safe something comes to take it away.

*Crunch*

Bandit3: Huh?

Ant soldier: Skkriiieee!

Bandit4: What's going on over the-?

*Swiiing*

Bandit5: Get away from me!

Ant soldier: Kkkiiieehk!

And like that, the 3 bandits keeping watch were all dead.

Bandit1 and 2 open the tent and see that no one is in it. And Jin-Woo apears behind them.

Jin-Woo: Good evening gentlemen.

Bandit2 on reflex, grabs his dagger and swings back at Jin-Woo. And bandit1 jumps away from the 2.

Jin-Woo grabs the mans left arm that held a dagger. He breaks the bandits hand and grabs him by his throat. Now the interrogation starts.

Jin-Woo: Who are you. Why are you bandits coming after me.

Bandit2: F-fuck you.

Before Jin-Woo could reply. Bandit1 comes back swinging a sword. Jin-Woo drops the bandit and sidesteps the attack.

Bandit1: 'Seriously, who is this guy!? There's no way he's a mage!'

Jin-Woo then kicks bandit1's leg and grabs his head, slamming the bandit face first into the ground

Jin-Woo: 'Activate Flora root.'

As Jin-Woo activates his he restrains the the 2 bandits with underground tree roots and starts tightening roots around bandit1's arm and bandit2's leg.

Sung Jin-Woo: Talk now or loose an arm and a leg.

Bandit1: 'Oh shit, he's the mage hero!' We have 3 other people here! Do you think you can stop all 5 of us.

Jin-Woo: Oh you mean them. Yea they're all dead, it's only us 3 here now. So start talking now before you end up like your palls. 'Bring the bodies.'

As giant black ants appeared out of the forest the bandits that are left see their colleagues mutilated to the point where they almost couldn't tell who they were.

The bandits are now horrified. The man in front of them was much stronger than they realized and now they're in his unescapable clutches.

Jin-Woo: Start talking.

Bandit2: Aggh! O-ok ok it was a girl with red hair, called Myne. We don't know anything else man.

Jin-Woo: Give me your arm.

Bandit2: Ok w-why?

As he lifts his right arm Jin-Woo grabs it.

Jin-Woo: Because this.

As Jin-Woo said that, he suddenly pushes his ankle against the back side of the mans elbow effectively bending the arm backwards.

Bandit2: AAAAAGGGHH!! W-w-why did you do that!

Jin-Woo: Tell me what else she said.

Bandit2: Ugh. She said you're a criminal who killed her father. A-and that she wanted revenge. So she gave us a 100 silvers to kill you. Thats everything now will you please let us go.

Jin-Woo: Ok, I believe you, you're free.

Bandit1: Thank you sir. We won't mess with you aga-.

Jin-Woo: We're not done just yet. 'Activate necromancer root.'

When the activated his next root. He wanted to try out the different forms of undead he can make. He used it on the 3 dead bandits and revived them as ghouls.

Jin-Woo: Now then. I'll give you guys a challenge. Get out of the forest before you get eaten by your colleagues, and you get to live. And your challenge starts in 10 seconds.

Bandit2: You bastard! You said we were free. You lied to us!

Jin-Woo: Oh I forgot to add, you're free to run for your lives. So if I were you I'd start running.

The 2 bandits took of as fast as they could.

And as Jin-Woo goes to pick up his camping equipment he hears the screams of the 2 bandits.

And when the ghouls came back to their master he undoes his magic. Turning the bandits into lifeless mutilated corpses again.

Jin-Woo: 'So the incarnation has something to do with this, and because she's the kings daughter, the king has something to do with it too. So they wanted to get rid of me like this, they also succeeded doing it in the past timelines when I was weak. And they want Naofumi gone too. Which means that Myne girl will try to kill him or something else. But what?Either way, I put Igrit on him with some other soldiers. So if the worst happens, they won't be able to kill him. So for now I'll go rest a bit till morning, and I'll check on the others when I get back.'

(Timeskip)

(Location: Throne room)

Currently Naofumi is in front of the king, Myne and the other heroes with spears pointed at him. Naofumi is being accused of attempted sexual assault and the murder of the mage hero.

Naofumi: Yo king while I was sleeping all of my equipment, other than my shield, has ben stolen. Please sir find the thie-.

King: Silence you filth!

Naofumi: 'What's this about?'

King: Myne, I'm sorry my dear. But could you please repeat your testimony?

Myne: It was last night. I saw him outside talking to someone who looked like a bandit. I heard him say that he wanted the mage hero 6 feet under, and when he noticed me. The shield hero forced his way into my room and he was stinking drunk, he grabbed me and pinned me down!

Naofumi: Huh!

Myne: And he said "the night is still young", and then he ripped my clothes off. Thankfully I was able to escape and find sir Motoyasu who was staying at the same in.

Naofumi: What the hell!

Motoyasu: If she didn't ask me to wait till dawn to call the knights. I would have gladly cut you down myself.

Naofumi: What are you guys talking about!? I went straight to bed and I don't drink! Hey that's my armor you're wearing. You thieving bastard give it back!

Motoyasu: Who are you calling a thief? I got this armor when Myne and I met at the pub yesterday.

King: To think the shield hero would commit such heinous crimes. One of them being sexual assault which is the greatest sin in this country.

Kings advisor: In Melromarc even attempted sexual assault on a woman is punishable by death.

King: And if you weren't a hero I'd have you executed at once!

Naofumi: Executed!? I promise you I'm the one being wronged here, not her! I also didn't go outside and talk with anyone. And if you're convinced I did show me proof!

As he said that a knight comes and kneels in front of them.

Knight: When we preformed a search on his room we found this.

King: The proof is undeniable!

Itsuki: What a terrible shame. I worried something bad happened but I didn't expect this from you.

Ren: You think just because you're a hero you can do whatever you want!

Naofumi: It's not even the least bit true, I swear!

Motoyasu: You think the world is a consequence free zone? Know your place scoundrel!!
