《Water and Ice | Shoto Todoroki》Chapter 39-Easy Victory

"I...I guess..." I answered slowly.

Ura and Mina high-fived each other. I blushed harder.

"Please don't do anything guys! I don't want to be set up or tricked again!" I said quickly.

They were both smirking evilly. I got more worried as they sent a knowing look between each other. I grit my teeth, knowing there wasn't anything I could do to stop them if they had their minds set on it. Mina whispered something to Ura and they both laughed. They exchanged a whispered conversation with lots of giggles in between. I just sighed and sank farther into my seat.

The match started and Iida and Todoroki fought. I watched them, but couldn't help seeing Mina whispering something to Kaminari in my peripheral. He suppressed a laugh and whispered something else to Kirishima. I glared at Mina. The whisper chain continued through the class, even Bakugo listened to it before smirking and passing it on. I was extremely annoyed that I didn't know what they were saying. I just tried to ignore them and watch the match.

Todoroki ended up winning, which meant I might have to face him if I beat Tokoyami. I got up and headed towards the entrance. I passed Todoroki in the hall as he made his way back to the stands.

"Nice job." I congratulated him.

"Thanks. Well...good luck." He said.

I nodded and we continued walking away from each other. I went towards the entrance for the third time today. Tokoyami came out from the other side like all my other opponents, and I was hoping he would leave the same way, after losing of course. I didn't have anything against him, but I came here to win, and that was what I planned to do. We faced each other and I went over my plan in my mind. It should end this quickly, without wasting much more of my energy.

"Begin!" Midnight started the match.

I immediately reached out with my clouds and enveloped him in a cocoon of mist. I began to move him towards the boundary line and I saw him trying to fight back inside. It was no use though. The clouds did my bidding, so I was able to make them support his weight even though they were light.

I could thin the water out enough to make my own clouds and since clouds weighed close to nothing I was able to move them around easier, although it required a bit of concentration. That was how I floated around, though.

Tokoyami was already close to the boundary so I just pushed him a little more before setting him down, outside of the line.

"Tokoyami is out of bounds! Y/n wins!" Midnight declared.

I let the clouds evaporate into the air and released Tokoyami. He looked like he had a mixture of disappointment and annoyance on his face. We both walked away.

"Well that was fast." Ura said when I got back to the stands.

"Don't want to waste any energy." I replied simply.

"I suppose this makes us rivals. Well good luck to you anyway." Todoroki said.

I nodded.

"May the best competitor win."
