《Theirs》Chapter 13

...

The bus finally stopped and everybody cheered.

"Finally!" Lyla groaned out loudly.

We grabbed our stuff and walked out of the bus. When everyone was out, Tharion and Draco addressed us.

"Alright everyone. Make sure all your belongings are with you and then head to our usual camping spot." Draco said and everyone started to check their stuff.

"Usual camping spot?" I said in confusion.

"Yeah. When we go on trips, most of the time it ends up being camping, so we have a reserved spot here just for us." Lyla explained.

"Oh. Then how come we never went to any trips since I started working?" I asked.

I was an intern for six months and it's been four months since I officially became an employee of this company. And not once did we go to any trips during that time.

"You were just unlucky to become an employee at the most hectic time of the year." She said with a grin. "And we don't include interns since they're not official employees." She added.

"So you've been enjoying yourself while I was busting my butt off to secure a spot in the company?" I said, faking feeling shocked and betrayed.

She just rolled her eyes making me smirk and pull her in a hug.

"Well wasn't that cute." Draco said out of nowhere.

I jumped and unwrapped myself from Lyla. Then I hid behind her out of embarrassment because he saw me acting like that.

God, I can even identify their voices now...

Tharion and Draco were standing next to us, with their bags in hands.

"Shall we?" Draco said playfully.

Lyla and I started to walk and they were right behind us.

"Are we going be with them during the entire trip or just until we get to the camping spot?" I whispered to Lyla.

"I don't know. We'll see when we get there." She replied.

I groaned internally.

If they end up being with us for the entire trip, I'll definitely die from a heart attack.

...

We arrived at the camping spot and my breath was taken away. It was at the base of a mountain and right next to a lake.

"Lyla, this is beautiful!" I whisper-yelled in amazement.

"I know. That's why we often come here." She said with a big grin.

We slowly started to assemble our tents and during that time I couldn't peel my eyes away from the green scenery which surrounded us.

...

After some time, we were finally done with setting our tents. The sun was slowly setting and everyone started to prepare for the bonfire.

Lyla suddenly grabbed my hand and started pulling me after her.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"I have to show you something before the bonfire starts." She said without looking at me.

"And what is that something?" I asked.

"You'll see." She said playfully, but her voice sounded odd.

"Will you at least tell were that something is located?" I asked, trying to get any information about whatever she wants to show me.

"At the top of the mountain." She said.

"What?! Are you crazy?! Do you see how big this mountain is?! There's no way we'll make it back for the bonfire!" I whisper-yelled, because I didn't want to disturb any animals in the forest.

"Don't worry. It's not as big as it looks. We'll be back on time." She assured.

Begrudgingly, I trusted her.

...

"I shouldn't have trusted you. It's already dark." I grumbled.

"Don't worry. We're almost there." She said.

"You said that five times al-"

She suddenly stopped walking making me slam myself against her back.

"Why did you st-"

"We're here." She said and faced me with an excited grin.

I looked at her in confusion and then behind her. My eyes widened and my mouth fell open.

"Holly shit!"

----------------------------------------------------

I turned to Lyla and she was already grinning like a madman.

"It's breathtaking!" I said in astonishment.

And I thought the camping spot was beautiful. This place is out of this world.

"How did you find this?" I asked in amazement while I looked around.

"Blaze came with us one time and he showed it to me. I had the same reaction as you." She said with a happy face.

I grinned at her and started to run around the meadow. Everything was amazing. The air was so fresh, the sky looked beautiful, the trees surrounding the meadow were extremely tall, the meadow itself was breathtaking. Everything looked so unreal.

"Shit!" She said suddenly, making me look at her in confusion.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I think I dropped my phone somewhere. I literally had it in my hand two seconds ago." She said as she looked around.

I also started to look for it.

"I'll go a few steps back to see if it's somewhere out there. You stay here because it'll be easy for me to find you. I don't want you to get lost in the forest or something." She said and turned around.

"I'll go with you." I said and was about to go after her, but she stopped me.

"No. You stay here and look around. Maybe I dropped it around here. I'll just go a few steps back to check. Like I said, I had it in my hand two seconds ago, so it can't be that far." She said quickly.

I reluctantly nodded and she walked away. I looked around the meadow, but nothing. No signs of Lyla's phone.

"It must be somewhere in the forest." I said quietly.

Suddenly, I heard rustling behind me. I turned around but there was no one.

Must be my imagination.

I started to walk around the meadow and enjoy the beautiful scenery which surrounded me.

Then there was rustling again. I quickly turned to the direction it came from.

"Lyla? Is that you?" I asked slowly.

But in return I heard more rustling.

"Lyla... If it's you, stop it. It's not funny." I said, slowly feeling scared.

The rustling just got louder and louder.

"Lyla..." I said now feeling terrified.

The rustling became so loud I had to cover my ears. On instinct, I also closed my eyes.

What's happening? Don't tell me it's going to rain. Lyla is not back yet and I don't know how to get back to the camp.

But then the rustling suddenly stopped.

It stopped?

I uncovered my ears and opened my eyes. Then I looked up.

"Oh... My... God..."

Two, gigantic shadows were moving towards me. But then I saw a few golden spots on them.

"Those are not shadows Katherine." I whispered to myself in panic.

And then the moonlight fell right on them. I was seconds away from passing out.

HOLLY FUCK!
