《Trapped with My Brothers ✔》Chapter Two

I woke up to the sound of a blender near my ears. I opened my eyes to see my sweet mom standing next to me with the blender in her hands, waiting for me to wake up. She looked like she was about to drop it on my head. She can't be serious! "Aren't you bored of your ways to wake me up, every day?" I asked, with my morning hoarse voice. I rubbed my eyes and sat on my bed, then I looked at myself in the mirror that was placed across from my bed and saw the amazing bed hair. Note the sarcasm, please. I can't understand those type of girls who wake up with perfect and styled hair. I mean, how? Call me jealous, I don't care, but what I care about is the damn secret to perfect hair. In the morning. Each morning.

"No, in fact... I find joy in making you all grumpy in the mornings." She smirked like an evil, cute witch, and I faked a loud gasp.

"What type of mother are you? You enjoy my misery every morning. I'm disappointed in you, Mother! I can't look you in the eyes." I put my hand on my chest and shook my head in disapproval. Psychiatrist, my butt, I should be the new drama queen. Mom rolled her eyes, then put the blender on a chair that was near my bed. Sure, Mom, put it on a chair that I'm supposed to sit on. It's not like there was a small table right next to that freaking chair.

"Sweetness, give me a big hug. Now," she ordered playfully while putting out her arms for me to grab. I did hug her: tightly if I might add. The hug lasted for a few minutes before she released me and looked right into the eyes that I took from her. I sounded like a thief, didn't I?

"I'm going to miss you, Mom," I genuinely admitted to her with a sad expression on my face. I saw my face because of the mirror, by the way.

"Oh sweetness, I'm going to miss you too. You know it's for the best that you go and live your life. And don't worry, I'll come and visit you every once in a while. After all, I'm a tour guide. If you get what I mean?" She countered in a humorous tone, and I laughed from my heart. Wait, no... I laughed from my mouth where the sound comes out. Okay, I should stop being a smart butt.

I smiled. "I do, but aren't you going to feel lonely? Without me? Alone?" I asked her, then stood up with her and walked to the bathroom to brush my teeth. Her eyes flashed sadness for mere seconds then it was replaced with hope.

"Of course, I'll be lonely without my only girl, but I'll have lots of work, so I'll distract myself with it. Besides, I'll video chat with you every night before bed and if I don't, I will probably be asleep. Okay?" she suggested. I nodded while humming a yes. I couldn't speak because of the toothbrush in my mouth.

"I'll leave you to get ready, as we will go to the airport in one hour. Finish before that so you can eat your breakfast," she instructed. "I'm sure you don't want to miss the sweet flavors of pancakes with honey and ice cream," she added. This made me jump up and down with happiness. My favorite breakfast ever. If you didn't try ice cream and honey with pancakes, then you don't know how to eat. Period. She closed the bathroom door and left me to continue doing my morning routine.

After I finished brushing my hair and teeth, I went to my wardrobe and picked some random short jeans that reached my mid-thighs, and a white V-neck shirt that quoted a funny but true line. The line said: 'Insanity runs in my family.' Then, I put on white Nike shoes. "I'm ready!" I announced to myself after I put on a little bit of mascara and a natural light-pink lipstick. I liked to keep it simple. I grabbed my two suitcases after I put my phone in my back jeans pocket and headed to the stairs. The stairs. Two suitcases and one me. Fantastic. I sighed, then began going down the stairs very carefully. If the snail was the slowest creature on earth... I was slower. I smiled in victory when I almost reached the last step, but that smile was replaced with utter horror when I missed that last step because I didn't see it due to the big suitcase and fell forward onto both of my suitcases. I don't know if I was lucky or unlucky. I fell down the stairs but was saved by the cause of my fall. Ironic. Mom rushed to see me, with a panicked face.

"What happened, dear?" she asked, as she helped me stand up.

"Last stupid step, that's what happened," I replied with a scowl, then placed the cases near the main door.

Mom chuckled, then patted my back. "Oh, I've been in your shoes not so long ago. Are you okay?" she asked, and I nodded.

"All good, now let's eat," I replied, then walked to the kitchen. My heaven.

"Here, sit down and I'll get the food for you. Just open the case of the honey bottle and put it on the counter," Mom requested, and I went to get it from the closet that was near the sink. I sat back on my usual chair and started my attempts to open the bottle. After a lot of struggles it opened, but I managed to cover my face with it. To be more exact, nose and down to my neck. Why does this have to happen to me?

"Ugh!" I screamed, and Mom turned around and looked at me with an amused expression on her gentle face.

"Seriously, Lexi, what is happening to you?" she asked, as she handed me the towel. I wiped the honey off of my face.

"I don't know. Maybe these are signs that I should not go after all..." I reasoned with hopeful puppy eyes. I had to try everything.

She smiled, which made me too hopeful. "Yeah, no!" she replied, then handed me the plate. The mouthwatering plate. I was planning on cleaning my face with water, but who cares? Food was much more important. I grabbed a knife and a fork, then started eating nonstop. Mom sat in front of me, just staring at me while I was eating. Some people just might get annoyed if anyone watched them while eating but, I, on the other hand, just ate. It didn't and won't ever bother me because their eyes will be like ′Can I have a bite?′ and mine will be like ′Hell no.′ Again, Mom was right. Food was my crush or lover. Which one was stronger? A lover or a crush?

"Make sure to call me when you land. And say hi to your brothers for me," she clarified, then embraced me real tight. We were at the airport saying goodbyes to each other. The drive was so short because the airport was fifteen minutes or so away from our home.

"I sure will, Mom. Please take care of yourself. And make sure to visit us soon," I replied, with tears filling my eyes. I was not crying — the wind was so strong... Wait, we were in summer. And there was no wind. Ha, I'm ruining myself by myself, aren't I?

"Bye, sweetness," she whispered after she released me so I could go through the checkpoint.

"Bye, Mom. I love you," I replied, and then she left.
