《The Reject (A Thorin Oakenshield Fanfic)》4

The next morning, we were headed for Rivendell. Thorin didn't want to go at all.
When we got there, I was getting dirty looks from a bunch of elves.
When Lord Elrond appeared, my very best friend since I was little was there.
"Lili!" I exclaimed, laughing. She was as tiny as ever. I found it funny that Kili was looking at her curiously.
"You haven't visited in like, forever!" she squealed.
"Come on, let's go to your room to talk." I said softly, hating the fact that everyone except Lili, Kili, Gandalf, and Elrond were giving me dirty looks.
We got to Lili's room, and she killed me with questions.
"What happened to you?" she asked, seeing my swollen black eye and bandages.
"Trolls, and I was punched in the face by a dwarf. All the dwarves but one hate me and doubt me."
"That's not good."
"No, it's not."
"You probably want to go sit by the river like normal, so I'll see you at dinner. I'm going to try to fet tuis guy I like to talk to me."
"Bye Lili." I said as she exited before me.
I was sitting by the river, and I was bored as heck.
Suddenly, someone came up behind me, and I turned to see who it was.
"Oh, hi Fili." I said, emotionlessly.
"Hi. Is there something wrong?" he asked, sitting down beside me.
"Of course there is something wrong, everyone hates me. Even someone I never thought would."
"Who?"
"I met your uncle when I was 5 and he was 7. It was the only time I ever spoke to him, and it wasn't good, the reason he and King Thror came to our little cabin in the woods."

"Could you tell me about it?"
"Sure."
***FLASHBACK***
I was only five, and my best friend Lili was spending the week with my mother and I, since my father was with the army and they were taking care of a few major groups of orcs.
Lili and I were in the field by my house, staring at the sky, and laying by the river.
We were playing our favorite game. We each would name someone we thought the other was going to marry. It was just from the boys in the area, and occasionally we would go to elves. It was my turn.
"Hmm... Let me think... Oh I know! Legolas!" I giggled, as a dreamy look came onto her face.
"Oh don't I wish. At least MYcrush knows I exist. Legolas and I are best friends. YOURcrush however..." she began, giggling as well.
"I don't have a crush on him! How many times do I need to tell you?"
"Ok, my turn."
"Whatever."
"YOU'RE going to marry Prince Thorin!"
"WHAT?!?!?!"
"Isn't that who you have a crush on?"
"NO!! I don't have a crush on anyone!!" I felt my face growing hot.
"YES!!! Your face is turning red!!"
"Fine, think what you want."
"You know what'll happen if we do marry those two?"
"What?"
"We'll both be princesses!!"
"You have fun with that."
Suddenly, we heard my mother yell for us.
"Flair!! Lili!! Come in the house, quickly!!!"
We ran quickly, and met my mother on the porch. She took us inside and gave us orders.
"Lili, go upstairs and stay there. Flair, you need to stay here in the kitchen."
"Okey-dokey artichokey." Lili smiled.
I sat in the kitchen, and I heard my mother open the door, for someone had knocked.

"Come in the kitchen, won't you?" I heard her say. I had no idea who it would be.
When my mother walked in, she was followed by King Thror and Prince Thorin. I quickly jumped up and went into a low bow. I mean it's not everyday the king and his grandson come to someone's house.
I heard the prince walk over, and next thing I knew he had a hand on my chin and was bringing me up from the bow.
"Please... Don't." was all he would say.
I turned my attention to my mother.
"What is it? Where is my husband?" she was asking.
King Thror just hung his head. I instantly had fears. I walked up to my mother and pulled on her sleeve.
"Mommy, d-does that mean that daddy is... dead?" I asked softly. She nodded, and I ran.
I ran and sat by the river.
I just sat there crying, and I heard someone walk up beside me, but I couldn't see who it was because I had my knees to my chest and my face hidden in my arms.
I felt a pair of small arms wrap around me, so I thought I was Lili.
I looked up, and it was Prince Thorin.
He brushed my hair out of my face.
"It'll be ok." he said softly.
"How do you know?" I had asked it before I realized that I was talking.
"I just do. "
We just sat there for a while until my mother called.
"Flair! Thorin!"
He stood and offered his hand to help me up, but I was already up and drying my face. I felt myself blushing because he was watching me.
We got to the porch, and King Thror was there with my mother.
"Come, Thorin. We should be getting back." Thror said.
He bid my mother and I a good day, and shook our hands.
Thorin followed him, but stopped at the bottom of the steps and waved to me. When I waved back, my mother put an arm around me.
We went to the kitchen, and I asked what had bothered me for a while.
"Who killed daddy? Did King Thror know?"
"The orc commander's name is Azog the Defiler. He ran daddy through himself, sweetie."
***END OF FLASHBACK***
Fili was in shock.
"He... he didn't hate you then. Why does he hate you now?"
"That's what I'm comfused on.
