《My Poems》Poem # 11: Worthwhile Trip Living Beside Death
Advertisement
They say death is a scary thing.
When it comes, you have no idea what it brings.
Thats why live your everyday to the fullest,
Treat every guest with your nicest.
A life full of sorrows, thou shall not have it;
'Cuz even for a person like me, there's still a fated person to meet
But before it happened, my life's thread was cut off.
Still, in the Earth my soul wandered off
In front of my lifeless body on the soil so soft.
Twas painted in red, where which I lay in the loft.
Days passed and I lingered 'round my grave;
I've got no one to express a mourn or a rave.
Well, that's always to be expected.
Great, my past actions reflected.
Ten years ago
*
When I was sixteen, we lived at Rome
Along with my mother who's bedridden at home.
I forced myself to work to the bone
But an eleven year old boy told me to watch my tone.
It turned out he was the son of my boss at work,
When I heard that, my ears began to perk.
"Darn, I can't go against him", I thought;
Or else my hard work will come to naught.
Man, he was strict you see,
His every command was directed at me.
Dressing, cooking, sewing, serving,
When eating, he always asks for a heaping.
I forgot to tell you this, my name is Maire Tinn,
I'm now a maid in the family of Caerlainne.
My boss has some wealth but is kind to me,
Though his son named Tyr is acting brattily.
He started to not like ladies,
For his mother died in her late thirties.
Now back to my story, I somewhat held on
I worked seven years in the family, full of passion.
Though in my master's eyes, I'm still somewhat a nonexistent person,

He has been kind lately for no certain reason.
I guess seven years of pursuing finally bore fruit,
His reactions now are somewhat cute.
Thanks to my boss, my mother was treated,
She is now also serving the family saying no pay is needed.
But it's true, when I began working for them, we never got hungry again;
We even got new clothes, now I look like a proper maiden.
One random day, when my master reached home,
Bruises and cuts on his skin was worn.
It turns out he was beaten by some thugs,
So I calmed him down and gave him some stroking and hugs.
More shockingly I realized, his cheeks turned red and 'twas so bright.
For some odd reason, I think what I did was somewhat not right.
Our position was somewhat awkward,
I pinned him down on the floor so hard.
I stood up and said 'sorry' then immediately studded out,
But in an instant, his hand, to me, reached out.
A certain spring breeze passed through,
Different varieties of flowers in the background grew.
We looked each other in the eye,
Its as if not wanting to let go nor say goodbye
I broke the ice by shooking my head
Blushing, I yanked my hand and ran to my bed.
He was left alone worried and dumbfounded.
I abandoned my job by leaving and going on ahead
It was my job to feed, protect and taking care of him
The moment I realized my mistake, the lights grew dim.
I went back to my master but found him gone
Instead, a letter was found saying with my master, they ran
They also asked for money, a huge sum at that
Oh, I just pray my master is safe somewhat.
Tyr was held captive in a secret cabin

By some people who are jealous of his social standin'.
They picked on him, punched him and kicked 'im
And drove him to the point 'till his eyes grew dim.
They finally got bored and left him alone like trash
And waited for me to bring the cash.
The master said that I'll not come by
He said he was cruel to me and acted sly
They got annoyed on listening his complaint
And banged his head to the table was a taint
Of pure red blood from my master's head
Now his life is hanging from a thread.
When the boss reached home,
I greeted him alone
With a huge frown on my face
He listened my story in a daze.
He started to gather their money desired,
I told him that there is no need to them to inquire.
I may not look like it
but in my previous job, I was a hunter's aid.
I learned to shoot arrows; I learned to hunt beasts
To bring of course to my mother a yummy bountiful feast.
I told my boss to not worry
For I will save my master in a hurry.
I immediately went up to my room and opened a chest,
Full of bows, arrows and sheathed weapons at rest.
I quickly grabbed them and ran to the stairs,
Just to see my boss standing and stared.
He held in his hand a basket of food
He said to bring it to the master to cheer up his mood.
And then I said farewell and not to worry to the boss,
For I will save the master at how much cost.
Back to the cabin~
Two men were singing as they were expecting a sum
But then their wooden door in front of them was shot.
They just blinked for a moment and the door just broke
And they saw me in their doorstep wearing a cloak.
They were scared but still asked
"Are you the one who we asked to bring the ransom of the lad?"
I looked at them with anger, full of hatred, full of rage,
Their hands were shot by arrows like a book torn of its page.
I at least spared their lives and walked, with them on the ground,
Then I glared to them and said, "If you do that again to my master, then we'll have another round."
I hurriedly walked to my master and with a knife, cut his ropes,
Gave him a big embrace and some gentle strokes.
I took out a small box namely a medicine kit,
And tended to my master's wounds, every part that was hit.
I carried him off in my arms and went back home
As I left those filthy pests in the ground alone.
At home ~
When I reached the front door the boss and my mother had worried looks,
But I told them to sit down and hit some books.
They went as I told them as I laid down my master,
And served some hot tea as I put him some plaster.
To be continued~
So, guys, how is this poem? Is it okay. I'm actually having trouble with my vocabulary so until next time! Don't worry, the second part will be shorter.

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14

Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 1 chapter per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] The cover art is courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge
