《Our Toxic Love》6.

My breathe hitched as I held out my hand, as he began to clasp hold of my hand 'Iris' Goo Goo dolls began playing from the band. In one swift movement my hand in his, his other hand on my waist. Everything inside my body was telling me to turn around and walk away but I didn't. I didn't even flinch. Why was he doing this? He hates me? Was it part of some joke?. He began moving his feet, for a moment I panicked as slow dancing was not my strong point but it didn't matter. He led me with every step, I never faltered once. I took a second to watch our hands clasped together before I shook off whatever madness was running through my head.
"Now why on earth would you ask me to dance?" I sneered at Draco.
"Well I saw you looking all sad with yourself all alone, I may be cocky but I'm not a monster" he laughed as he spoke.
Reality sunk in that it wasn't because he wanted to, just because he felt bad. Not like I was expecting any better than that. "Wow, well thank you I don't know what I would do without my knight in shining armour." I laughed back with a patronising smile. He quickly pulled me so close to his chest then flew me back and span me under his arm making we do a twirl. For a moment I just felt like I was flying, unsure whether he was going to let go and let me free fall to the ground but he never did...I was back to my post, close to him.
"Well that's some smile" Draco spoke softly, more serious than his previous comments. I hadn't realised the gigantic smile that had spread across my face. I guess the thrill of spinning around a dance floor had gone to my head but when I looked up at his face I couldn't help but notice the small smile that had reached his mouth too. It must of been the first time I had seen him look like he was actually enjoying himself without harassing somebody or being a total dick! I tried my best to tame my smile so Draco didn't start getting any other ideas to mock me.

The song was beginning to come to an end when I saw Harry's face from across the dance floor, a look of almost disgust in my direction. I pulled my hand away from Draco with such speed I think I may had even shocked him.
"Sorry! Erm thanks for that, it was...nice of you" I gave him one last smile.
His eyes narrowed slightly with confusion of my sudden need to leave but I knew if I had stayed the only thing to of come from it was to lose the only friend I had managed to make and I wasn't planning on ruining that now.
"Well don't get used to it" he shot his daggers I had begun to know so well and hastily was on his way.
Before I had chance to confront the nausea I suddenly felt Harry was by my side.
"Hey! Poor you ending up with Malfoy, I thought you would of ended up with Dean but I guess he didn't see you."
Yes poor me.

"How was your Christmas Break?" Dumbledore said as he invited me into the office
"Well I was pretty much alone in this entire castle, roaming around like a lady of leisure so I can't say it was too bad" In fairness it really hadn't been bad, I studied, relaxed and tried my best to not think about anyone in particular.
"So how are you finding Hogwarts Ivy" He spoke as he made his way round his monstrous desk.
I took a seat opposite him, "Well it's ok, I've struggled making friends to say the least. Nearly all of my classes are with other houses who refuse to speak to me because I'm in Slytherin and then none of Slytherin want to be friends with me because they have no idea who I am because they never see me." I gasped for my breath as I realised I hadn't taken one in my rant.
"I see, Well maybe this might help with that. A new lesson schedule. You'll find yourself in more of a mixed group, hopefully that will help with your situation." He handed me over a piece of paper, I scanned over it and saw quite a few changes.
"Thank you that means a lot"
"Well you better get back to lessons, be sure to check your schedule to make sure you're in the right place" Dumbledore guided me over to the door.

"Thank you again, I'll see you soon" I took a quick look to see where I was suppose to be. Nooooo potions with Snape, my least favourite lesson.
As I got outside the door I could hear the muffles of students already, once I walked in I realised I was surrounded by Syltherins. Great. I took a seat at the only table with free spaces on it with Pansy and Blaise. Before my arse had even hit the sit I could already hear Pansy beginning to speak.
"What are you doing?" Her face screwed up like a ball of paper.
I could feel my nerves getting the better of me "Oh erm my schedule changed so I now I have different-."
"No. What are you doing sitting with us" I wasn't too sure if she was joking so I didn't know whether to laugh or get up immediately.
"Erm what? Sorry it's just the only table with any seats left" I gulped down the lump in my throat.
"And?" Pansy sneered.
"Shut it Pansy, I wouldn't mind having a bit of something sweet to look at. Shame you weren't facing the other way so I could check out your ass" he said with a wink. Each time I tried to string a sentence the words wouldn't form in my mouth.
"You're a pig" Pansy slapped him across the shoulder. Least we could agree on something. I looked to my left and there was still one seat empty. I crossed both my fingers and toes praying that that's how it would remain until I heard the sound of books hitting the surface of the table. As I looked up Draco was staring me straight in the face.
"Hi" my voice resembling a mouses squeak. His daggers did not alter and his mouth never moved. Instead he just sat next to me without a word. Well this was going to be fun.
We remained like this for the entire lesson as Snape dragged on about all sorts of things that were not sticking in my head because I couldn't help but feel on edge that he was next to me, I was just waiting for a comment off him. I was that nervous I was shaking my leg back and forth knocking the table leg.
"Do you mind continuously kicking me" Draco's voice was stern and he was staring straight at me.
"What?"
"Stop. Kicking me" he pointed under the table to my complete horror that the table I was kicking was actually his leg. I felt my face going crimson with embarrassment. He returned back to his text book and never spoke again. This actually went on for some time, in fact I think it had been a month since he had spoke. Instead we sat in silence filled with an undeniable tension that surrounded us. Trying to push that to the back of my mind I focused on my friend Harry, his second task was today and we had been working so hard to try and figure what the hell he was going to do, so praise Merlin that Neville Longbottom saved the day.
We all gathered on the stands waiting for Dumbledore to start the procedures, I waited with Harry as Hermione and Ron were no where to be found but something caught my eye. There I saw Draco with a flirtatious smile on his face giving what looked like his best lines to Fleur and I don't know if I was going completely mad but I think she was enjoying it. I felt a burning inside me and as much as I didn't want to admit it I think there was a small chance it could of been jealousy. I tried so hard not to stare but for some reason my eyes were fixed, if Draco looked at me now I'd look psychotic!
"Er..Ivy is anyone there?" I darted my eyes back to Harry's waving hand in front of my face.
"Is everything ok Ivy" I felt Harry's hand wrap around my wrist.
I quickly looked down and then returned back to his eyes. "Sorry yeah I just thought I saw something, anyway forget about me! How are you?" I reached over and grabbed his wrist without thinking so we were stood there nearly hand in hand. I was about to pull away when I felt a glare in the side of my head, maybe I wouldn't let go just yet.
