《Mission Jurassic [Zach Mitchell x Male!Reader]》Chapter 5

It turns out you and the brothers were on the same floor across from each other. You watched as Gray dashed into the hotel room as soon as Zara opened the door. Zach then followed behind with his stuff before going inside. You sighed before staring at your room. Inserting the card into the slot, the door shined bright green before unlocking itself.
"Hey," You heard Zach behind you. Turning around, you saw him. "After, you finish your thing we'll all leave."
"Yes, I know." You agreed, "But, if I don't come back early then go without me."
"I'm sure it won't take that long." Zach pushed his hands into his pockets.
"You don't know that for sure, Zach," You said, "It could take all day."
"What are you doing that's so important?" He questioned.
"It's a secret." You winked.
"Oh." Zach's eyes widened. He was caught off guard for a second before regaining himself. "That sounds like a secret mission."
Your eyes widened before realizing he was actually joking.
"Heh, that's a very clever joke." You chuckled slightly, causing Zach to smile a little. You then changed the subject. "Well, I'm gonna go into my room now."
"Yes, yes, go ahead." Zach nodded, heading back towards his room. He stared at you one more time before locking the door. You then went into your room. Your eyes widened at how spacious and extravagant it was. The bed looked soft and there was a view to see the whole island. As you dropped your suitcase, your phone rang.
"Hello." You answered your phone.
"Oh good," Donnie replied, "You arrived at Jurassic World."
"What?" You blinked in confusion. "How do you know that?"

"I saw you through the cameras." He explained, "I work in the Control Room."
"Why?" Your voice laced in suspicion.
"Well, I thought--"
"Donnie, cut to the bullshit." You interrupted him. "You're here because my Mom sent you."
"W-what?! That's ridiculous! I--" Donnie rambled on while you glared. He then sighed in defeat. "Okay, yeah, she did send me, but I won't interfere! I swear!"
"Fine." You believed him. "So, where is Hoskins headed?"
"He's headed towards the Raptor Enclosure." He responded, "You have your pass, right? That will get you inside."
"I have it in my bag." You stated, "I'll go there now."
Donnie hung up and then you put your phone back into your pocket. You checked to see if your suit was under your clothes, grabbed your pass and then walked out the door.

"Excuse me," A man stopped you. "No, visitors are allowed at the Raptor Enclosure. It's not open to the public yet."
"Actually, I have access." You stated, giving him your card. You then introduced yourself to him. The man then blinked, seemingly recognizing your name.
"Wait, I think I know you." He noted, "Are you...Ray's son?"
Ray was the name of your dad. It's been a while since you heard that name.
"Who wants to know?" You asked.
"You...you don't remember me?" The man questioned. You shrugged, unsure of what to say. "I'm Owen. Owen Grady. I was best friends with Ray. Wow, I haven't seen you since you were two. You were so small back then."
You racked your brain, trying to remember an Owen Grady. That's when it hit you. Your dad did mention befriending a guy named Owen.

"And, now look at you," Owen continued, "You look great. Just like your old man."
"Oh, thanks." You replied, feeling flattered by his compliment. Admittedly, he was attractive. With his muscular build, stubble chin and handsome face, you assumed he got a lot of dates.
"I didn't know you were coming." Owen smiled, "Well, come on, you wanted to see raptors, right?"
You nodded before following him from behind. As you got closer, you heard a plethora of animal noises while going up the stairs. You realized that the four raptors were chasing after a pig. It dashed into its cage, safe from the clutches of their claws. The raptors all came to a halt and then began searching for the pig.
"Alright," Owen smirked, rubbing his hands together in anticipation. "Check this out."
Owen used a clicker to command the raptors to follow his orders. According to him, they had names. Their names were Blue, Delta, Echo and Charlie. You were impressed at how well they followed his commands. Occasionally they would snap their jaws in annoyance, but overall they still listened. Owen then awarded them with treats before sending them off.

Sorcery in Boston
The timid daughter of some of the greatest spellcasters ever to have lived has found herself in another world, courtesy of magic gone awry. In Boston, Massachusetts, in the year 1935, she finds some kind souls in a hard era. In the heart of the Great Depression, as war looms around the corner, she seeks to find her place, and must come to terms with both who she is and what she truly desires. Author's Notes: Release Note: I recently realized what the hold up is. My current mental state is not compatible with the planned ending. If I wrote the ending according to what currently feels right, it will be a wretched, cruel ending that feels monstrously unfair and invalidates the work of the various characters... because that's how my life feels at the moment. The planned ending is coming out hollow and awkward, no matter how I write it, and so I've been bashing my head. I will finish it, once I manage to either brute force something decent out, or once my head gets screwed on straight. Audience: This story is not for young children - it contains some profanity, sexual content, violence, gore, and significant adult themes. Most of these are handled delicately enough not to upset teens or adults (hopefully), hence the lack of relevant tags, but it is nonetheless unsuitable for youth. It's fairly slow paced, and focused on the development of very human, very flawed individuals. Length / Completion Estimates: The outline currently involves two books. Book 1 is expected to be done with Chapter 43. It'll probably be completely finished by sometime in March of this year. I expect to move on to the far-more-lighthearted Of Gods and Dungeons (currently in progress / on hiatus). Afterwards, I may decide to redo Book 1, or write Book 2, or actually start sharing the story most dear to me, that I've been working on for several years now. Draft 1: Please be aware that this is first draft material. I do intend to come back to do a second draft after the story is complete. If anyone notices any issues whatsoever with the story, please let me know (pm, etc) so that I can improve the second draft. Writer's Pledge: I've taken the Writer's Pledge, meaning I'm commiting to completing this story. I'm a proud member of WriTE, a group dedicated to finishing stories. It will be done! Behind the Scenes notes: This picture was commissioned from an inked artist by the name of DanP. Up until the time of the protagonist's arrival, history has proceeded as before. Some places and characters have been borrowed from wikipedia entries of interesting figures from the time. I will make note in the chapter comments when such things come up. Naturally, I've taken a great deal of liberty with them. In interest of respecting individuals, I've either attempted to portray them as accurately as possible, or modified them sufficiently enough that they're simply an inspiration, instead of a real portrayal. I've attempted to be as accurate to the era as possible, but I'm not a historian. If you're aware of inaccuracies, please, bring them to my attention so that I can correct them.
