Vance - I think Vance was hit in the nose with a snap object until he could breathe because if you look in the photo you can see most of the blood is coming from his nose more than anywhere else and if you look close you can see a slash on the top of his nose where it looks as if he was stabbed/cut.

-billy/paper boy - I think billy died by being slashed in the face (probably with a knife or a piece of glass)and he also was maybe shot or stabbed near the chest in the photo you can see there's a hole/ripped in the jacket and it looks as if that spot was bleeding out .
