Brett Yang and Eddy Chen are now middle-aged. Continuing their careers as soloists, raising and loving two beautiful children, having a very active golden retriever and daily practice, there are things that they cannot and will not forget. Except one thing...

Third Person POV

Brett and Eddy were back home in Australia for the month of June. Their lovely daughters were sat on the couch, minding away in their businesses. It was their twenty-third wedding anniversary soon that's why their daughters were with them.

Shane, the older of the two, was with her husband and their two lovely children. Brett and Eddy had her before they were even married. They had her when she was fourteen because her biological father, who was a dear friend of theirs, cannot take care of her. So, they took her into their care and formed their family.

Brett and Eddy were happy to take her in because they do want to have a child even if they weren't married yet. Shane was thankful that her current dads had took her in. So, there she was at thirty-five. Her lovely and caring husband, Dean and her two wonderful children, John and Clara.

She smiled as her fathers were beaming with excitement as they carried their grandchildren. Dean smiled and held her hand. She kissed him on the cheek and held his hand, squeezing as a form of unspoken communication.

Jasmine, their other daughter, was only twenty-one. After years of trying to adopt, they finally gave Jasmine as a blessing to the Chen-Yang family. They raised her the same way they raised Shane and she even helped with taking care of her. Jasmine said that she wanted everyone to meet her significant other.

Her significant other, Alex, was non-binary. So, they all respected that the pronouns they will use for Alex is they/them. Brett and Eddy were just glad that even their little girl is happy with her significant other.

"Jas?" Shane whispered as they were alone in the kitchen now.

"Hmm?" Jasmine asked.

"What do we do for their wedding anniversary?" Shane asked again.

"Well, since you and your family are here already, what if we go and cook them a traditional Taiwanese feast... Let's all have a dinner on the huge ass balcony we have. They have spare tables there, right? Let's just decorate it..." Jasmine suggested.

"Yeah, that would be awesome. Let's start decorating tomorrow morning, okay? Before papa and dad wake up." Shane said.

"Of course. Let's just make the theme simple. Like photographs of every moment in their life. And handmade decorations. I'm sure they'll appreciate your art skills." Jasmine continued. "Oh, make sure your children do something cute for their grandparents. I bet both of them will cry." Jasmine added, laughing.

Shane laughed too as she made her way back to her children and husband.

They were all outside of the balcony, decorating it. The two men were still asleep, still not fixing their circadian rhythms. Thankfully, it's one of the days where their crazy sleeping schedule helped. They were finished putting up everything with the help of Dean and Alex.

They shut the curtains and stalled their papa and dad from going to the balcony. It was easy since both were practicing. John and Clara were with their grandparents on the practice room as they asked them for stories. Mostly for stalling time and allowing their parents and aunt to go to the market for their dinner later that night.

"Baba Brett, how did you and papa Eddy met?" Little Clara asked, smiling at Brett as she made grabby hands. Asking to sit on Brett's lap.

"Well, little Clara, if you were so curious... Me and Eddy met when we were young. He was thirteen and I was fourteen. We were attending the same tuition for maths and he sat next to me. That was Friday night, so the next day we met in youth orchestra again..." Brett smiled, recalling the memory.

"Woah! You and papa Eddy met so long ago. It's so long ago I can't count it with my ten finger and my ten toes!" Seven year old Clara said, giggling quite hard.

Brett tickled her and she shrieked. She was ticklish like Eddy.

"I never knew you and papa knew each other for so long..." John said quietly.

"Yeah, we were quite young..." Eddy replied, ruffling with thirteen year old John's hair.

Eddy sat down on the piano bench and played clair de lune. Brett smiled as he carried Clara and swayed her around. John sat down next to Eddy and watched his hands in fascination. John didn't play piano or violin but he does play classical guitar. He started when he was seven when he saw his father constantly play on the guitar.

He was closer to Eddy somehow but he loved Brett's company too. He watched Brett and Clara from afar and smiled. Brett noticed the smile and brought Clara down so that John could have his turn. John was hesitant but took Brett's hand anyway.

He started swaying gracefully, leading Brett to a waltz despite being shorter. This is what he saw and somehow adapted from Eddy. The quickness of learning a dance. It was quite fascinating.

Clara was the one who played the piano. So, when he watched Eddy, she looked up at him with such curious eyes. The piece ended and she whispered in Eddy's ear.

"Papa, will I be able to play like that someday?" She asked, looking cutely at Eddy.

"Of course you can! Just don't forget to always practice..." Eddy said, kissing her forehead. She happily hugged her grandfather and smiled.

"Baba, how did you know you had feelings for papa?" John asked.

Brett carried Clara on her place next to Eddy and placed her on his lap. John took a chair and sat near them.

"It's funny, actually. We got together because of a hangover..." Brett said, laughing.

"Baba, what's a hangover?" Clara asked.

"An adult headache, dear..." Brett said, not wanting to explain too much. She nodded and Brett continued, John stifled a laugh as Brett explained. Eddy and John shared the same expression.

"Anyway, Papa Eddy here, took care of me. Me, not knowing what I was doing because of a headache, accidentally called Eddy honey. We both froze for a while but the nickname stuck until now." Brett replied, laughing.

"Well, you're half correct. I'm not your honey anymore. I'm your hubby... Hubby..." Eddy said, putting emphasis on his pet name.

"Okay, hubby..." Brett mocked as their grandchildren laughed.

"Baba, you still have the classical guitar that grandpapa used before?" John asked, referring to Brett's father with the use of grandpapa.

"Yeah, I do. It's in the closet there. Why?" Brett asked, curiously.

"I wanted you and papa to have a dance, that's all..." John said sheepishly.

He's been practicing an arrangement of salut d'amour for the past two weeks. This should be the perfect present for his grandads. John grabbed the guitar as Clara made the two men stand up.

"What's this for, sweetie?" Eddy asked as she tugs on their hand.

"You and baba dance." She simply replied.

"Yeah, you guys dance. I'll play you the piece I've been practicing." John offered.

Brett and Eddy smiled, walking in the middle of the practice room. Clara asked everyone to go to the room to watch them dance. Everyone did, just so they wouldn't come out yet. John started the piece and everyone grew quiet.

It was somehow so homely for Brett and Eddy. Standing there in their pajamas, barefoot and with socks only, dancing to a beautiful rendition of salut d'amour played by their grandson. Their children dancing with their own lovers and it all goes quite well.

"I love you, honey..." Brett whispered.

"I love you too, but I'm your hubby... Hubby, Brett. Hubby." Eddy said, whispering too.

"I'm your hubby, too. Dumbass." Brett replied, chuckling lightly.

"Shut the fuck up and don't ruin the moment, motherfucker." Eddy said as he laughed with Brett, still dancing.

The celebration dinner went well that night.

"Papa, where your marriage certificate? I need a copy for the work I'm applying for." Shane asked as she looked through their files.

"Should be there somewhere. Third drawer, if I'm not mistaken." Brett replied.

She opened the drawer and found it. Produced a copy and kept in back in place after making sure the copy was clear. She rechecked the date to make sure if the day is correct. Her eyes widened as she saw the date was a day wrong?

"Papa! Come! Emergency!" Shane screamed.

She heard her father's footsteps. He peeked through the door, out of breath.

"What?" Brett asked with panic.

She just handed Brett the paper, laughing a little.

"Edward Chen!" Brett screamed, it was now Eddy who ran towards the room. As breathless as Brett was a while ago.

"Uh oh, I did something wrong, didn't I?" Eddy asked as he panted.

Brett handed him the paper. Eddy started laughing hysterically.

"So, we've been celebrating our anniversary a day earlier for the past thirteen years?" Eddy asked, still laughing.

"Shut the fuck up, Edward. This is not funny..." Brett said with a serious tone.

"Oh man. I can't..." Eddy said, still laughing hard. Even Shane laughed alongside of Eddy.

"How could you find this amusing, Edward? We literally adjusted our anniversary a day earlier because of you thirteen years ago..." Brett said, trying to keep his laughter to himself.

"Hubby, Brett. I'm hubby. I'm not Edward. It's illegal to call me anything but hubby." Eddy said, hugging Brett from behind.

"I don't want to hear it from you... And since where are you hubby? I'm hubby and you're honey." Brett argued back but not making an effort to leave Eddy's arms.

"You guys are too old to be arguing about pet names." Shane said, wiping her tears due to laughing too much.

"Shut the fuck up." Brett and Eddy said simultaneously.

She laughed again, looking at them with disbelief.

"It's been years since you guys have quit YouTube but you still share the same braincell." Shane replied.

"It's not something you lose overtime, you know?" Eddy said.

She left the room laughing, closing the door behind her.

"You're an idiot, honey." Brett said lovingly, turning around to face Eddy.

"Hubby, my hubby..." Eddy said, leaning down to kiss Brett.

"I don't want to kiss you..." Brett replied, but still hugged Eddy.

"But hubby... It's not my fault we forgot..." Eddy said, pouting.

"Still..." Brett said, not moving away.

Eddy and Brett laid down on the bed. Eddy tucked them both in and stole a kiss from Brett. Brett turned to his side away from Eddy with a smile.

"Cuddle me then, hubby..."

At that, Eddy smiled and obliged.
