When it's three am and both men find themselves awake, what's the most logical thing to do than go outside and waltz to this song even if it isn't in waltz meter.

Third Person POV

It wasn't uncommon for the two men to be awake at this hour in the morning. Both just wanted to get work done but they find that they're more productive during that time. What's unusual though, is the fact that they've done everything that they're supposed to. Three in the mornings were usually when filled with mugs of coffee and work.

It was just by accident that both of them fell asleep late in the afternoon. Both men just couldn't go back to sleep. Not at this stage when they know that coming back to bed would be futile. Brett prepared them coffee as Eddy grabbed a couple of merch hoodie from their closet.

Both met at the living room when their respective tasks were done. Eddy was the first one to sip coffee while Brett slipped on the hoodie Eddy grabbed. When both were wearing hoodies, Eddy had a strange idea.

"Brett, the moon's shining bright. Let's go to the balcony."

Brett didn't respond but only followed Eddy, grabbing their mugs of coffee. They were both night persons, but Eddy appreciated the nightlife more. He wasn't one to go out and party every night and get wasted on bars. Eddy was the type of guy who loved three am joyrides and the quiet of convenience stores in the wee hours of the morning. Eddy was the type of nightlife that's quiet yet alive. He was more of the party's over type of guy.

Brett, on the other hand, was the type of nightlife that you would described. He was the life of the party, he was fun and he never gets too drunk. He's just tipsy enough to feel a bit more confident about himself. Brett was the type of nightlife that's fun, loud but he was still grounded. He was the main party.

They balance out each other like that. Together, they were the couple where the sober one considers it a joyride when he picks the tipsy one up. They were the couple who made shopping at a convenience store fun. They were perfect for each other and no one can deny that. Everyone could see that they were simply destined for each other.

So, there they were. Outside the balcony and gazing at the stars and admiring the full moon that shines brightly on them. There were no distance between Brett and Eddy as they finished their coffee.

Brett had an idea to make it more fun.

He set their now empty mugs on the table and pulled his phone out from his pocket. Eddy was confused but still followed suit. Brett put on salut d'amour by Elgar on repeat and asked Eddy for a dance.

Who was Eddy to refuse a dance from his terrible dancer of a boyfriend?

Eddy opened his palm for Brett's hand to rest on. Brett placed his hand on top of Eddy's open hand and interlocked then together. Eddy put his other hand on Brett's waist and Brett put his free hand on Eddy's shoulder. They start of easy by swaying side by side.

Eddy decided to teach Brett waltz step. Even if the piece wasn't in waltz meter, they waltzed to it.

"Brett, if I put my my left foot forward you bring your right foot back and we slide a little on the side. Then for the next step, you put your right foot forward and I put my left foot back. We slide back to where we originally from. That's the box waltz." Eddy explained.

Both of them were smiling ridiculously at the irony of it. They were waltzing to salut d'amour at three am, on their balcony with the moon shining down on them. Eventually, both got tired of the waltz step and decided to just away from side to side, like they initially did.

Their foreheads touching and both their eyes closed. They listen to the piece and rhythmically sway to it. They whispered sweet nothings for other to hear. They pour out their unspoken sentiments to each other. Sentiments that aren't mentioned in broad daylight because it seems too vulnerable and private.

They also talk about nothing and everything all at once. Brett was even humming the melody of the piece. Another reason why they balance out each other nicely is the fact that Brett can sing and Eddy can dance.

It's the talents that they haven't expanded on, only because they were more focused with their violin playing. It was their passion, more than anything else. Music is simply like second nature to them. It's more than what people think.

It's one of the things that keep them together. They drive each other to do their best and encourage the other to keep on going. It doesn't matter if it's Brett and Eddy or Eddy and Brett.

What matters is they love each other until the end of their lifetime.
