《Do you want to play a game?》XII

"There seems to be a misunderstanding. We are not here to hurt you or collect your dept. Let me remind you that we are here yo give you a chance-"
"A chance?! We play some kids games and you shoot us. You want me to choose that? Thats some chance!" Said someone in the crowd, cutting off Boss.
"We may be in dept sir but that doesn't justify killing us all!"
"This is just a game."
Then there was that annoying murmuring again.
"Killing everyone out there was a game to you huh!?"
"They were simply eliminated for breaking the rules of the game. If you just follow the rules, you can leave this place safely with the prize money we promised."
"Just keep you damv money. I dont care! Let me just go home. Thats all I want."
Everyone began to chatter but I couldn't make out what they were saying.
"Let us leave. Let us go!"
"Consent form clause 1- A player is not allowed to stop playing."
"Come on! You think you'll get away with this, huh? The police will come they will bust in here any minute now. They will be here since we all disappeared!"
"yeah! And i bet they have everybody's phone tracked here already. Look at all tour hostages. Youre doomed if you dont let us go!"
"Were all dead!" A woman shouted. The a loud gun shot sounded. We all ducked down and held out heads in our hand to try to avoid getting shot. The guards that were stood behind Boss cocked their guns and aimed towards us.
"Consent form clause 2. A player who refuses to play will be eliminated," explained Boss as he still stared at us and signalled to the others to lower their guns.

"So if we refuse to play, we die. But if we play, we might end up dead anyways," I thought as someone spoke up.
"Consent form clause 3. If all the players agreed to stop playing, the games are allowed to end, or am i wrong?" Said San-woo. I had picked up his name from esse dropping on 456s conversation with him. I looked at the guards and saw that they were all either staring at me or exchanging quick glances of me whenever they thought that Boss wasn't looking. This made me blush and I swear I could all wave slightly at me. Waving back, they tilted his head to the side slightly as if they were all very happy and gave me a small hidden thumbs up each so that only I could see. They all had a circle on their masks. I smiled and turned my attention back to Boss.
"You are correct."
"So lets vote on ending this. If the majority wishes to leave this place, then everyone gets to go home right?"
"All right, as you wish. We will take a vote to decide on the termination of the game."
The guards who was staring at me before, tensed at what Boss was saying and looked down. Were they-sad? Why would they be sad? AGAIN, people stared to mutter.
"Before we vote, let me announce the prize money for the game ad previously promised." Boss pulls out a small remote from his pocket and pressed a button and
a loud beep fills the room making the ceiling begins to rumble. I lifted my head to look at the ceiling when a digital trilling noice sounded as a giant glads piggy bank emerged from it. A clear gladd tube positioned itself above the whole in the top and money began to fall into it.

Lone: The Wanderer [Rewrite]
Nine-to-five. The daily grind. Life. Painful years of school. Working as a slave for some undeserving corporate big-wig. The monotonous life of unemployment. We all experience this in one way or another, and we can all conclude one thing: it's dull. Such a fact rings true even for the fabled Lone Immortus, a powerful nine-tailed Golden Foxkin. However, what would you do if your monotony was suddenly ground to a halt and you were thrown out of your comfort zone along with a young girl forgotten by time? Perhaps you might have done things differently, been more organised, immediately died, gained control of the world in a matter of days, but this is Lone's tale, not yours. Watching two insecure people struggle to survive and find their place in an unfamiliar land just might be enjoyable to witness. Who knows? One thing's for certain: it won't be an easy path for them to tread, and what could possibly be more entertaining than watching people endure hardships and grow? I know of at least eight gods that would answer with, 'Absolutely nothing.' I wonder, after seeing this journey from start to finish, how would you answer? [Goal of 1 chapter per week, the only exceptions being announced breaks or emergencies] The cover art is courtesy of the very kind and talented ssddx. This novel is a participant in The Writer's Pledge
