《Free Your Mind》Chapter Fifteen: Those Games You'd Play

Each passing day, I'd worry for you. Wondering are you okay, and if I could help you. But you'd string me along, I'd always attempt to reach for you. But you'd only play games, continually teasing me. You never gave it a shot, never taking me seriously.
And it always hurts, those tricks you'd play on me. Each worse than the first, left little scars all along me. Harming my will to help any of the others, because all you'd ever do is play me so hard. All those things you'd say, they were all just lies weren't they. You'd never say your truth, enjoying the play. Each lie you'd say pierced through me like a shining blade. Yet you'd still play the victim, always saying that you were my victim.
Continuing to trip me, yet you'd never know you're doing it. After all it's your nature, it's clear I need to mature. So maybe these games you'd play, were just your twisted way to say that I'm always too trusting, simply way too naive. However, I could see through your guise, that consistent act. Those deceptions and lies, that you truly care for me. It seemed I was only an annoyance to you, so shall I just leave with not another word.
Yet it always still hurts, these cruel tricks you play on me. Each always worse than the first, leaving deep cuts all along me. Harming my desire to assist anyone else, because you'd never stop your smoke and mirrors, never stopping your play. And all those things you'd say, they were all truly lies, weren't they. Each shot a hole deep in my heart, a shockwave of a bomb. And yet you'd remain, and you'd always claim of being the victim, why was it always you who was the victim?

But I'd forever hold on, never able to let go. In the guilt and fear, that you'd hurt yourself because of me. So, I still stay by your side always. Despite all the harm, your nature causes me. I'm still hanging on, in fear of the repercussions. Always worrying that if I ever dare to leave, you'd feel to blame for my stupidity. Hopefully one of these days, we can put a stop to all those games you'd play.

The Chromagnum's Sacrifice
Seventeen years ago, the Chromagnum fell from the sky. It's impact shattered the world, and brought the society to its knees. As humanity slowly pulled itself together, they realized that the Chromagnum brought with it a poison that corrupted the living. Abominations began cropping up around the crash site. Monsters with powdery black skin, and glowing orange eyes. Monsters who seemed hell-bent on consuming. Destroying everything in their path, the monsters swept eastwards towards the kingdom of Elendial. A war raged. And humanity crumpled. Retreating deep within their strongholds as the land became ruled by the corrupted creatures spawned by the Chromagnum. Then a leader arose, and humanity rallied. King Magnus drove back the slavering hordes and fought to bring peace to the land once more. However our story does not chronicle King Magnus’ rise to power. Nor does it detail how he collected the elites of the kingdom and forged them into the sharpest of blades. No. Our story tells the tale of young Ril Renar. An orphan. Alone, rejected by society. Ril travels across Elendial searching desperately for a family to call his own. Along the way he will find friends and struggle mightily to convince them to make a space in their hearts for him. Book 1 - Complete (0-30) Book 2 - Ongoing (31-) This story is a softcore progression classic fantasy with LitRPG elements. The story is about searching for family, love, loss, sacrifice, and of course power. The content warnings are mild.

If anyone asked Eric if he hated his life or not, he would definitely state that yes, he did indeed hate his life. He was the kind of person who much preferred to stay in their room all day, daydreaming about all the fantastic lives he could be living, rather than the terrible one he's living now. Luckily for Eric, such an opportunity presents itself one night, on his eighteenth birthday. Dropped into the fantasy world of Allaria, Eric finds that he now has a second shot at living the life he dreams of. Unfortunately, not only does he have no idea what he's doing, but he soon comes to realize that this new world doesn't particularly care about him at all, and that there are many people out in this new world that aren't exactly the most fantastic bunch of folks. After being forced into working for a group of ragtag outcasts with questionable morals, Eric finds that life in this fantasy world is a whole lot more work than he originally thought.
8 107The Runners of Westal
Anya Vorian wasn't picky. She'd take any apprenticeship that came her way. She, Lori and Andrew had prepared all winter for the interviews, but when only one offer came with her name on it, she suddenly wasn't so sure that she could do it. It was hard work, for one thing. It was dirty. They were respected, certainly, but in the sort of way that one respects a skilled plumber - grateful to have the job done, but glad it isn't your arms elbow deep in dung. In short, runners were odd folk. Maybe it was time to get fast. - A first-person tale inspired by long distance running.
