As a full-time author, I often need to make hard decisions. After a quarter of poor sales, I sometimes have to focus on projects that are more likely to pay my bills. Unfortunately, Essence Eater didn't hit as hard as I had hoped in Rising Stars, and my publisher also says that superhero stuff is a hard sell on Amazon. So, I'm shelving the project for a few months even though I have everything planned to a T.

There will be no rewrites, however. I'm very pleased with this version and will continue in its current glory. For now, I'm focusing on two projects. Many of you are aware of 'The Pen Is Mightier' and its upcoming rewrite 'Tower of Cards.' I hope to start uploading that around mid-September or early October. It's ready now, but I'm going on holiday next week, and I don't want to worry about a new release. The good news for that one is, that I already have 150k worth of content written. I plan to upload 55k(200 pages) in the first four days of release. And then do standard chapter drops five days a week. It's going to have a Patreon, too with massive tiers for cheap. I think 55k words worth of content for about $5-7. Card collecting/Deck-building/Tower of Cards happen, and we're confident it'll perform well.

Many of you also probably read Houndsman. The first few books were a joint project by my wife and me. I think it's what made the project so good. We used our combined voice for storytelling. Well, she had an idea, and we're doing so again rather casually.

Sis Tem's Apocalypse features an almost-nun called Sister Temarin. She's grown up in an orphanage run by the Temple of the Great Mother. Now, as a young adult, she is preparing to take her vows and serve the goddess while caring for the orphanage's children. They have lovingly dubbed her Sis Tem.

Then the apocalypse strikes, and a portal monster snatches her little ones, scattering them across the twisted world. Sis Tem now must take on the quest of finding her. The story has fantastic action thanks to her class 'Medicant Mage'. It's a Battle Mage/Healer hybrid class using spells like Scalpel, Cauterize, and Sutures. She uses creativity in mostly solo combat to take on her foes. Sis Tem hasn't seen the outside world, so there is much self-discovery.

The tale will also feature minor Monster Evo elements through her familiar and occasional base building as she teleports back to the orphanage once a week. We have 100+ pages up already and uploading daily. The chapters are short (average 1500 pages), but this isn't my focus project and the wife and I don't always find time to sit down and work together. We're treating this rather casually, too, and just playing with world building, cool dungeon concepts, and occasional wackiness.
