Cynthia's Pov:
I stared off into the sunset listening to the starlys sing their usual melody. Everything reminded me of him. From the smallest details in the clouds, to seeing other couples spending time together. It all just sent a twinge of pain through my heart, as if my mind was begging for more. Needing more of him. I sighed and checked the time on my Xtransceiver. 11:27am. A picture of Y/N smiled back at me from the background of the Xtransceiver. A tear ran down my cheek as I looked away and wrapped my cloak around tighter.
"Why...Y/N" I whispered. Images of the day that I lost Y/N flashed in front of my eyes. I watched in despair as the scenes played out in front of me. Y/N had fought off all of Team Plasma single-handedly while protecting me. He had turned to me and smiled, reassuring me.
"I love you so much Cynthia" I heard him whisper. A dark shadow had spread across the ground completely blocking out the sun. I turned around to see a menacing creature stood watching Y/N. It had a long, platinum coloured, segmented body with six legs, and ghostly wings with red spikes at their tips. The ruler of the alternate universe. Giratina. I backed up slowly, falling over. In the blink of an eye, Giratina had roared and surrounded Y/N in a black void. I couldn't see Y/N anymore. All I could do was listen in vain as Y/N cried in pain.
I shook myself from my daydream. Tears now flooding down my cheeks. My Xtransceiver started to beep. I wiped my tears away with my sleeve, trying to brighten my spirits. I checked the Xtransceiver. One new message. 'You have a new challenge Cynthia, this one is an interesting one'. I got up slowly from the balcony and walked back inside. 'An interesting one, huh?' I thought, taking the elevator back down. I fixed my appearance and pushed my hair back with clips. I walked out of the elevator and was greeted by a man dressed in all black, accompanied by a cloak as dark as a void. It's hood pulled up covering his face.

"Well. He beat all of us Cynthia" I heard Aaron say to my left. I nodded slowly. I took up my position and gestured for the mystery man to do the same. He walked to his position quietly.
"I'm Cynthia, I accept your challenge" I said, confidently. I could see the man nod slowly. I grabbed a pokeball and threw it towards the battlefield. The man chuckled and did the same.
"Come out Spiritomb" I commanded. I heard the man mutter quietly, as his Pokémon was revealed out of the pokeball. A big fox-like pokemon stood proudly on the battlefield. It's red claws razor sharp, followed by its cyan coloured eyes piercing through me. A Zoroark. Shivers went down my spine. I stood staring at the Zoroark, as it turned its head back towards the man. The man nodded slightly.
"Spiritomb. Use Silver Wind." I smiled, trying to stay confident. Spiritomb started to cast the move, but not before Zoroark vanished in an instant. I raised my eyebrow. Zoroark reappeared behind Spiritomb raising its claws up as they glowed purple striking Spiritomb with a direct hit. Spiritomb fell forward and fainted. I sighed softly, returning Spiritomb. I sent out Lucario. 'If only Y/N could see me now' I smiled to myself. 'I'll win this for him'
"Lucario. Aura Sphere. Switch" I commanded, adding the last part quietly. This was a move that me and Lucario has practiced before and now it was time to put it to use. Lucario built up a ball of power as Zoroark vanished again. 'Got you' I smirked to myself. Zoroark appeared behind Lucario. Lucario unleashed the blast of aura power and quickly switched the direction of the sphere of power to hit Zoroark directly. Zoroark was blasted back and knocked unconscious against the wall.
"Way to go Cynthia!" Flint shouted from the sidelines. I signalled a thumbs up in Flint's direction as the man returned Zoroark to its pokeball. The man rolled out his second pokeball onto the battlefield. A Lucario jumped out of the pokeball and got into a fighting stance. 'Fine a power battle it is' I thought.

"Lucario Aura Sphere" I commanded as Lucario charged up again.
"Nice try" I heard the man whisper. I watched as the opposing Lucario also charged up an aura sphere. Both Pokémon unleashed their aura spheres at the same time as they collided in the middle of the battlefield, causing cracks to appear in the floor. As the dust cleared I could see my Lucario had been knocked to the floor unconscious.
"Damn" I cursed under my breath, returning my Lucario. "Gastrodon, come out" I smiled. The man waited patiently, watching my every move.
"Gastrodon, use Earthquake" I commanded. The ground started to shake on the battlefield, splitting the cracks even more.
"Force palm the floor" The man's voice barely audible, due to the sound of the arena cracking apart. The Lucario's hand flowed as it targeted the floor beneath its feet, causing an explosion. 'What an idiot' I rolled my eyes. As the explosion cleared the Lucario was nowhere to be seen. I looked around frantically.
"Lucario, Aura Sphere" The man instructed. I looked up to see the Lucario had propelled itself into the air to dodge my earthquake. The Lucario released its aura sphere at my Gastrodon, injuring it badly.
"Can you still fight?" I asked, as Gastrodon nodded its head at me. "Alright. Earthquake again." The ground shook again as the Lucario prepared to do the same move again.
"Switch into Muddy Water" I instructed. Gastrodon unleashed a tsunami of water at Lucario connecting with it directly, rendering it unconscious. I smiled to myself.
"Keep going Cynthia!" I heard Lucian shout. The man returned his Lucario and looked down at his third pokeball. I watched as the man hesitated but slowly rolled out his third pokeball. 'No...' I backed away, looking up at the Pokémon that had appeared out of the pokeball. Giratina. Hate and anger washed over me as I stared up at Giratina. Giratina surrounded Gastrodon in a black void in the blink of an eye. Gastrodon fainted. I returned Gastrodon to its pokeball and sent out Milotic.
"I'll get revenge for you Y/N" I growled. "Milotic use Ice Beam" A thin stream of ice shot towards Giratina like a bullet connecting directly into its chest. Giratina roared and spread its ghostly wings fully.
"I'm sorry" I heard the man whisper. Giratina flashed purple and switched to its origin forme. Giratina dashed towards Milotic slamming into it. Milotic was sent straight into the wall, rendering it unconscious. I returned Milotic. 'I'm sorry' the man's words echoed in my head. I shook my head and sent out Roserade.
"Quick Energy Ball" I commanded. A small, green ball of energy flew at Giratina. The attack knocked Giratina out of the air as it roared again. Shivers went down my spine.
"Enough" The man whispered, returning the Giratina to its pokeball. The man turned away. I noticed one more ball still left unused at his belt.
"You still have one Pokémon left. Come back and finish the match" I raised my voice. The man stood still and put his hand on the pokeball. The man turned back around to face me. He rolled the pokeball out into the battlefield. A huge purple dragon towered over me, spreading its wings. 'A Garchomp!' I thought. 'Wait..' I stared at the man. 'No. It's not possible' I shook my head of irrational thoughts coming into my head. The Garchomp opened its mouth and spewed out a burst of flames, knocking Roserade unconscious. I returned Roserade and looked at my last pokeball, smiling. I threw out my last pokeball onto the battlefield. My Garchomp stood up proudly against the opposing Garchomp, roaring.
"Garchomp. Dragon Rush" I instructed. My Garchomp rushed forward and struck the man's Garchomp with a direct hit, pushing it backwards.
"Mega Evolve. Draco Meteor" The man shouted. 'I know that move...and that voice...'. My eyes widened. A flash of blue light filled the arena as countless meteors rained down on my Garchomp. As the light died down, my Garchomp was down unconscious. I stood still staring at the man.
"It can't be..." I choked on my words.
