all thought of the weather

flew to the wind

i gave a wobbly smile

but how do words begin?

his hoodie was sunset orange

and strategically ratty

he bagged my things

and he glanced at me shyly

i stuttered as he spoke

as he made certain i stayed afloat

but all i wanted to know

was how to build a better boat

he called my jacket angst-y

and his nose ring made me queasy

my stomach so uneasy

in the best possible way

he assured me angst-y was good

when i snorted at his comment

and all that time did he even notice

that i was fucking sea-sick?
