I check out of the building at 5:00 pm.

I turn and saw Jack horning his car right behind me.

"I'm guessing someone didn't have a pleasant day on her first day at work" jack tease bringing his head out through the rolled glass of his car.

"Not funny Jack".I said faking a hurt expression on my face.

" Why didn't you tell me, my boss, your supposedly best friend was so rude and arrogant his name should be Mr arrogant instead of Ashton. Sure a nice name." I asked frowning at him

" oh come on pretty. He is not that bad." Jack defended

Of course, he would, he is his friend after all right?

"Oh yes, he is. can you believe I almost gave up on my first day? It was that bad Jack. " I retorted

"He shouted at me for been just 5 minutes late from lunch break thanks to your silly jokes which made me spill my juice on my blouse, but I'm stronger than that, and I tried to endure his arrogant behavior." I continued

You can do it, Ella. I assure myself.

"I know you can deal with his harshness and arrogant behavior and trust me he is not a bad person, with the time you will come to know that yourself," Jack said

"Plus I wouldn't mind if you ever change your mind about warning my bed." Jack Joked

"Aw! Pervert " I hit his shoulder lightly.

During lunch, I had made it quite clear to him that I wasn't into the things he is

" I already figured because if you did then you wouldn't have had to cry over that cheater ex-boyfriend of yours." He had replied which made me feel a little bad but he created some lame jokes to relieve the tension.

I'm happy we are getting along except now he wouldn't stop teasing me.

"Get in let me give you a ride home," he said

I slide into his passenger seat whiles I pull out my phone from my purse to dial Ed's number

"Hi I'm sorry I'm late but I'm just wrapping things up and I will pick you up in 20 minutes." He rattles as the sound of paper rubbing and stumbling in the background.

" hi to you too, don't worry I have a ride home," I told him

He was quiet so I continued.

"I have got a new friend who is taking me home. I'm fine Ed but do pick me up tomorrow for work so I can tell you about my first day at work okay." I explained

"Okay, then take care. I have to go." He agreed

"Okay you to," I replied

"I see your brother is playing the protective brother huh?" Jack mused

" my best friend actually. " I corrected him.

"Really, then I will like to be your best friend where I can also worry about you too."

"We will see about that jack." My reply to him

"My pleasure Ella." He said smirking at me before adding "bye see you tomorrow at the office."

I wave at him as he turns on his car's engine and speeds off.

"Who was that charming guy who dropped you." Lena gushed walking toward me.

"I think you are missing the real question, which should have been 'how was your day at work today."

"You are no fun. I was going to ask you anyway but does it matter which one I ask first. I was just curious." Lena pout

I rolled my eyes

"Firstly, the order does matter Lena, it was my first day.

Secondly, he is a new friend from work."

"Okay now tell me how was your day.?"
