Nobody's pov
The two children walked around the dull basement trying to find something to dig into the wall with. "How about this?" Lucy asked with the top of the toilet lid in her hand. "Perfect" Finney said before the two walked to the wall. Finney and Lucy took turns hitting the toilet lid into the wall, after a while they made a dent. 'Bang' Lucy hit something. Finney scrambled over. "We need to get the panels off" Finney said. "Lets see if this works" He said holding a piece of metal. He got the panels off, revealing the back of a freezer. Finney crawled into the tight space and pushed against the door trying his best to open the freezer door.
Finny came out and fell to the floor. Lucy got into the tight space, meat was scattered inside. She tried to push against the door but again nothing happened it didn't budge. She came out of the space, the feeling of hope she had felt had gone. Finney was on the floor crying his eyes out. Lucy sat next to him putting her arm round his shoulder she then embraced him into a hug. She could feel Finney's warm tears soak into her t-shirt. She started to cry too, they were trapped.
The phone started to ring. Lucy and Finney walked up to it. "What" Finney asked into the phone. "Hey Finn, hey Lu" A voice said. "Robin?" Lucy asked. "Hey don't cry" Robin said before Finney wiped his eyes. "I'm not" Finney said. "Yes you were I've been with you, I've always been with you. "You have?" Finney asked. "A man never leaves a friend behind. That's why my dad never came home" Robin paused " And I'm not coming home either."
"We will be with you soon"Lucy said just quite enough for Robin to hear. "Don't say that"Robin told the girl. "We've tried everything" Finney said unhopefully. "What did i tell you?" Robin asked. "That I should go see Texas chainsaw massacre" Finney asked confused as Lucy gave out a small giggle. "That you're going to have to stand up for yourself one day, that day is today Finn" "Im not a fighter like you Robin, you are as strong as me and Lucy combined and you couldn't even take the grabber." Finney said lookin down.

" You are fighters, Finney you could always take a punch and always get back up again, and Lucy when those jerks were messing with Gwen you were the one that protected her and fought back" Robin and said encouraging.
"How are we supposed to fight back" Lucy asked. "Use a weapon" "What weapon" Finney and Lucy looked at eachother confused. "With the one in your hand" Robin said. "The phone?" Finney asked in an unsure tone. "Pack it with dirt tight, give it some heft" Robin told the two. "Then what" Lucy asked.
"Practice, over and over again. You raise the phone take a fast step back, step forward step back and swing. Again." . Lucy walked a few feet away as she watched finned step back and forward over and over again. She couldn't help but notice the happiness and hope she saw in Finney's eyes. She smiled slightly to herself.
Finney's pov
"You raise the phone take a fast step back, step forward step back and swing" I did it over and over again until I felt like I could actually do it. "You got it" Robin said proudly, Lucy walked over. "Will we still be able to talk with you?" She asked. "This is the last call, its all you two from now on" said Robin. "We will miss you Robin" Lucy said sadly. "Then get out, for me, kill that hijo de puta for me" Robin said. "Buy guys" And with that the phone hung up.
I looked to Lucy encouragingly she smiled softly back her cute dimples showing.

Many Minded
Synopsis: Issa Pyxis, Spacer orphan and illegal heretic, graduated from living on the streets to running with a gang years ago, but now it looks like that’s all going to change. Her inheritance, more specifically who—or what—she is, is catching up with her, and on a planet with the Emperor’s inquisitors slinking around in every shadow, nowhere is safe and no one can be trusted. What will she do? A cyberpunk story about identity, loneliness, covert infiltration, evil dystopias, and much more! Features: - Cyborgs and cyberpunk galore - This is indented to be somewhat “rational” and “hard” Sci-Fi story - Original Fiction however parts of my worldbuilding are inspired by other Sci-Fi stories (duh) Rationale: The future is cool, AIs are kickass, and questions about consciousness are simultaneously existential and yet unanswered. To me, this story is a vehicle for exploring these topics, and also, I wanted to write a story where the protagonist was unafraid of themselves and where their self is more like a git-repo than a meat computer. Disclaimer: This story primarily takes place in what we’d describe as a “cyberpunk dystopia” with some extra technocracy, autocracy, and religious fervor thrown into the mix, so there will be some “grittiness” in this story. Caveat emptor. Also, [insert your favorite boilerplate “views expressed” disclaimer here]. I shouldn’t need to say this, but the main character and other characters in my story can be wrong on occasion (gasp!) and the way they view the world isn’t always objective truth (if such a thing even exists) nor do their views and opinions necessarily reflect the views of me, the author. Follow his ragtag group of outlanders as they waddle through the tense situation brought on by the shortage of supplies and overabundance of enemies in the war-torn kingdonf of Ecragurne. After a considerable amount of nagging by a few precious friends, I chose to share this (once complete and utter mess) book project with you as a participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge. As I am not a native English speaker or professional writer, you can expect a few grammar issues along the way despite my best efforts to clean up my writing. Hence, I wellcome any comments with the intent of helping me getting better (within reasons of course).

Stranded in dangerous territory, Jamie’s jaw drops when he discovers his ex among their numbers. But with her personality split and scattered, his own survival will depend on reaching through her fragmented mind… Can this pacifist hunter make the truth known before he’s sentenced to death? My Dear Alice is a fast-paced companion story that bridges Seasons 1 and 2 of the gripping Cyber Overture dystopian series. If you like complex character studies, gritty worlds, and shocking twists, then you’ll love D. B. Goodin’s outlander opus. Note: This should be read after Sonorous. This story has been published, but I'm adding it here for Royal Road readers to enjoy.

The Saga of Geir Røshjert
"His name will never be sung, son. Skalds and bards like me will never tell his stories to the mass. But only us and us alone will keep telling his story, his actions, his saga. For he is the man who started all of this." This is a story no man in Lumenter will ever hear, no man except for an Arnesen, for his stories are dull and generic to the ears of the masses, except for us, because he is the very reason why our people traveled this far east, why kingdoms in Erisgi fell and rose, why I... even existed in the first place. He is Geir, son of Arne, called 'the Stranger' by the people. But what he truly is, is a fiery red heart that beats inside every Eyklandian, Arnesen, and me.
