《Immortalia》A Message From Maja Diana

Edit 17/08-2014: I'm uploading a Novella following Milada, after this part.

Please read through if you want to know more about the future of Immortalia. I’ll answer a couple of unclear questions, and add a character list for those who want to know about that.

What I’ll do for the next month:

I’m going to enter Immortalia into the Wattpad Prize. This means that after I upload this, I’ll go back and read all your comments on the book. I’ll fix typos, and maybe add a bit more description if I see you’ve wanted it, or if I find the writing lacking in a way I can fix. Basically, I’ll be light-editing the book. This doesn’t mean I’ll publish it, because it’s far from ready for that. It will still be free on Wattpad if anyone wants to re-read. Additionally, if you’re up for it, feel free to re-read now (A writer can hope, right?) and flag up anything you’d like me to take a second look on. It could be a great help, but of course you don’t have to.

This doesn’t mean I’ll change up a whole lot of things. The main story will still be the same, and I highly doubt I’ll add any new scenes—it could happen, but I don’t plan to edit like that. If I add something that might be of importance or interest for you guys, I’ll broadcast a message to my followers about it. If you want to be sure you’re notified, then go to my profile: www.wattpad.com/MajaDiana or if you’re on mobile search: MajaDiana and press the “follow” button.

Another thing I’ll do during my edit is deleting every Author’s Note. Hopefully, this doesn’t mean you’ll stop voting, and if you’ve reached this point without voting, then I hope you’ll consider going back to vote. I’ll explain in a bit why votes are important.

About the sequel/part two:

The sequel/part two of Immortalia isn’t written yet. The title will be “Immortalia II – The Catalyst” and it’ll continue with the marking of Aurora, or right after it happens. Sadly, I only have a vague idea about the plot, and since I don’t want to battle with writer’s block again, I won’t be posting it before I’ve planned the whole book. This might mean that there’s gonna be a waiting time until it’s uploaded. But again, follow me for updates, or additionally, keep this book in your libraries under archive. No matter if I decide to make a new story group, or if I’ll continue with this one, I will update a part on here saying “Hey look. New book. Go check it out.”

For now, I can tell you that the sequel will center on the people you’ve already met in this book. Lina—Aurora’s best human friend—will make another appearance, and play a much bigger role. And you’ll see more of Aurora, Aaron, Zachary, Sari, Valeria, Milada and Allegra.

If you’re wondering, where Allegra is right now, I can tell you she has been locked into the castle dungeon, and I can promise you that she’ll stay there until book two.

Other than that, their main mission will be to find the Catalyst.

What you can do while you wait:

I hope that I haven’t scared you away from my writing forever. If you’re up for it, you can always check out my other stories. Currently, I have five—and with Immortalia six—completed stories, and I’m writing one casually. These stories vary a lot in genres but here’s a small rundown:

The Lores of Lyra – This series makes up three of my completed books. They’re all fantasy/adventure with an abundance of sub-genres. The world is made-up, light fantasy, and the first book “Rising Star” is currently featured on Wattpad. It’s my baby, and it would mean a lot to me if you wanted to look. Fair warning, though: the two sequels aren’t edited in any way, but if you can see a story beyond its typos, I highly recommend it—especially if you like this genre.

I Made You – This is my first attempt at a teen-fiction/romance story. It doesn’t have the fantasy element, so you might not like it. But I can tell you it’s about the silly things that teens do out of love. (Literally, the main character decides to “make” the boyfriend for her heartbroken sister)

Retro-cognition – I’m working on hopefully re-writing and edit this book enough to publish it. Either by querying or self-pub. The full draft is still on Wattpad, and I don’t know if it’ll continue to be that way. The story is about two young-adult gods that falls to the earth. The mythology is made up, but I think you’ll like it. The Main Character is similar to Unique in a couple of ways.

Other than that, I have over 20 books on my to-write list by now. If you want to be sure, you get a chance to check it out. Following is a good way to ensure that. I promise I won’t spam you.

What you can do for Immortalia and the sequel/part two:

Maybe nothing else of mine spikes an interest in you. Maybe all you really care about is Immortalia, and you want to know how you can help me.

I’ll be honest. Immortalia wouldn’t have reached this point if it weren’t for you. Apart from being the most wonderful readers an author could wish for, you also refused to let me give up. You’re the reason that the first book/part is finished—pat yourself on the shoulder, because you’re awesome.

With that said, one of my fears is that as soon as I upload this, people will forget that I even exist. Wattpad is full of amazing stories—many of them far better than anything I come up with—and it’s easy to get lost in the crowd.

To ensure that book two comes as fast as possible there are things you can do for me. If you’ve been reading along while I’ve updated you know it already, but I’ll place it here just in case you forgot.

I AM NOTHING WITHOUT YOU.

You, as the reader, literally hold my future in your hands. A writer relies wildly on the readers, because you’re the only one that can help us.

Voting: Every time you vote, it’s like giving a pat on the back to the story. Your votes mean that other people can see my story on the lists. (Did you know that you all helped me rise to #1 in Fantasy at some point? It was the first time that happened to me, ever.) It gives confidence that someone actually likes the writing.

For me, that’s a sign that I shouldn’t give up on writing, despite all my shortcomings. And before you argue, because some of you do that sometimes, I have many shortcomings when it comes to writing. Such as: English is my second language, and I have barely above tenth grade exam. Or the fact that I’ve only been writing since October 2010. I have a long way to go, and much to learn still. And sometimes, self-doubt comes crawling and tries to convince me that I should just give up. Those little numbers helps me to give self-doubt the finger.

Sharing the story: Wattpad has tons of ways to share stories. On the app, you can make a cute little picture of your favorite quote, and share it to your Social Medias or email it to a friend. You can also tweet about the story. And if you want, using #ImmortaliasCannotDie is a way for me to see you out there. There’s also ways to share it on pinterest, tumblr, facebook etc. And then there’s adding to library, commenting and voting here on Wattpad. You are also more than welcome to write a review—I’d be honored to read it so feel free to send me a link. And of course, word of mouth—the best way to share a story. If you know someone who likes to read Sci-fi/Fantasy, then feel free to tell them about the story. It’s free, after all.

Also, if you want to know about me potentially publishing anything, I have a Facebook page. The link is in my profile.

I don’t actually expect you to do it. But it would mean a lot if you did. Any help—no matter how big or small—is appreciated.

Character list:

If this book taught me anything, it was the importance of names. I have many similar names as my characters, and it can be quite confusing—I’ll admit that. Some of you wanted a character list, and I’m happy to oblige. I’ll even add a short description of their role in the story.

Aurora: Aurora is the main character. She’s an enslaved Immortalia who is ‘sold’ to Haw Tech. During one of the initial tests, something goes wrong and she ends up with the power of fire and frost.

Zachary: Aurora’s “owner”. He’s a bipolar tattoo-artist, who gets a job at Haw Tech when he sells Aurora’s contract.

Lina: Aurora’s only human friend. She’s briefly introduced in the start, but she’ll play a much bigger role in the sequel.

Daniel Hawkins: The owner of Haw Tech.

Charlie Callahan: A Haw Tech scientist who performs the initial tests on Aurora.

Aaron: A scientists at Haw Tech, and Aurora’s trainer.

Valeria: An enslaved Immortalia, owned by Haw Tech, who helps train Aurora.

Milada: A created Immortalia, born as Immortalia, who doesn’t need the contract to stay alive. She also helps train Aurora.

Allegra: A Haw Tech scout and fighter. She’s also an Immortalia.

Heratrix: The High Priestess of the Amazon Warriors.

Shani Reed: Aaron’s dead fiancé. She was the rightful heir to the throne of the Sacred Land, but died after abdicating and leaving the Sacred Land to find the Catalyst.

Queen Sari: She’s the current Queen of Hellich—the land of the Sacred. She’s also Shani’s sister.

If you’re still confused:

If you’re still confused about something, or have a question that you simply must have answered before you can continue waiting. Then comment with the question, or send me a message. I’ll be happy to talk to you.

At last:

This book really wouldn’t exist without you. You’re the reason I write, and you’ve given me hope, inspiration, ideas, and your time. You’ve helped me more than you can possibly imagine. I love you. Yeah, you, reading this, right now. I love you. You’re amazing.

Don’t be strangers
