《Home | The Originals》Chapter 104: Wedding Vows

I sat in a room alone with thousands of spell books around me. I haven't truly slept in over a week trying to figure out how to help Hope and now the full moon is near and all the kids are about to go through their first transition and now Freya is about to be married to Keelin. "Mom?" I look up and see Maddox standing by the doorway looking at me.
I close my book but kept it in my lap. I rub my face to remove the tired expression. "Yeah, what's up?" I asked him.
"I just wanted to check up on you. Making sure that you'll still help us through the transition." He says nervously.
"Yeah, yeah of course I'll be there. I wouldn't miss it." I say. I can tell that he was nervous about becoming a wolf. We sat in silence with us just staring and waiting for one of us to speak.
"Will it hurt?" He finally asked.
"Yes, it will. The pain of your bones breaking will be unbearable, but once it done you'll be at peace and it will get better, or at least that's what Hayley had described to me." I explained it for him.
"Ok." He nodded to himself. "Promise you'll be there for me?"
I smile at him. "I will always be there for you and your siblings. Always and Forever." I promised. He turns around to leave but I caught a glimpse of his exposed neck and see dark veins on his skin. "Maddox."
He turns back around. "Yeah?"
"Why do you have veins on your neck?" I asked him. A look a fear and guilt flashed through his eyes. "Don't make me ask again." I warned him.
"So we made have held back the truth of just Hope taking the Hollow." He said not looking me in my eyes. "Instead of just Hope taking the Hollow, all eight of us has a piece of it."
"That doesn't explain why it's affecting her more than the rest of you."
"Hope expresses what she feels to everyone, the rest us hide ours." Maddox explains.
I really need to find a way to pull the Hollow out them and kill them. I hope have my sister corrupting my kids.

I sat in Freya's room as she goes through all of my wedding dresses. "I look like a disco ball." She says as she looks through the mirror.

"That dress was hand made for me in France. You're more like a sexy disco ball." I say with fake offense.
"Relax, there are plenty more to choose from." Rebekah says.
"Never thought I'd be walking myself down the aisle." Freya comments bitterly.
"I'm sure Klaus would change his mind." I say as Beks hands her a glass of champagne. "I'll even make him walk you down if I have to, this is an important day for you."
"I don't know. He's different now. Ever since Elijah died he's been carrying the world on his shoulder and has spent everyday trying to help Hope cope with her powers. Like he failed at being a brother and a father, which kinda pisses me off." Freya says then takes a sip. I agree with that.
"Yes, well, it wouldn't be a Mikaelson family gathering without one of us being mad at another one." Rebekah says. "Just wait till you have kids."
"If we have kids." Freya corrected as she posed in the mirror.
"Wait, if?" I repeated confused. "From the way Kellin has been talking it doesn't sound like kids would be an if."
Freya turns around to look at us. "We haven't....exactly had the conversation." She plays with her ring.
"Oh. Well, don't you think you should do that before you walk down the aisle?" Rebekah says and Freya looks down knowing we are right. Freya quickly changed out her dress into normal clothes then left to talk to Keelin.
"Well, at least somebody in this family, besides Kol, will be getting married." I say with fake enthusiasm.
"When will you and Nik finally tie the knot? It feels like ages ago since he proposed to you." Rebekah asked me.
"If I'm honest, I think it will never happen." I smile to hide the pain. "For someone who's been married multiple times," I scoff at my past, "this wedding I was actually looking forward to because would be with the person that I love for eternity. But with all our problems, our enemies, my resurrected sister, my kids and their transition to a freaking werewolf..... getting married right now is on the back of our minds until we know that our family is safe."
I start to cry and Rebekah moved closer to pull me into a hug. "I really want to be with your brother Bekah, but I don't think it will ever happen. I just want this to be over already." I cried out.

"Shhh, Nix, it's okay, you'll get your happy ending soon. Don't give up on it." Rebekah consoles me.
"You know sometimes I wish we could just go back to the way things were when we had first arrived in New Orleans. Things were very peaceful back then. And we were just only fighting Ester and Mikael the vampire that hunts vampires." I reminisce.
"You and me both."
~~~
I was at the venue for the wedding Klaus prepared. I finally convinced Klaus to walk Freya down the aisle. It was time so we left to our seats. It wasn't a big wedding. The only people here were family and the musicians playing. All of us Mikaelson's stood in a straight line as Kol begins.
"Dearly beloved, now, not to make this all about me, but we know how families work. Sometimes it's dinner," he looked passed the couple to stare at Klaus who had me and Rebekah on his arms, "and sometimes it's daggers. Now, I don't know why it takes something as special as this to wake us up, to make us aware of the beauty in the moment, during the moment, or to be grateful for what we have, while we have it. Now, I, for one, am grateful for today, and I'm grateful for all of you. Keelin, when I first met you, I would have never predicted that you would become my sister. Now, you're strong and beautiful, and deserve nothing but the best in life."
Kol finished the speech and had Hope hand him the rings. He gave both of them their rings and they both said their vows before slipping the ring on their fingers.
"Now, by the power vested in me by a Franciscan monk in the 13th century, and by the internet a few hours ago just to be on the safe side, I now pronounce you married. You may both kiss the bride."
Freya and Keelin giggled as they kissed making the rest of us clap for them. The kids held their hands up, chanted a spell, and the flowers on the arch exploded making thousands of petals fall all around us.
~~~
I sat at the table watching everyone dance and chat together. I hear a chair beside me be pulled and Nik sat down next to me. "When all of this is over, we will spend our eternity together. Just you and me." He whispers.
"Promise?" I spoke lowly.
"I promise."
He watched as our daughters danced together with their brothers. Freya came over to us and saw us staring at them. "Oh, boy." She says the two glass of champagne she had on the table. "What are you gonna be like when she goes to prom?"
All the kids suddenly stumbled making everyone walk towards them. "We're fine." Angel says and I can tell she is lying as they put on fake smiles. "I would like to make a toast. This has been the best day ever. And you know what? You guys got a thousand years of moments like this one. And being apart of this one really made me, us, feel like we're part of "always and forever" too. So.....cheers." Angel raised her glass along with everyone else and took a sip.
Me and Klaus just stood by and watched.
~~~
"I have something to tell you." I say to Klaus once we were alone in our room. We stood outside on our balcony watching people walk down the street. "Hope isn't the only one with the Hollow inside her." He turned his head to me in confusion. "All of the kids took a piece of the power when we got stuck in the Chambre de Chasse."
"No, no, no. Tell me it isn't true." He panicked.
"It is. I saw it myself when I talked to Maddox. He has veins growing on his neck." I say sadly.
"They all are going to die." He says.
I furrow my eyebrows. "What do you mean?" I asked him.
"Davina did a spell to see if there was a cure to get rid of the veins. There isn't one, but she also says that Hope will die in a few months, or days, hours." He explained my vision for blurry.
"No." I cried and he pulled me into a hug. "They're just kids, they're our kids, they don't deserve this." I sobbed into his shoulder as he hold me. "I don't want to lose them."
I feel like I'm losing Rose again all over.
