"OK! we are shifting because there are cold ones nearby. The first time hurts the worst, after that not so much. Yes, it is the three of us, no one else has phased yet. Yes, all of our legends are true. Sam's wolf is all black and Jared's is dark/Medium brown." Paul says, almost waiting for me to start screaming that this is all crazy.

"OK!! So, there is a cold one.... meaning vampires live in Forks? Wait... NO... no no no..." I start getting up from the table and walking out the front door.

"Aleera honey, where are you going?" Emily asks, concerned about me as I walk out the front door.

"To kill a vampire!" I state with no emotion in my voice.

"What the fuck! Babe what do you mean?" I ask as I run out of the house to grab her and pull her to me. Jared, Sam and Emily follow behind me.

"OK, when me and Bella arrived, Edward took a liking to Bella and her to him. They have been inseparable since the middle of April, I think. I started to realize that Edward was spending the night at the end of April. I could smell his nasty ass colon. I confronted Bella about it and she made me promise that I wouldn't say anything to Charlie. Do you think she knows what he is?" She says/asks full of fear. All three are growling here and there as I talk. Emily looks like she is going to pass out from fear.

"We can't know for sure if she knows or not." I kissed her head. "Sam, we need to get her out of that house. I don't want that leech anywhere near her." I say holding her close to me she giggles. 'Why is she giggling.' I think as I look down at her.

"What is so funny?" Jared asks with an edge to his voice. I know Jared doesn't like the leech near her anymore, then me or Sam. She is like a baby sister to him.

"You know in two weeks it will be my 18th birthday, and there were a few stipulations in my parents' will. First was that Billy had me every weekend. Clearly that didn't work out with me moving to Arizona. Secondly is that I go to La Push High for my senior year. And last but not least. I move in with Billy for one year." She states with a guilty smile.

"Wait! What! Why haven't you told me about this?" I question her anger in my voice.

"Really!! You've been hiding the fact that you're a shape-shifter and you're mad at me for not telling you I'm moving back to La Push in a week? Really!?! she asks, poke me in his chest. I look at her with a shy smile but nod my head at her.

"Aleera there is still one more thing I need to tell you!" Paul says rubbing the back of his neck.

"What's up Paul?" I question my heart rate picking up.

"Nothing bad babe. Let's go for a walk and we can talk. OK?" Paul says with a shy smile. I nod my head at him. We walk into the woods a few hundred feet into it. "Do you know what imprinting is?" Paul asks as he looks at the ground I nod my head but refuse to look at him.

"According to Billy, it's when a shape - shifter finds his soulmate." I state with no emotion in my voice. 'Did he imprint?' I ask myself as tears start to run down my face.

"Yes and No. There is so much more to it. It happens at first sight. The first time you look into her eyes after you phase for the first time. It's like gravity no longer holds you to the earth anymore, she does. You will be whatever she needs you to be, a brother, a friend, a protector, or a lover. You see what your future would be like with them." Paul says with love in his eyes and a smirk on his face.

"Sounds like you know the feeling?" I question looking down at the ground, a tear falling down my face.
