《Orion》65

The entry of Bellona, Aiden and Orion into the palace of Burmindough, quaked the grounds, acknowledging the presence of life for once, since decades.
They had Elpida's body with them, carrying her further into the palace.
Despite how the palace had not been tended to for years, it looked welcoming, with not a single sign of dirt anywhere in sight. Not even cobwebs were to be seen.
Strange.
It seemed the powers of Zeno, had kept the palace in proper state, saving the little life left of it.
Upon entering the palace stood a court room, with statues of beings Orion had never seen before.
Altogether, were seven statues, each unique and carved in a different way. They appeared in form of a human, and at the same time of something entirely different,
Each one of the statues seemed like they were peering at Orion, and had long awaited his arrival.
Further away from the line of statues, at the center of the room rested a high stone.
As Orion moved closer to it, the staff in his hands suddenly turned heavy, feeling like a thousand lives had been summoned into it.
Orion grasped onto it tightly, moving closer to the stone, shifting his eyes around the room.
"Welcome" A low voice uttered from the corners of the room.
Orion spun around, trying to figure out where it came from. His eyes rested on the statues, watching them in a strange manner.
He didn't want to believe the voice came from one of them, he shifted his eyes to Aiden and then back to the staff.
"Orion"
He heard the same voice speak again, then followed a man emerging from behind one of the mounted pillars in the room.
Orion stared at him, amazed at the sight he saw.
The man appeared hundreds of years old, with a garment that didn't seem to have an end to. His grey hair dropped to his face, joining with his beard and moustache.

"Zeno" Bellona gasped, staring at the man in front.
Despite how old he looked, he happened to have a smile of a growing adult. A smile so contagious.
The staff in Orion's hands suddenly drifted off his fingers, moving over Zeno quickly, as if been called.
As soon as the staff was in his hands, the whole building trembled, the ceiling and grounds quaked, rumblings from the sky outside was heard while the statues suddenly came undone.
Slowly, each one of the statues transformed, with a bright light encircling around.
A wild breeze stormed in through the windows, shattering the glasses in the process, pushing Orion, Aiden and Bellona off their feet instantly.
They fell back to the ground, grunting at the sudden force which came in.
The light which filled the room, forced them to shut their eyes tight, unable to bear the strong lighting.
They soon got to their feet, and had the shock of their lives, seeing the faces of seven people, peering at them.
Zeno came forward standing next to the seven, with his staff.
"We've long awaited this moment, Orion. And finally, it is come" One of the seven spoke.
Just by his mode of utterance alone, Orion could feel the powers which radiated from him.
It was filled with force, energy and Command.
"You know who I am?" Asked Orion.
His voice had suddenly fallen weak, as he brought himself to speak.
"Of course" The man responded.
"I am Zeus"

Such a man is abruptly decamped of this world courtesy of unapologetic forces, left stranded in a realm filled with unknowns. Armed only with his potent yet fragile intellect, Wade advances into this new abyss, as he attempts to rewrite the wrongs he has committed. Plagued by vile beasts, self-righteous Gods, and even his own seething darkness, the cracks in his mind begin to spread and a dangerous, newfound power bubbles beneath the surface. As the world grows darker day by day, this unfortunate journey begins ------------ I suppose rectitude dictates that I should state any themes worthy of noting here. First of all, this story is not a sunshiny one in the slightest. Since it is listed under the psychological and mature tag and not the comedy tag, that shouldn't be a surprise. Next, morbidity is a factor and general apathy towards human life. All of these are common themes amongst other writers, so nothing new there. The story also contains consensual, and non-consensual sexual activity, although I have tried to be as tasteful as is possible for someone like myself. Finally, the pace is drawn-out, and the language is magniloquent at times. Not to mention, the chapters are quite lengthy. Don't expect to read this halfheartedly... Other than that, enjoy the story... There's nothing more important than that...
