《Orion》36

Lone in an isolated forest, stood Bellona, surrounded by fluttering leaves and moving clouds.

White shadows formed around her, circling and swaying forth. A garden of tulips, she was encircled in, yet when she bent low to have a feel of it, her hands went through them.

Her eyes wandered around, confused as to where she was and why she was there.

She noticed not a single bird in sight, which got her worries high, wondering where she could really be.

Her attention was brought to the young girl stepping out of the shadows, approaching her way slowly.

She recognized her the instant their eyes met. It was the same girl she had been seeing in her dreams, the one who sought Orion.

"Bellona!" The young girl's voice sounded like a whisper, yet audible enough for anyone miles away to hear.

"Beware!" The girl called softly.

"Beware of he who appreciates night better than day, his sword, better than words, for he will see you through the journey, but at the very end turn his back on you.

"He who you trust the most, will be the one to bring you tears"

"Amongst you all, lies a traitor. One who would betray you without giving it a second thought.

Watch your back, keep your lips sealed, stay awoke, and trust yourself only"

The girl foretold.

Her stares pierced into Bellona for a lasting minute, and in an instant, she was gone, clouded by mist which filled the atmosphere.

Panting heavily, trying to calm herself, Bellona jolted up. Her eyes searching around, while trying to recall where she was.

Laid next to Aiden and Pavlos with heaps of Blankets on the floor, they had all set rest right on this spot of the cold forests, stopping for the night.

Her sharp pants suddenly awoke Elpida, who had been lost in her calm sleep.

She sat up to look at Bellona, noticing the beads of sweat which appeared on her forehead while she stared into air.

"What's wrong?"She uttered with much concern in her voice.

Owls from trees hooted nearby, while the croaking of frogs from a lake faraway could be heard where they were.

"I had a dream" Bellona began.

She held on to her blanket tightly, remembering her encounter with the little strange girl.

"What was it about?" Elpida questioned at once.

"It was strange" Bellona was quick to respond.

"I was in an area, surrounded by dark mist and a bed of tulips.

There was a girl who appeared from nowhere, speaking to me"

"What did she say?" Elpida asked, gaining full interest.

The silence coming from Bellona was eating her, as she was more than eager to know what exactly had gotten her so tense, to the extent where the fear she bore came rushing to the surface.

"There's a traitor in our midst" Bellona finally revealed.

Sonora got up from where she laid, unable to go back to sleep due to the unending noises nocturnal animals made from afar.

She searched around for her weapon, picking it up and then standing to her feet.

Her gaze suddenly fell on Orion who had his back to a tree, sat next to it, with his eyes staring upwards towards the sky.

She watched as his eyes counted the stars, with questionable interest, not missing one at any chance.

Slowly and quietly, she advanced towards him, trying to catch him unaware, but got surprised instead, as his reflexes kicked in.

He grabbed his sword, sprawled to his feet, and in a second, had his blade pointed directly at the face of Sonora.

"Sneak up on me like that, and you could get killed" He uttered

"Nice" She commended him with a smile on her face.

He let out a low sigh, turning back to sit next to the tree.

"Why are you up? should be having some rest" He muttered to her.

"Couldn't sleep" She replied.

She went down to her feet, sitting next to him, and then peering at the burning fire which they had set up.

"You need rest more than any one of us, Orion. You haven't slept for two days straight" She said to him, while staring at his face.

"Don't feel like it" He responded.

"Aren't you cold?" She asked immediately.

He scoffed in response, laying his sword on the ground right next to him.

"I could warm you up" She whispered, pushing her body closer to his and bringing her lips to his ears.

With a charming smile on her face, one which could make any man piss his pants, she trailed kisses down him, and slowly onto his lips.

Her arms grabbed onto his neck as she got lost in the feel, but paused for a moment noticing he wasn't responding to the kisses.

"Sonora" He breathed.

"What's wrong?"

"Aren't I good enough for you?" She asked in a soft voice.

He tore his eyes away from her immediately, gazing at the figure rising at that very moment, from the grounds not too far away from him.

Whosoever it was grabbed onto the blanket wrapped around their body, and then began moving away from the rest who were laid on the cold grounds.

"You like her" Sonora said to him, matter of fact, her eyes staring at the young lady far away.

"What?" Orion scoffed, getting to his feet with his blade in hands, and then moving further away from Sonora, with his back to her.

"Don't you?" Sonora asked him, amusement resting in her fierce eyes as she watched him shift away, holding tightly to the scabbard of his sword.

"I'm not one to indulge myself in those kinds of things. I hold no attachments with any woman" Orion responded to her question.

"I can see it in your eyes, Orion. A beautiful sight, I must tell you" She uttered to him.

"Orion, being weak over a woman" She added with a growing grin on her face.

"I feel nothing for her" Orion uttered to himself, his fingers digging into his sword.

"I may be a Sedonian, but trust me when I say I can tell when a man's lost the plot over a lady"

She stood to her feet, and then took a few over steps to him.

"You know you're in love when you first begin hating them, and then it blossoms into something far beyond your redemption" She whispered softly into his ears.

Retreating quietly, she moved away from him, going to lay back next to the rest, while Orion's eyes rested on the woman he believed he despised, sat next to the set-up fire, rubbing her hands together, trying to keep herself warm.

His eyes burned with passion, staring at her figure. Unsure, if it was love or hate.
