"Kuroo, whats wrong?" Lev asked, staring at his captains disgruntled expression. This caught the attention of everyone else at the table.
"Nothing." Kuroo replied.
"He's jealous that (Y/N)'s eating lunch with his classmate." Kenma muttered, furiously pressing the buttons on his PSP. Kuroo turned to glare at his childhood friend.
"I'm not jealous." He retorted.
"You've been glaring at him for the past 5 minutes." Kenma pointed out.
"Ehh? Kuroo likes (Y/N)-senpai?" Lev questioned, his eyes lighting up with curiosity.
"No."
"Yes."
Both Kuroo and Kenma said at the same time. Kenma paused his game and put the PSP down onto the table, surprising everyone at the table.
"Kuroo, you like her." Kenma muttered.
"No I don't, she's just a friend." Kuroo denied.
"Then it's fine if Kohaku kisses her right?" Kenma suggested,"If they start going out, become boyfriend and girlfriend?" Kenma continued.
"Yes, that would be fine. I don't control who she dates." Kuroo replied. The pudding head picked his PSP back up, had given up trying to help Kuroo. Kuroo sighed and stood up from the table, the air was filled with tension from the small argument.
"I'm going to get something from the vending machine." Kuroo muttered, leaving the table and walking to the vending machines. He knew that he'd needed to be alone to cool off a bit. Kuroo's eyes scanned the colorful machine before him, lost in thought.
I don't like her.
I don't.
She doesn't like me either.
We're friends.
Kuroo repeated this in his head, trying to convince himself. But it didn't seem to be working and he didn't want to believe it. The girl that he had tried to befriend so much, turns out that he had liked her this whole time?

Was this why he talked to her in the first place?
Just to date her?
No...I'm not that type of person...am I?
Silently, Kuroo inserted some money into the machine and selected one of the drinks. Specifically Kenma's favorite, he grabbed it after it was dispensed and began walking back to the lunch table filled with his friends. He placed the drink in front of Kenma.
The second year almost smiled as he stared at the drink in front of him. The pudding head gladly grabbed it and opened it taking a small sip. The rest of the table didn't quite understand, but it seemed like the two had made up without even speaking a word to each other.
"Are you communicating telepathically or something?" Yaku complained.
"Yaku-san, that's not possible-"
"I know, I'm not that dumb." Yaku interrupted.
"Well-" Lev was then kicked from under the table,"Ow!" He shouted, glaring at Yaku. Lev crossed his arms and poured like a child.
"(Y/N)-senpai is so much nicer than you." Lev muttered.
"Ow!"
"Lev, just stop talking."

Kuroo swung his bag over his shoulder, and began walking over to the entrance along with Kenma who was waiting for him outside of the locker rooms. Everyone else had already went on ahead, expect for Kenma. The two walked in peaceful silence, both tired from practice.
"Sorry." Kenma muttered.
"What?" Kuroo asked, confused.
"At lunch, I made you...uncomfortable." Kenma mumbled.
"Wow, is the Kenma apologizing to me?" Kuroo teased.
"Shut up-"
A sudden crash cut Kenma off and the two stopped walking. They had just walked pasted the Photography clubroom, they stared at the door, unsure if they heard correctly.
"That can't be from the-"

But a sudden shriek, confirmed their thoughts that it was coming from that room. Immediately, Kuroo rushed over to the door and slid it open. Kenma stood a little to the side, peering in. Both volleyball player's eyes widened when they saw (Y/N) backed up into a corner and Kohaku holding a stapler as if he was going to throw it.
Before anyone could react, Kohaku scrambled to his feet and rushed out of the room. Kuroo walked over to (Y/N), who seemed to be paralyzed with fear. Kenma then entered the room, noticing that one of the chairs was knocked over along with some papers.
"(Y/N), are you okay-" Kuroo stopped when he saw tears streaming down her face. As if it was second nature, the boy slowly pulled her into a hug. (Y/N) furiously wiped the tears from her face but they kept coming back. Kuroo began stroking her hair, trying to calm her down.
Meanwhile, Kenma picked the chair back up and grabbed all the papers from the ground. As he was doing this, he realized all of the papers were (Y/N)'s. He quickly scanned the ground and sure enough, there was a folder on the ground with some papers sticking out.
What happened in here?
Kenma placed all the papers back into the folder and grabbed (Y/N)'s bag off the ground. The second year then glanced over at Kuroo and (Y/N). He watched as Kuroo released her from his embrace and wipe the remaining tears from her face as she calmed down.
"Come on, (L/N). Lets get you home." Kenma spoke, breaking the silence. The second year walked over to them and handed (Y/N) her coat. The girl shakily pulled it onto herself and Kuroo took the bag from Kenma, wanting to hold it for her.
Awkwardly, the three left the room. No one spoke a word, the only sound being a couple sniffles from (Y/N). Kuroo occasionally glanced over at (Y/N), still concerned. The girl was staring at the ground and Kuroo quietly clenched his fists.
...Kohaku.
On the train, Kuroo told Kenma to just go home without him. The third year wanted to walk (Y/N) all the way home, not comfortable leaving her alone in this state. Kenma merely nodded his head, not one to show much emotion.
"Bye, Kuroo, (L/N)." Kenma muttered, before stepping off of the train. Kuroo waved goodbye and glanced over at (Y/N) who also gave Kenma a small wave. The two rode in silence, before (Y/N) signaled Kuroo that they would get off the next stop.
"I get off the next stop." (Y/N) mumbled, fiddling her fingers. Kuroo nodded his head and glanced over at her, her eyes were all puffy from crying.
That asshole.

One so rare that his kind was basically unseen. Bestowed with a name synonymous with death, known as the uncrowned king of the church, what kind of storm will this child bring? Follow our hero as he visits the world and brings change to the society. Disclaimer: The DxD franchise does not belong to me. I am just a fan trying to bring an alternative story to a novel I like. The cover picture doesn't belong to me either. Note: This story will be mainly in the Slashdog part which is part of the DxD universe but set 4 four years prior to the event of DxD. Also, DxD is a light novel with 25 volumes + side volumes and a sequel with already 3 volumes called Shin Highschool DxD. Only the first ten volumes and some side stories have been adapted in Anime. As such many terms and characters, I use may be unknown. But don't worry I will do my best so that everyone can follow. NOTE 2: I AM currently writing another fanfic called THE TRIALS: PATH TOWARD GODHOOD. Try it. The mc is different in personality but I hope you'll like it nonetheless.
