"Wanna write, huh?"
A smirk graced the figure's face.
"Go ahead."
The sound of cards shuffling fills a sparse room.
"Just, what is it that you're gonna fill tha' page with?
"A poem?
"A lottery ticket's number?"
The person in front of him pauses, eyes focused on something behind him.
"I—Uh..."
"See," He placed the cards down in front of him, offering for the other to cut the deck.
"Tha' means nothin'."
His finger jabbed in the other's direction, touching the other, ever-so slightly.
"Not knowin' what ye'r gon' write means there's no point in trying. So give up."
He re-shuffled the deck and spread them out evenly in one go, splaying a layer of card over the table.
"Writing's hard, you can't just pick a random topic and go from there."
The other fiddled with his hands, "Actually—"
"Upuppup—!" He rested his finger over the other guy's lips, "No, you can't"
His hand reatreated, hovered over the deck, floating down onto the back of a red card.
"Take this card, for instance,"
He drew a the card.
"The Queen of Hearts,"
He turned it around to show the other person.
"What would that even be about? Some... Wretched queen who steals the hearts of men?
"Boring.
"And even if it was good, It would take ages, the planning. You might as well not begin with it, seeing that you'd probably give up half-way through."
The person, who looked very much like the other, smiled a bit.
"But—! You might not finish it! Means ya could!"
"But that's very improbable—"
"But it's possible!"
The other one was shining now, rather happy he could find something to say.
"The point of trying is—is to see if ya can do it! And, no—Maybe I won't finish it. But, those times that I do. Oh! Do they feel great!"
He was giddy, cheeks red with the strain the smile on his face was giving him.
"I—I like accomplishments—"
"But you don't like failures—"
He blinked, "But I like accomplishments."
He stood there, leveling the other with a level stare.
"And the good times are worth the bad times, dontcha think?"
