they all looked up and saw group a standing a few levels above them, leaning against the rail.

"how did you know?" minhyuk asked.

"you didn't think we knew what was up with you guys staying after the evaluation?" gunhee replied, chuckling. "you guys must be idiots."

"we didn't do it to offend you in any way, though." jooheon argued. gunhee mimicked him, making his bandmates laugh.

"at least we get to hang out with y/n, something you can't do." changkyun mumbled.

"huh? what did you say?" seokwan asked, glaring at him. "say that one more time."

"i said at least we get to hang out with y/n, something you can't do!" changkyun yelled. shownu lightly slapped his side, signaling him to stop.

"listen up, you punks," kwangji said. "you better watch your backs."

"and what will happen if we don't?" kihyun provoked.

"you'll have such a hard time for the next few months when this whole broadcasting crap goes on," yoonho warned.

"wow, we're so scared." changkyun sarcastically said.

"fine, so be it." minkyun finished, as group a walked back into their dorm, small talking to each other about the situation that just happened now. kihyun punched changkyun's shoulder.

"what was that for?" he asked, annoyed.

"you should've shut up."

"there was no way i was letting them go with them saying that. those guys don't scare me a bit."

"whatever. you need to work on shutting up when you have to." kihyun scolded changkyun as the five of them walked up the stairs into their dorm.

~ next day ~

a song played loudly in the dorm. kihyun, the sensitive sleeper, woke up first. his eyes widened as he saw a whole camera crew right in front of their bunks.

"wake up!" one of the people of the crew yelled, as the song continued to play. kihyun hopped off from his bunk and started to wake up everyone else, who eventually woke up.

"what's this?" jooheon asked.

"we're the people that'll be filming you five for the next few months." the man replied. "i need all of you up to discuss rules."

the five boys finally sat on their bunks to listen to the men.

"good morning. my name is yeonjoon, and i'll be your camera director." he introduced himself. "i'm sorry for the way we just barged into your dorm, but it was the only way we could wake you guys up."

the group did a little introduction as well, introducing each member.

"so, the rules are pretty simple." he started to explain. "these rules are to protect you and your privacy."

"since m-net has a big audience, the age range is pretty vast. i suggest all of you to wear clothing at all times. if you don't have anything to show off on camera, cover it, or our editing team will."

"also, please don't curse, because that'll look a little bad for you individually. we want m-net's videos to be kid-friendly, so please avoid talking about inappropriate subjects and using vulgar words."

"if you have any problems with the cameras in your dorm, your mic, or anything, please tell us immediately. any other questions?"

the boys shook their heads, but they were confused with all the information just given.

"are you gonna wake us up like this every day?" changkyun asked.

"no. we only woke you up early to explain what you shouldn't do on the show." yeonjoon replied.

"so when are you going to start filming us?" minhyuk asked.

"in about an hour, so just relax." the director answered. "we have to interview you first individually, then the actual filming will start. since we are recording you, you have your own van thanks to us."

"oh, thank you." the five boys thanked.

"we'll start getting ready then." kihyun said. "hyung, you get ready first. it'll be best if the leader gets interviewed first."

shownu nodded as he got his clothes and towel and headed to the bathroom.

~ time skips ~

after the interviews, they headed to the warehouse.

they exited the van and entered the place, which looked completely different. there were cameras everywhere, and a big banner hung above the stage, which read "no mercy".

"please hurry on to the stage!" hyungwon talked into a microphone, which was provided by the crew. group b quickly walked on stage, as well as group a who were following them.

as they stood in a line, a small microphone was given to the trainees that they had to clip onto their shirts. once everyone got settled, the crew got ready to film the first day.

group b were trying to look for y/n, who they found sitting in the back row. she didn't notice them because she was looking at the ground. she looked a little sad, which concerned them.

"okay. three, two, one, action!" the director announced.
