it's best if you leave now before the weather gets too bad." Dr. Smith tells me glancing at the wall clock which tells me that it's almost midnight.
"Sorry Dr. Smith, I was too caught up in work, I didn't even realize it was so late," I tell him with a small smile.
"It's okay, now run along dear, the weather is getting worse and the highway is also very dangerous." He tells me.
"But uncle I haven't even given Lucy her medicine yet. She is supposed to have it at midnight." I complain pouting.
"Don't worry about that, I have all the things covered sweetheart." He tells me.
"Okay, uncle bye. I will see you tomorrow." I give a small hug.
"Drive safe dear and send me a message after you reach home." He gives me a small smile.
I nod and make my way out of the hospital. The hospital is almost empty, only a very few members of the staff are to be seen. I glance around and see the wind blowing and lightning.
My favorite kind of weather. I open my car door and sit in the driver's seat.
I'll admit that I am kind of afraid to drive in this weather. I start my car and make mine towards my house which is way too big for me as I live alone.
I drive past the huge buildings of Seattle, towards the highway instead of the main road where there will be traffic, I have to reach back home as soon as possible. My father always loved to stay in a cool, peaceful environment so he had built a big house in the suburbs. I am thankful to my dad for it. At least I live in a safe neighborhood with lovely neighbors.

I sound of a thunderstorm is getting louder by the minute and so is the lightning. I drive smoothly through the empty highway. My wipers are on to clear the small raindrops on my windshield. I hope the drizzling stays until I reach my house.
"Holy fuck!" I slam the brakes on my car.
A guy is standing in front of my damn car. I watch him as he stumbles a little and falls in front of my car. I immediately get out of the car and go towards the guy.
"Oh my goodness, Sir are you okay?" I check his pulse. The pulse is there but barely.
I look around his body for any injury and almost in a second find the bullet wound near his kidney and I'm sure he hit his head because of that fall.
I take out my phone to call an ambulance.
"Come on."
Shit, there is no service in this stormy weather.
I take my sweater off and put pressure on the wound.
I can't pick him up myself.
I run to my car and bring a water bottle and drop a few splashes on his face washing away the blood. And tap his cheeks gently.
"Sir? Sir, I need you to wake up please so I can help you." I say because he is not fully unconscious.
He groans a bit and stirs with his eyes closed.
"Sir I need you to listen to me so I can help you," I tell him.
He opens his left eye and looks at me.
"Now I need you to stand up. I will help you." I calmly tell him.
He nods. I hold on to his bicep and one arm around his torso. The second he stands up he puts almost all his weight on me. With his one arm around my shoulder and my one arm around his waist, I lead him to the passenger seat of my car. He was also kind of limping, so I am pretty sure he hurt his leg too. I pick up the sweater and tie it around his wound and strap him up.

I run towards the driver's seat. I take the risk and complete the twenty-minute drive in almost ten minutes. The whole way that man was trying to stay awake. And in those 10 minutes, it started raining heavily.
The minute I reach the driveway, I run towards the passenger seat and help the man out of the car. We both are soaked till we reach inside the house.
My room is the closest so I take him there and put him on my bed. The first aid is right in my room so I get it.
I open his white button-up shirt and look at the wound. In this much light, I can easily tell that it's just a flesh wound, no organs were damaged.
In fifteen minutes he is all stitched up and patched up. He has a bruise on his leg but it is not broken. I have put on an IV I had. He lost a little blood so he is going to be weak for a few days.
I take a shower in my bathroom and wear my night suit which consists of a tank top and short shorts. I dry my hair with my towel and look at myself in the foggy mirror.
Dark circles under my eyes are prominent. My restlessness is clear on my face.
The storm making it more difficult for me to think straight. The rumbling of the clouds keeping everyone up.
The sound of rain hitting the ground, the roof, a sign of complete distress.
I come out of my bathroom to see the man lying in my bed. Now that I notice his face, he is one fine handsome man.
He has sharp features, a subtle across his face. Dark brown soft-looking hair. He also has a nice built.
His strong chest on display and a tattoo on his right bicep.
I go to him and check his pulse, which is now steady. His body temperature is also normal.
I look at him one last time and dim the lights in the room. I take my shrug and exit the room, leaving the door half-closed.
I go into the living room and lie down on the couch looking at the ceiling.
So many questions going through my mind.
So many thoughts.
Who is that guy?
Who shot him and why?
Is it dangerous?
Is he a drug dealer even though he looks like he came out of a Calvin Klein magazine?
Was it the right decision to take him home?
What if he gets up and kills me?
What if he kidnaps me?
What if sells me to someone?
Oh my god, I read too many books on wattpad. This is no fictional word and I'm not a character in it.
I should stop being paranoid and anyways he is too hurt to hurt me.

Hours and hours pass, the storm got worse and now it is 6 in the morning. Still raining heavily and the sky full of dark clouds.
I get up and make a cup of coffee in the kitchen when I hear something dropping. It came from my room.
I leave my cup on my counter going towards the bedroom.
I open the door to a deep voice.
"Who the hell are you?"
