"I'm sorry White, there's just no way we can retrieve him from the stone. His energy is already one with Reshiram's, there's no way to get him back." Lenora looked at White solemnly, and spoke soft. After all, how else could she break the news, the girl in front of her had just lost the light of her life.
White looked at her feet, her face void of emotion. How was she supposed to react. She knew what Black would say right now, he would tell her to be happy, that he didn't want to see her sad, but how was she supposed to cope when she knew she'd never see his beautiful smile, or his determined face again? His playful stubborness, or his crisp clear laughter? How?
White fell to her knees, tears streaming down her face, "He paid off his debt. He was about to achieve his dream. Was it my fault? He would've achieved his dream faster if I wasn't on top of him with agency work. What have I done?" she whimpered into her hands as she tried to stop the tears from rolling down her face. "This can't be happening. This can't be real. I need him back. He repaid his debt, but I have so much I need to repay him for." White became hysterical before letting out a gut wrenching sob.
She couldn't hold it in anymore. She watched the one she loved fade from her life, and now she was told he wasn't coming back. He was like the sun that lit up her dark world. Now that the sun was gone, she would be engulfed in a cold darkness.
Lenora leaned down and patted her on the back, "I'm sorry, it's gonna be okay, White." she said gently. But it wasnt. It wasn't going to be okay. Not for her. Not White. Nothing was okay anymore.

Suddenly, Cheren and Bianca burst into the room, tears in their eyes. "How could you?! He was our friend! He was right there you could've caught him." Bianca sobbed, Cheren comforting her before glaring at White, "If you didn't ask him to join that stupid agency, none of this would've happened!" Cheren snapped. She couldn't take it anymore, she ran out of the museum, past Cheren and Bianca. She ran out of Nacrene City and into Pinwheel Forest, trying to wipe her tears, but trying in vain.
She could still hear their voices, shaming her and the hate that showed in their eyes. She could hear Lenora trying to comfort her and in the back of her mind, she could hear Black's soothing voice. Amidst all the voices she could hear another, she couldn't recognize what it was or what it was saying.
She dropped to her knees when she reached a cliff in the woods. Her face in her hands. She wanted all this to stop, it was wrong. She loved him. She didn't mean to hurt him.
While she cried she didn't notice a light that shone in front of her, it grew brighter and brighter as she stood and walked towards it. The light took the form of a Pokémon and she recognized it as Reshiram. It spoke to her in the voice she had heard earlier, "White you need to wake up." as soon as she heard this, she felt the edge of the cliff crumble away under her feet as she fell.
White's eyes shot open and she took a look at her surroundings. She was in a dark room, it looked like one of the rooms at a Pokémon center. She felt a weight on her torso and she heard a voice, "I'm so glad you're awake, Boss. You looked like you were having a bad dream." Her head turned and she teared up at the sight.

There he was, leaning over her on the bed, worry etching his features. She looked to her right and saw the bed where he had been sleeping. He was here. "Black..." White croaked out. She reached out and hugged him, to which he gladly accepted.
He was here. He was real. She hadn't lost him. Her tears soaked his sleeve, but he didn't mind. He was about to ask what was wrong, but decided against it after hearing her whimper, she'd tell him when she was ready.
After her sobs had turned into sniffles, she broke the hug and looked into his eyes. She lifted her hands to his cheeks, he giggled a bit when her hands passed a ticklish spot on his neck, and he leaned into her touch. She smiled, but it faded when she stated, "I love you so much Black." She had to tell him now, if that dream had made anything apparent it was that life was fleeting, it can be taken from you at any moment. She needed to say this, and even if he didn't return her feelings it was reassuring to know he was still here.
A blush dusted it's way across his cheeks, but he kept a serious face and his tone didn't falter as his hands lifted to grab the ones on his face, "I love you too, and I hope you know that I will always be by your side. Okay, Bo- White?" he corrected himself at the end. She smiled faintly, trying to fight back tears again. Black kissed her hand, "It's okay to cry, if you need to, just let it out." he spoke soft.
She laid back down, and he slid under the blanket with her hugging her close to his chest. A stray tear fell. "Good night." he whispered, kissing her head.
