Spencer hurried up to Hotchs office, worried that he knew about JJ and his secret relationship.
"Hey Hotch-" Reid said nervously, before he was cut off by Hotchs monotone voice.
"Reid, Jack isn't doing well. He has strep throat and he can't take the pills that the doctor prescribed for him. I'm worried sick about him. Beth is with him, but I feel like it's my job as a dad to be with him as well."
"Of course I'll go tell the team-"
"No, Reid it's not that. I want you taking lead on this case. You can do it, I know you can."
Reid began to sweat. "What about Rossi, or Derek, or JJ she's very smart you know, not just us guys-"
"Reid, you can do it. I know you can,"
Reid tried to smile a little bit as he nodded his head. "Okay, wheels up in ten." he said, mocking Hotch with a deep voice and blank stare.
Hotch tried to hold back a smile as Reid scurried out the door, "Hey Reid." Hotch said as Reid twirled around to see what he wanted.
"Your fly is undone, and let me tell you now, congratulations."
"What, what do you mean-" Reid said blushing as he zipped his pants up.
"I'm not stupid, we all knew about you and JJ's afternoon coffee, and your coincidental morning carpool. Just don't get distracted from the case." He winked, as Reid rolled his eyes and ran down to tell the team he was taking lead on the case.
