Jason's POV

I wake to urgent knocking on my door. Looking at the clock I see it's early still only five thirty. Who the Hell would be knocking at my door? I wrench it open and see Zan standing in the low light from the streetlights.

"Sorry Master, I thought you would want the results as soon as possible." I nodded and opened the door wide letting him in. He follows me to the kitchen where I start the coffee and pull-out eggs and bacon to start cooking.

"So, let's hear it." I say as I start the bacon.

"Well, she is mostly human, but there is something dormant in her. It was so unusual that I actually took it to the head blood demon sir." I quirked my eyebrow at him.

"Really? You couldn't tell what it was." I watch as he shakes his head slowly.

"No, I couldn't and actually I hate to say this but neither could our head demon."

"Well have you ever tasted anything close?"

"No but the head demon said he thought it might be a mix of two things. It's actually weird. If I had to guess it would say a demon and angelic." My eyebrows shoot up to my hairline at the thought. While mulling it over I pull out a second pan buttering it and start frying eggs. After a few minutes I pull two plates out and pour the breakfast onto them. I walk over to the table putting a plate in front of Zan. "Ah thank you master; you didn't have to." I wave it away.

"No big deal. So, demon and angelic huh? Wonder what kind of demon and what angelic?" We eat in silence for a few minutes both of us thinking.

"Hey if you can get some more blood couldn't you send it to that new demon facility that you and your mom started to classify demons?"

"Yeah, that would tell us the demon possibly, but I'm not sure about the angelic side. You don't see that a lot." Angelic do not usually mess with humans or demons. I only know of a few cases.

"Well at least you know she isn't completely human so does that mean you can claim her as your mate?" I think for a minute.

"As long as she isn't complete human then yes, I believe I can. My only worry is that since whatever she is hasn't been activated; she will have to be treated more as human so I can't just outright claim her as she might reject me. Humans tend to be leery of things that don't understand. Plus, I can't use my charm and scent on her she has to accept me for what I am. You know the rules." Yes, even demons have rules. You can't force your mate to be with you even if you have the means. I mean I can make anyone do whatever I want, but the rules say nope.

"That's great master. I guess you better get to work and also get that extra vial of blood." We finish eating and he stands to go. "Master, do you need anything else?"

"No not right now, but please keep this between us and don't let my mother know that you saw me or that I have a mate." Zan grins really big and bows his head.

"No problem my lips are sealed." He let's himself out and I head to the shower. Might as well get ready for work. I actually have a lot to do. I mostly deal with demons, but I do have a few human clients. I will be working closely with Bethany today, so I am very excited. Maybe I'll ask her on a date. I heard women like those. HHHMMM maybe I need to ask one of my human friends what one does on a date. I have never been on one so of course I have no clue. I mean if it's like the dinner we went on then maybe that's a date. God this is so confusing. Shit, I'm going to screw this up. I mean being an incubus one does not go on dates to get in girls' panties. I can do that easily. Hell, I can do that in their dreams. Sex isn't the goal it's the actual making her my mate my wife. The one I spend the rest of my life with and the one who bares my children. Only my mate can have babies with me. It's some weird thing that happens. I can have sex with millions, and none will become pregnant only my mate. I finish with my shower and get dressed. Looking over at the clock I see it's now seven thirty and I can hear my mate taking her shower through the walls. I will wait on her and see if she wants to ride to work with me. No sense in taking two cars. I wait until right before eight then knock on her door.

"Just a minute." Bethany hollers out. After a few minutes she opens the door. She looks a little surprised but covers it quickly.

"Mr. Walker good morning. Can I help you?"

"Yes, I was actually going to offer you to ride to work with me. Since we live at the same place no reason to take two cars. Plus, tonight we will be working late. We have a lot of meetings." She smiles at me shyly then nods her head.

"S-sure, that sounds fine. Let me just grab my stuff." I watch as she turns and grabs her stuff off her table then closes her door locking it. We walk side by side to the car. I open the door for her, and she slides in. I hope this is what humans do. I have seen men doing it. I've never had to. I jump in the driver's side and take off to work. Mission capture my mate's heart is a go.
